  • Maldita câmera que não mostrou os trombones!

  • whoever is the camera man, they stink at showing the whole orchestra!!! MOVE AROUND A BIT!!

  • as a flautist who with our Orchestral society is playing this I watch this in AWE! My fingers will never move that fast. lol! Excellent. Loved every minute of it :@)

  • lack of love for the trombones and tubas, not that the cello's weren't bad, just like to get to see all of the instruments in action that are part of important parts like that at 3:24

  • I almost can't hear the bass drum -- while it is supposed to have an important role in the piece! What has happened to it in the recording process?

  • Playing this at a concert tomorrow ;)

  • camera man needs a score to follow along with...jesus

  • Yeah, screw that last sentence, turns out that it is analogous with Brahms' fifth dance. So yeah, 99.9%.

  • I never quite get it; 99% of our songs are in a minor. How did this one end up being in a major?

I have to go see whether Berlioz is actually Hungarian...

  • FUCKKKKKK i wanted to see the trombones during the

    excerpt

  • The camera man obviously has no musical background. He can not tell a trumpet sound from a violin. -.-

  • Is that Michael Tilson Thomas?! It looked like him but you couldn't get a great look. His conducting motions seemed similar too.

  • cameras men sucks (sorry but it´s true) excelent interpretation it makes me cry, great job

  • Camara job really sucks......

  • what's with the rims??? lol

  • Camera work is horrible. I would rather have a zoomed out full stage camera than be zoomed in on something unimportant contextually in the moment.

  • haha we just performed this piece yesterday in my college orchestra! cool!

  • we are playing this amazing peice tomorrow! and i can not wait! woo!

  • To whoever is doing the camera, do you not here the melody?

  • @hoopboywjn 'Hear'

  • last chair violins... stupid

  • I have the actual arrangement of this piece and at the end, the violins are supposed to end before the final chord and allow the rest of the orchestra to carry it on, so the violins who carried on until the end messed up.

  • @vertaz47 What's funny is that one of the violins who did is also the one who stood up at the wrong time. Oops!

  • I'm going to be singing the Berlioz Requiem at Carnegie Hall for the Robert Shaw Choral Workshop Feb. 8 - 13.

  • Lol, My private lessons teacher put this on while we were fooling around and I improved the pizzicato line and surprisingly it was in key xDD

  • I like how it shows the trombones early in the piece, but the camera doesn't even acknowledge their presence during the famous orchestral excerpt.

  • I Didn't know Matthew Broderick could play the Piccolo.

  • LMAO @ the guy plugging his ears @ 0:18

Wow, the Cello's are really exciting. Especially at 3:25 and onwards...

    FAIL

  • @Ihkueren You have no idea how loud the horns are when you're sitting right in front of them. It's terrible.

  • Second violin- second chair:

#1. cut off at the end when you're supposed to.

#2. wait to stand up with your group.

    whats your problem.

  • @emonroe14 That comment could go for everyone, I mean look around at everyone else. They were also unsure whether to cut off or not. Maybe the conductor wanted to hold it out for a little longer than everyone else expected.

  • @emonroe14 actually, looking at it a couple of times, most of the violinists thought the cut-off was when the conductor thrusted his hands outwards, yet he decided to hold on to the note. So the woman who stood up was right along with a few other violinists that were behind her.

  • Acabaron todos dispersos 4:36

  • there's a youtube orchestra? well anyway one of the best pieces of all time

  • Camera fail for trombones. Nice recording...

  • haha I love how they zoom in on the bones when the horns have a big bit.

  • Trombone part at 3:25 FTW.

  • Sounds a bit like the march, "Red Army's Entry into Budapest."

  • Beautiful, fantastic!

  • I agree with luckyjinxer

  • that girl on the cello at 3:34 is cute.. (the one with the curly hair)

  • a very smoothing kind of song for me

  • Hey cameraman, way to completely not look at the bones/ tuba at all during one of the most famous low brass excerpts of all time.

  • Everything is great which is influenced by Hungarians.

  • @MrWass009

Of course. See the A-bomb or Zsa Zsa Gabor :-)

  • @MrWass009 Have you seen the film Severence?

  • The hall seems a little dead.. that aside.. AWESOME!!! :D

  • I'm going to a string camp this coming summer, and we may very well play this :-) I'm really really really excited :-D

  • We just played this in my orchestra. It's difficult to play but it's really worth it!

  • jó : )

  • Playing this in my high schools Symphonic Band. This is AMAZING

  • This is completely orgasmic.

  • Anybody notice that this piece has that really common pop-music chord progression (i VI III VII) at 4:29?

  • way to go piccolo.... does anyone know whee i can get picc or flute sheet music for this??

  • I have some questions for all you fans :)

    1. Who is the composer/ Who is the performer

    2. What is the piece of music, opus number/info?

    3. When was it written/When was it recorded

    4. Where was it written (if known)/

    5. Whats your opinion

    Thanks :)

  • Bravoooo! Beautiful. I played this piece with my school's Orchestra in Puerto Rico, I play the clarinet.

  • Cut to the trombones at 3:23 you dumb as shit camera guy

  • i know right

  • I know....I mean it's the f'ing fanfare!!!!

  • lmao no shit everyone knows this trombone part!

  • lol why would he?? its FAR more interesting to watch some 284th seat 8th Violin sawing away in the back row... come on!!! LOLOL

  • lol

  • @luckyjinxer yes, I agree i'm a Bass Trombonist and this is one of my favorite pieces.Yeah, I don't think the camera guy has a clue. .

  • @luckyjinxer Ha too true!

  • Camera cueing was so freaking crappy

  • @luckyjinxer

In case you didn't notice, the cellos at that part are playing the exact same thing at the trombones.

  • @pwnr95 I did. But trombones are really more photogenic lol, and it is a famous trombone excerpt. I didn't really mean to offend anyone, or maybe I did, I made that comment a year ago, so I kinda forgot.

  • @luckyjinxer - I think it's funny that you called the camera guy "dumb as shit", even though you're the dummy who thinks camera operators are the ones directing this live broadcast... and no, you know, the director.

    / Fool

  • @JPizzle1122 ok. Sorry I offended you, lol. The director is dumb as shit, then. Sorry I'm not hip to the inner workings of youtube's broadcasting team.

  • @luckyjinxer - It has nothing to do with the inner-workings of anything... just basic video production common sense.

The director directs. The camera operators film what he tells them to.

  • @JPizzle1122 Wow you really are pissed, aren't you... I even apologized for offending you.

I assume you where a camera man for this event. I, in all sincerity, apologize for blaming you, wrongly, for the 'dumb as shit'-ery that took place. I was wrong. Please forgive me. I play trombone, so I might be a little stupid, and missed out on the commonly known facts of broadcasting.

  • @luckyjinxer - No, I had nothing to do with this event. I was just pointing out the irony in your insult.

For what it's worth, I agree - these shots were cut badly.

  • @luckyjinxer NEW CAMERA MAN!!!!!!!!!

  • more than slow

  • Waaay Too Sloooooooow

  • Berlioz' masterpiece if you ask me, and a very impressive performance! I like the second part of this piece to be expressed very powerful and almost aggressive, and you have done that quite adequately. Although, after the uprising at 3:43, it kind of went back a notch at some point, which was a pity. But it came back at the end and all ended in the genious climax, for which I love Berlioz. :)

  • that was a good performance. quite charming! at 4:46 when the conductor indicated for the brass group to rise, the violinist also got up...Oops!

  • lol.....

  • @metalheadlass haha fail! i have been there before

  • @metalheadlass I think the violins did it on purpose. They are very conceited haha

  • Thn Wad doeas Tan Dun do?

  • blond violin @ .35. oh yeeeahhh

  • Looks kinda like a blond, but intelligent version of Sarah Palin... :p

  • you spelled blonde wrong.

  • @duskyliability typo knob!

  • string bass all the way

  • i'm so glad that they cahnged the title becasue i was getting so pissed at them

  • sounds pretty good 2 me ppl..

  • man, that intro is so Berlioz ... love him ...

  • Great! I must admit i like the Liszt version of the Hungarian March better, it has more fire. But this was very nice! The camera work could have given us a bit more MTT, maybe some shots closer up to see his facial expressions too every once in a while. But good.

  • we played this as an encore after Tchaik 4, maybe that's why it says that it's Tchaik....

  • Esto no es Tchaikovsky !!!!!!!! Por favor, algo tan bueno y serio como YouTube debiera cuidar mucho lo que pone. En especial tratandose de cosas importantes. De todos modos la orquesta me parece buena. Gracias.

  • um, definitely NOT tchaikovsky, this is the hungarian march from the Berlioz 'Faust'

  • this isn't Tchaikovsky, yes this is the Hungarian March

  • NOT TCHAIKOVKSY!

  • this is berlioz hungarian march.....not tchaik 4

  • This is not the IV Mov. of Tchaikovsky SYmphony N. 4!!!!!!!!!

  • How many Colours!!!

    I mean, beauty song!

    Great played

    *****

  • That was Great

  • wow! they're really cool! I love this song! ;)

  • this is actually Hungarian March by Berlioz

  • right!

  • spank u very much

  • i've played tchaikovsky before in my orchestra, but it wasnt this one.

  • this is the Hungarian march.......they prob. got wrong texts

  • idk wat i played, they just mail me the music and i have 2 have my violin teacher teach me

  • I understand, but this is a hungarian march, I have the same song on my classics collection. They probably missplaced the names......

  • i know that. but i was just saying, i usually never know what i'm playin, except for the composer.

  • well that aint to good dude, you should know what your playing, but its ok ;)

  • yea, but the music doesnt really say anything.

  • i played this in my 10th grade year!!! VIOLINS!!!!!!!!

  • u play violin too? awesome!

  • not the right song lol

  • The guy at :15 couldn't stand the trumpet.

  • LOVE THIS!

The trumpet part at the begining and the violins combined with the flutes!

    EXCELLENT!

  • I feel like I've been RickRolled.

  • I love how they're all into it!!!

  • it's cool how i can recognize some of these musicians by seeing their previous videos on youtube :]

  • dear symphony!

please change the title to Hector Berlioz.

The perfomance was fantastic though:))thank you so much for the aesthetic pleasure:)

  • ........

    definitely NOT Tchaikovsky 4 finale

  • great performance i loved it!!!

  • that piccoloist is pretty rockin! =]

  • this isn't Tchaikovsky! This is Hector Berlioz.. I am playing this piece in Wind Smyphony right now. We are getting ready to do our Spring Concert...

  • jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja 4:45

  • Yes yes so its Berlioz, who can blame them for labelling it as Tchaikovsky-he is the greatest Romantic composer along with Dvorak! Maybe its because Berlioz is French.... Lol, just kidding, I think Veggie13 has the best explanation.

Oh and how hot are the drummer boys!!!

  • Funny... this sounds a lot like Hungarian March. Lol

  • at 4:45 lol she standed up while everyone else was sitting

  • YTSO sounds like my school orchestra..

  • IDIOTSSSSSS

    NOT TCHAIKOVSKY.

Figures that they would do that.

  • WTF YOUTUBE!!!!! THIS IS NOT TCHAIKOVSKY!!!!

    *cough *cough*Hector Berlioz*cough *cough

lol i played this a couple yrs ago when i was in 8th grade with the Minnesota Youth Symphonies (MYS)...wOOt

btw, thumbs up to those who actually know the REAL title to this piece lol

  • What an awesome ending to an excellent first ever YouTube Symphony Orchestra concert program!

Congratulations to all of the members of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra and their Conductors!

  • This is Berlioz for sure. I just preformed it with an orchestra last night.

  • I know what they did. The last piece on their agenda for the concert was Tchaikovsky, but they played one more after the ovation. They probably told the guy "Make a video of the Tchaikovsky," so he grabbed the last song in Act 2.

  • This was the encore piece that was played after the Tchaikovsky 4th Symphony finale. An obvious oversight on the title above.

  • YouTube... You made a mistake, It is by Berlioz....?

    Anyways, it sounds great!!

  • that's an awkward mistake...

  • Thats not Tchaikovsky, is Berlioz!!!!

  • lol, liszt also has a hungarian rhapsody with this theme, he must have got it from berlioz though i'm assuming

  • This is definately not the finale from the 4th Symphony, its "Hungarian March from Le Damnation de Faust", if im right. I'm only 14 years old, this is a really odd mistake for the Youtube Symphony orchestra to make, but, oh well, mistakes happen.

  • amm.. are they sure this is tchaikovsky? :SS

    thats berlioz am sure..

  • lol. i doubt they made a mistake.

  • dude, listen "Hungarian March from Le Damnation de Faust by Hector Berlioz" and then we talk :D

  • good point lol. sorry! :D

  • i know nothing about instruments,,but just thinking about the world's first collaborative online orchestra performed,,wow,,

    thanks for sharing anyway,,

  • It was quite a good performance, but that was definitely not Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony. What an odd mistake for YouTube to make.

  • This is the Hungarian March from Le Damnation de Faust by Hector Berlioz, not the Finale of the 4th.

  • this is definitely NOT the finale from the 4th symphony.

  • Yeah.. shame, the finale would have been much more interesting!

  • Play Cantabile by Tchaikovsky!!!!!! just plain cantabile

  • i think it would've been cool if they played Tchaikovsky's piano concerto no. 1

  • Awesome!!

  • You tube symphony should play the 1812 overature

  • Comment removed

  • wow this is great!

  • the youtbe symphony has gotten less and less veiwers as time goes on

  • I remember playing this last year. It was fun. The lead trumpet part always is.

  • only 10 ratings what what what

  • hah i like how everyone moves witht he music

i also like the lack of asians

not being rascist and saying asians are bad, im asian myself but the bands im in are FULL of asians

  • What's wrong with an orchestra full of Asians...?

  • nothing

  • wtf....

    that was totally werid

I liked the asians, think its great that people are collaborating!

  • Very awesome finale ^_^
