  • I never knew he had a twin sister who died that young. I've always heard about Nazis and secret societys killing one twin after birth to make the other one more mentally powerful.

PKD was definitely not an average person. Makes me wonder.

  • dick bedeutet fett ^^

  • 5 Twilight readers.

  • PKD.

    Better than LSD.

    Use as often as possible.

  • great vid, this man changed my life!!

  • We are all individuals. This is never more plainly clear than on election day. We are outvoted and out financed by the idiots and corporate schills. Thus "change" became the Cheney administration. Money talks and the Virgin Mary is a slut. I speak to American politics only.

  • Brilliant

  • Great video and soundtrack - A DickHead for life and ever after...

  • this was really well done. good job on leaving out any of those less than stellar 'adaptations' that have made it out. valis is my favorite of all his work and i hope to god its done right if its ever done. what happened to that pkd robot, the old one? i just saw some vids of the new one...

  • Nice. thanks. good track too

  • I loved the video! Great work . Thanks for sharing it

  • I LITERALLY LOVE THIS VIDEO. PERFECT WORK.

  • I need to get some more of this man's books in the near future. Everything I have read so far that he has written is a masterpiece. Time for more.

  • Yes; PKD was nearly right about everything. I hope he is occupying the correct world, one which has not been severed from sanity.

  • GREAT TRIBUTE TO P K D....THANK THE STARS FOR HIM

  • UBIK The spray on reality... buy it before it is gone!

  • After reading PKD, I started to question reality big time! Ubik the spray on reality buy it before it's gone!

  • is VALIS a good read? I'm might pick it up for some light reading over the summer. do you guys recomend it?

  • Brilliant appraisal of PKD, and well done on capturing that image of him from Scanner Darkly's scramble suit!

  • I'd also like to point out the strange similarity between Neil Stephenson and PKD. They look so much alike, and their writing styles are pretty similar...

Probably just a coincidence but they're two of my favorite authors :D Peace!

  • The best way to read PKD's novels is in chronological order. (Even though he may not have believed in time...)

Phil will go down as one of the greatest american writers .

  • @buckfushes I always start my friends out with Time out of joint. The best way to get right into the PKD world! After they've read 20 of his books, they say I'm glad, I began with that book. But too many PKD books and you will start to live in a PKD world. So too many.. too fast and you will start to freak-out. So, go slow!

  • what happened to 'the great wall of galen' ?

  • do you mean galen off "Planet of the Apes"

  • FUCK OFF YOU STALKER FUCKING CUNT.

  • I was only asking !!

  • youtube(dot)com/user/BuzzIipss

why'd you close that stalker account then open another one exactly the same - and claim you don't know what you did that was wrong, fucked up and evil then?

  • How many bloody times do I have to tell ya, YOU hacked my account and I had to open a new one, and YOU were reported to YT but the didn't even do anything about it, you know the score

  • that's the second time you claimed i hacked your account. plus the first time i heard of your buzziipss account, was at a Tesla supercomputer video, where you attacked me with personal abuse - the same personal abuse you posted about me from hundreds of previous paedo accounts.

  • What really gets me is that the people who run YT know all about it but wont do anything about because you must have some sort of control over them

  • if i controlled them, how could you possibly be able to post more than one abuser paedo stalker lie to or about me? if i hacked your account, why are you posting the same lies abd abuse and stalking me obsessively now from your current account then? i wish i controlled yt - you'd not be on it, ever.

  • good music. :)

  • cant read that fast...

  • 5*'s and a favorite, thanks!!! =]

  • I'll read his books, from this great introduction

  • One of the greatest YouTube vids I have ever seen!!!

  • what is the name of the soundrack?

  • Radau by God is an Astronaut

  • @steminnis1

    What is the album?

  • @steminnis1 if you like this music check out Mexico 1910. very similar stuff.

  • @rodge2001 thanks, just checked some out and it sounds alright.

  • jesus christ how did you spot Philip K Dick in A Scanner Darkly?

  • i thought the guy looting the TV in the latest Romero 'Dead' movie (diary of the dead, i think) was a PKD reference.

  • Damn, I'm surrounded by a terrible feeling of isolation. There is no love in this life for the just, those who oppose tyranny, least of all PKD. The government owns the Libertarian Party. You were right. It is hacking at the branches of tyranny, ineffective, and full of egocentric losers who can't see the forest for the trees. It will be so simple for them to place us all in the gulag, should we ever step outside our self-imposed boxes. Every race a false hope, every candidate a clown...

  • yep, this here is the BIP.

if you ain't seen it, see ase010 channel here at YT for some PTG energy.

  • @libertarianjury I think you're sugar-coating it. Have a nice day.

"As long as there is death......there is hope..." ...Brother Theodore

  • "A Scanner Darkly" is exactly the truth about the soulless hordes of ignorant and brutal prohibitionists that run America now. If "ASD" were the only thing he had ever written, he would be remembered as a genius, but all of his work is excellent (at least everything I've read or seen). His output was of uniformly high quality. BTW: VOTE LIBERTARIAN, smash the control images, smash the control machine. kopbusters(DOT)com

  • dont vote libertarian, but i agree with everything else

  • @GLYPHKING why not vote libertarian? there it goes again, voting party and not the man

    \

  • A good video-biography about a very interesting man.

  • Great video. Sound track was amazing - great detail, quality.

  • Horse

  • 777 views...that´s trippy, man. f.f.f...

  • that was absolutely freaking awesome. I've just finished A Scanner Darkly, and that video was a perfect conclusion.

  • u know, what surprise me the most about PKD is the way his work seem to go beyond literature.. it seems to have a higher value, in a way that is difficult to explain..

to me his books are like that jewel in Man in the High Castle, in chapter 11, when Paul Kasoura talks about the value of that apparently ordinary piece of jewelry.. that part of the book summarizes the value of PKD's work as a whole, in its typical enigmatic and kind of sibylline way

  • @StenoFusco I think you mean his work stands above normal fiction and is thus literature, as in the higher artistic sense

  • @craigwbrown Yeah that's what I mean in a way, mostly if you intend literarure as something that "studies" reality very deeply and teaches you those "truths" (maybe just some relative or subjective truths) that lie below the surface of things.. I think that PKD was really a master about all this..

  • @StenoFusco PKD - (when he was born) had sun conjunct the galactic centre - pretty cool conjunction to have (GC important point on astro charts - 26 degrees sag.) - he probably didnt belong here on earth at all - (was wired up much more so to galactic affairs - hence maybe in this way..his work tending to b transcendental, baffling, defying explanation etc

stripping away one reality to reveal another etc (ie the very nature of the cosmos itself insofar as many different dimensions/universes)

  • @StenoFusco PKD didn't write literature he wrote prophecy.

  • unfortunately i ain't read Valis yet, though i can't wait to read it soon! for now my favorite PKD book is probably The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, though I really liked Ubik and The Man in the High Castle also.. actually i like a lot of his books, it's difficult to choose..

  • The Prophet for Modern Era.

Maybe this fake world collapsed March 2, 1982 but PKD is alive!

  • pkd the best

  • Thanks for this video! It's a very nice homage to Philip K. Dick, my favorite writer ever! In a way i agree with Allmouth and Steveaydt about the music, I'd personally have chosen a different theme.. what about "How It Ends" by DeVotchKa? I think it's a wonderful song and it would fit the subject very well, both with or without lyrics.

Apart from that, thanks again for this video, I'm always glad to talk to people who appreciate Philip Dick as much as I do.

  • Man, it's a wonderful video. The music and the narration are so great. I have lot of favourite writer but P.K.D. the best. Now, i'm reading "The Time Out of Joint".He wrote in the 50's but its so modern and paranoid:D.Thanks for the video.

  • thats great i literally finished time out of joint yesterday, great stuff.

  • Maybe excerpts of Tod Machover's Valis Opera. Heldon (friends w/ PKD). Cosmic Jokers. Klaus Schultz.

JMO, but genuinely, kudos on the video!

  • Great video with music that doesn't, in any way, seem to fit the subject.

  • fantastic video and images but I personally wouldn't agree with the music

thank you so much for the vid

for the Philip k. Dick lovers read "I Am Alive and You Are Dead: A Journey into the Mind of Philip K. Dick" it's the best book i've read of him yet.

  • Excellent!

  • Thank

  • As a result of his addiction to conscious-warping narcotics, Philip K Dick does not realize he is actually spying on his alter-ego, Dillip L. Phick

  • GENIAL
