Great review. This was probably the best MTX game I had at the time. I think you can actually drop down from the ladder to ride on the cart, and there's also at least one other screen if you walk further to the right.
The phrase "i bet i die if i. . . ." always ends badly, one of the few times in life a theory is confirmed.
I think you can ride that thing at the bottom by lifting yourself up on the handrail things and dropping onto it, don't like this game as much as the others but would still provide a good distraction
Bagman - wow this looks quite a bit like the game I played on the C64 quite a bit. But the character's sprite is just hidious! That glowing thing it does is just epilepsy inducing I'd say.
@markvergeer Seems it's very similar to a few games. No surprise, given all the games on the MTX seem to be clones. I totally agree about the main character. He's none too handsome :D
This is based on Bagman.. I always wanted to do an updated version of this as I used to like playing it on the C64. It's nice to play the original on MAME too.
I must say Steve I'm so pleased I stumbled over your channel it's brilliant to see these titles that I've never seen or knew existed before.
@ComradeZX A boxed 128 (not one of those "plus" models with the tape deck included), could go for as much as £90, but in the current economic climate, you could also see quite a bit less. I paid £50 for mine 2 years ago.
A 128 Plus 2 probably wouldn't fetch much more than £30, and possibly a lot less.
BagMan, the arcade game, was created by a french company. The main character in Bagman actually shouts french words using a crude speech synth voice.
The original has much smoother controls and colourful sprites, but it's still a hard game even though there's no flashing blob thing and you CAN use the pick-axes against the guards in the original.
A popular clone was called "Bag-It-Man" and was released on several 8-bit computers like the C64, Atari 8-bit and on the Coco/Dragon.
@Fawltykog I haven't seen that one, but it doesn't surprise me that there are games this looks similar too. Pretty much all games on the MTX are generic :)

If you check out Bagman for Arcade on Mame, you will see from where this game clearly drew its inspiration.

@neojake999gamer. Have you seen Miner Dig Deep on the 360?

Looks like this could have a place on XBox Live or PSN. I think there is a game for NES that's similar to this as well.

@neojake999gamer There seem to be many different versions of this, with different names on different systems :)

@JASONMOORE87 More modern platformers would let you jump and live. Life for your average platform character was hard, back in the day ;)

The characters in this game do look a bit like the PBS logo, which I'm not sure if you're familiar with PBS because it's an American TV company.

I like the concept of the game and I guess I'll let this game off for not running at sonic speed as this is more about platforming than reflexes. :P

@Starxxon Valadon Software made "Bagman" in 1984 if I´m not mistaken.

@mortundad I´ve checked it out and it was released in 1982 by Valadon Automation, so this is clearly a clone of "Bagman".
