• since approximately one-third of child sex crimes are committed by men against boys, and homosexuals comprise only 1 to 3 percent of the population, gay men are greatly overrepresented in child sex offenses.1
1. Timothy J. Dailey, “Homosexuality and Child Sexual Abuse.” Washington, D.C.: The Family Research Council, 2002.
Using phallometric tests to calculate the proportion of pedophiles among various groups of sex offenders & taking into consideration reported mean numbers of victims per offender group, the ratio of homosexual to heterosexual pedophiles was calculated to be 11:1. This suggests the proportion of pedophiles among homosexual persons is 11 times greater than that in persons who develop heterosexually. Freund K, Watson Dept of Sexology, Institute of Psychiatry, Toronto,Ont.
@myhairyscapegoat Have you looked up the word STUPID? Scientific evidence shows that heterosexual men are more likely abusers of children than homosexual, and that has been so from the old days of Rome. So go do some research and stop wallowing in your hate like how a pig wallows in the mud - Disgusting.
@LOFTYLIPS The abstract of that study actually reads "...the ratio of heterosexual to homosexual pedophiles was calculated to be approximately 11:1..." - note the important difference.
I imagine that it is indeed an annoying argument but the best way to rebut an argument is with a valid argument. The last 1/3 of the video is simple childishness and there is no similarity between violating an explicit civil right, banning a vital medical treatment, and preventing the government recognition of a historically novel relationship (although not, as incorrectly alleged, banning the relationship itself). You might try fighting bad reasoning with good reasoning next time.
@serafine666 Why dignify a silly, childish argument? RobTish makes plenty of videos with smart rebuttals to anti-gay arguments. At some point, it doesn't hurt to have a little fun and point out silliness with a tad more sillines.
@xothegirlz Oh, I agree wholeheartedly. Humor is an important weapon, especially against silly arguments and even more importantly when you're leaning towards a higher road, away from ad hominem towards something more like reductio ad absurdum. But my comment, as you might notice, was a wry suggestion that you gain little or nothing by rebutting bad arguments with more bad arguments; I was piqued more by the content of the first 2/3 rather than the silliness of the last 1/3.
@serafine666 You do realize that for the most part this video and others like are more for the person making the video than as a means of changing the minds of the person who believes that we shouldn't be allowed to marry right? The sad truth is that, no one is actually going to change their mind on the subject without face to face dealings with an LGBT individual who explains the need. Willful ignorance does not budge.
@atxthumper Yes, I realize that videos like this are more like self-congratulations on the author's brilliance than coherent arguments. I generally attribute this to an tacit recognition that the author cannot compete in arguments of logic and instead appeals to pathos but maybe I'm just a cynical person. The sad truth is that a principled intelligent person will not be convinced by a sob story from an LGBT individual so these sorts of things are not aimed at people of admirable character.
@serafine666 I miswrote a little, I mean, it's funny. The outlandish claim during the latter half is similar to some of the outlandish claims made by the other side. I mean, gay marriage = human/balloon marriage. pretty out there right? I mean, even if someone is against same sex marriage, that likeness is far out there for most rational people. perhaps the aim was more for LGBT people to laugh at. I know I did. I don't know. Either way, this is entertaining.
@atxthumper Yes, I imagine it is. My problem is that when I indulge in entertainment meant to send a message about a particular issue, my parade gets really rained-on when it passes a certain point of absurdity. Maybe I just have no sense of humor. ^_~
Now, the entire gay marriage = human/balloon marriage is sort of weird because it's actually an argument against demolishing the justification that prevents both gay and human/balloon marriage but it doesn't sound like it is.
That is, by far, the BEST rebuttal I've ever heard for the: "gays can still marry someone of the opposite sex," bullshit. Thank you! You never fail to make an intelligent and compelling case for doing the right thing.
@2MixFix - The scary thing is, that was pretty much the case made in Canada's first challenge of marriage laws (by a couple who had had the banns of marriage read in their church with no objection), along with using a dictionary definition of marriage (dictionaries are documents of the dominant culture, not to mention documents of language generally already dead or dying)).
Love it - what an excellent counter-argument against the fallacy that "gay people have the same right to an opposite-sex marriage as straight people". Bravo!

You are pretty fucked up to make a video just to tell someone on the Internet that he is wrong.
