Expanding on ehpple's comment if you use regular healing which heals 10 per second you can just rubber band your controller that is if you have the first skill point active in restoration
restoration levels up depending on HOW MUCH HEALTH YOU RESTORE, so cast -equillibrium- until you have very low health, and then cast an instant healing spell like -fast healing- or -close wounds-, all those spells can be bought from the college in winterhold if you haven't found them
@DarkSpyro29 I think it requires level 70 and yeah. I discovered that on my second pkaythrough -.- so equilibrium and fast healing is what someone should cast to raise levels. (too boring let's get busy with alchemy betteR)
Sadly, leveling restoration really slows down around 60-70+ and keeps leveling slower and slower. At that point, best to max out enchanting, make a helm, chest, ring, and necklace with Fortify Resoration.
All Restoration spells will cost 0, this way you can use the Mage Stone to help level it faster, so just go attack a mammoth and let it wail on you. Easy armor leveling, and restoration will level up every few mins. You can also use the Fortify "x" method for each magic skill to level them.
@Ehpple It makes me have summon atronach on my right hand no matter what spell I pick. How do I get rid of that thing and replace it with something else in my right hand.
@Ehpple It works, but this was the method I used. Better because you're not spending magicka on 1 spell, to heal with a 2nd. Its faster to just heal after being hurt by the traps in any dungeon.
@Ehpple i suggest using Equillibrium and Fast healing with mage stone on for the extra 20% cause it gives more experience for restoration per use than healing hand does per secound o.o and with equillibrium you get all the magika you would use from it back before you would need to use it plus Healing is outdamaged by equillibrium unless you have the perk to increase healing amount so your gonna be with the controller/mouse anyway so might as well do it quicker :p
Lucky for my mage(Arch mage robes+some boss mask that i dont know name+amulet+ring= 245% magicka regen plus dual casting restoration and heals 50% more
Good stuff but I've found it more effective to go stand in the wind wall at the area where you meet the grey beards. Slap on four pieces of enchanted restoration mana reducing gear (the 25% reduction a piece), rubber band down both triggers and stand in the area that hurts you. I had to keep an eye on myself as the wall damaged me just a touch faster than I healed myself for but thats fixed but just backing up every few minutes and then walking back into it once your health is full
after the dark brotherhood buy torture room and heal the victims and keep attacking them. easy restoration, two hand, one hand, destruction, and archery points.
dude, this fails method. i've made 20 to 48 restoration level by right hand with restoration heal, left hand with equilibrium.(it will heal, while equilibrium will decrease your health to mana increase) it will be forever health stay at where you at) push both your xbox 360/ps3 trigger down same time and enjoy! But you will have use arch-mage suit and monrko mask!!!! 20 to 46 for restoration in 10 min!!!! even can go for 100 in by 3 hours...
Hey i got a video on how to level up your restoration in skyrim EXTREMELY fast come watch on my channe l or /watch?v=f5I2wDX75PI&feature=channel_video_title
1.- fast travel to Winterhold and walk south untill the road forks..continue right.. youll find a location called "Sightless Pit" thats where youll want to fast travel back too..
2.- walk to the top of the small mountain behind the camp and youll find a skeleton laying on an alter.. kill him and take the book --"The Doors of Oblivion"..take it as many times as desired..it never vanishes.. value = $50
if all that is to complicated for you "quit" or.. get the companion from whiterun tavern"the one you brawl with" and take her outside the gates of town. start attacking her till she is hostile an then do the same thing as i said with the giants. shield\heal. and this can be done at lvl 1 if u were completly lazy and didnt do any quests. after i did it i was level 31, 100block , 100 resto, 100 heavy armor an 64 1 handed weapon. she also has really nice gear! dont forget to take it.
can level Block,Armor type,1 handed weapon and restoration all in the same spot.. go outside whiterun gates. head to the 2 giants that are watching 2 mammoths. kill 1 of the giants as fast as you can " assuming you know ur class and are lvl 4-5 " equip a shield an heal on right hand. let the giant keep attacking wile u block \ heal. after u hit lvl 100 equp 1 sword \1 heal just keep urself top'd off an let him keep hitting you.armor, resto,block,1 handed weapon should be lvl 100 in 30 mins tops.
I just put heal in one hand, equilibrium in the other and heal my health lost from my equilibrium, just walk around places without having to wait for magicka to restoreto
Easier way is to get the Atronach Stone's blessing, and run into the wind wall at the top of High Hrothgar while healing yourself with either one, or both hands depending on your heal rate.
I have the sneaking perk light foot so I won't trigger the plate, any suggestions on how to do this anyway?

@SfixtoKouradi or combine both of these, stand on the fire plate, and wait for your health to drop, then use close wounds or fast healing

Why not everyone says anything about the Circle of Protection? Two casts and you gain a skill level. Healing takes tooooooo slow to level you up

@HaloFSky what if your not at a high enough restoration level to get it hm? :l it requires lvl 75 restoration, and im only at lvl 55 restoation ._.

I have a much easier way.
Get the spell called Equillibrium from finishing the College of Winterhold quests.
Then equip it in one hand and healing the other. Equillibrium will hurt you and give you maghika and you just heal it back up.
Please thumbs up!

My resistance to magic makes this fire damage me too slow for my taste. I like to find an enemy that can damage me fast enough instead.
Either way, leveling up restoration is never fast.. it's probably the slowest skill to level in the damn game..

so in skyrim you can't just cast a restoration spell to lvl up? oblivion was like that...

@Hoagie848 Nope you have to actually get hurt, and if you could level up by just casting its deathly slow cause i tried it and got nothing
