Haha, that's the problem with doing a show with songs so well known. The patterns that you can pull off on a field are amazing, but with songs so well known, you're almost expected to do something that relates to the song, and it just can't be done.... We always aim to make our show visually appealing, and especially so when the music has hit that inevitable "low" point.
well for our high school show we did was john williams with like superman and indiana jones harry potter ect. and for a visual we did this thing in block formation were we one after another rotated like up and down and left and right in a circle and i must say that the k-state judges loved it and so did the crowd not to mention from the stands it looked amazing when we watched the vid lol it was like only the third time we got it right but i think it had sumthin to do with potter idk
@lxtazl How does SMB spelled on the field not relate to Super Mario Brothers?
Anyway, most drill has no relation to the music, it just provides a nice visual stimulus. Watch Spartucus from Phantom Regiment. It has some of the most "relevant" drill to its theme, but even then, about half of the drill has no relation at all, it just looks really awesome.

Unfortunately you can only hear brass and percussion at this altitude. Damn you euphonic instruments.

Not the best vantage point, but the show's great. Their arrangement of the Zelda theme is totally epic.

+ Nice selection of music.
+ Music was played well.
+ Smooth transitions into other pieces within the same genre/game.
- Visuals did not relate with the music at all.
