I don't know why but I've been obsessed with this song the past week or so and it's not just because of the memories it brings back from watching this as a kid. It's such a wonderful song and they both have amazing voices. There's just something enchanting about it.

What I always loved about this movie, ever since I was a little girl, was how Thumbelina went from a hopeless, shelter little girl to one who could stand up for herself. I still get chills when she refuses to marry the Mole and runs away. I dunno, but somehow this movie made me feel like girls really can do awesome things. Somehow it has a feministic touch that many movies like this lack.

@ShoutCarla So do I, my little boy loved this movie and when he became sick all he could do was lay in a beanbag & watch it over and over. He died in my arms aged 7yrs so at his funeral we had this played for him - I put it away & my youngest child has his own fave movies until he also died in 2009 aged only 11yrs. I bawl my eyes out whenever I hear this song :( :(
