Lesson being, stop trying to be something you are not. Otherwise you are going to be facing nothing but sorrow and disappointment. Embrace your own identity, love others, but be true to yourself.
This is not my account but i am a Half inuk and every story every tale or legend brought out of inuit language was about telling lessons. It was harsh because every single condition of life was harsh but thats life in the north and thats why were strong people.
You can pretty much follow the story line without understanding the language; poor owl!! I couldn't understand why their kids turned out totally geese; they should have been night-flying geese or long-distance-swimming owls or something... This sort of legend/folk tale is often used to keep children in line when the parents disapproved of the person the child chose as mate...
@supermanwich23 lol, it's pretty sad but I remember reading some inuit folk tales and legends...a lot of them are full of really violent images and are really scary! but then so are lots of fairy tales...
One of my favorite animations... great storytellling

you don't really have to understand the language but I admit i would like to hear the dialogue and know what they're saying.
