@markistc Hello Mark. The difference between an S and an r model are suspension components. You will get a higher gade suspension package on the r model. You get titanium con rods and valves. A lighter flywheel so the revs come up faster. The r spec bike is made in few quantity's just so it can run in the world superbike chiampionship. I would not recommend getting an r model if you do not wish to do lots of maintenance. Just go to ducati dealer and ask for the price of conrods and valves for r
