  • Brilliant!

  • Doesn't the use of electronics or something you can program like that kind of defeat the whole magic concept?

  • @TalG88 well, there was some slight of hand. either way, the purpose of it wasn't the magic, it was the message. and the guy just wanted to make the message very visual.

  • I laughed at 3:20. He needs to keep practicing his routine. Three programmed iPhones, this isn't magic, this is choreography.

  • @born2ride97 ummm, that's all any magic is. You know they're not actually making a rabbit come out of the hat right?

  • @leifbriddle Maybe your weren't listening to the video? Magic is about deception. There is nothing deceiving about 3 different videos playing at once and moving them around at the right times (or as aforementioned @ 3:20, the wrong time).

  • @born2ride97 Were you not listening to what he said immediately before? The presenter meant to mistime his hand motion (based on context).

  • I am MIND BLOWN! How did he do that!!!!??? O_o Pure talent, awesomeness adfhadkfjhgdakf!!!! xD Lolz you need to watch it several times to get the message behind it all though. But it is AMAZING!

  • Everyone is impressed by the technicalities used, and not by the profound message of Deception. Oh dear.......

  • My daughter loves this guy and his magic.

  • Funny, the audience is standing because they were entertained, not because the talk was profound. That's the big moving force today - entertainment.

  • OMG INCEPTION!!!! Oh wait... I've been deceived :/

  • Buá! Menuda pasada!

  • Truth stings, but deception destroys (I'm not referring to magicians here).

  • wow

  • did any one notice that his palms dint synchronize @ 3:17 ?

  • @MrTOKUKITA yeah but still amazing

  • @Eushawn20 yeah it is :) im just saying..no offence!

  • @MrTOKUKITA haha all good stranger.

  • Wouldn't have worked with Androids...had to switch ROMs/update kernel/root the motherfucker/wait for a proper application porting ;)

(don't cry/take it seriously, android fans, this war is just plain fun)

  • it seems just a recorded video on the 3 iphone and then he speaks a story based on the video. sorry to say but i'm not impressed

  • This is just a video playing on iPods, but 👍👍👍.

  • If you cant understand what he saying clearly, you can probably have a subtitle of your language here.

Thumbs up so everybody can use it.

  • Sean Penn is a magician now?

  • What is the application called?

  • i like it

  • Holy shit that was amazing. How the fuck did he do that?

  • The best magic I have ever seen.

  • CLEVER

  • The only time when deception is cool and entertaining...magic.

  • did he mess up at 3:18?

  • Just amazing...so unique...

  • he made iPhone looks so great..

  • in 2 parts u can see where he messed up but to me it was good

  • If you watch the original video, it's seem that he's freaking out in this video XD

  • This is more interesting if you own an iphone?

  • Amaizing, just my words.

  • im russian and fuck off

  • wow!!!ang GALING(^^,)

  • chinese accent

  • UHM... How can someone call an I-POD?

  • @DJMATTEINO Facetime call :)

  • 1:19 :p

  • Палец вверх, кто заметил прилепленную к верхнему айподу бабочку, когда она как бы перенеслась на экран того, что пониже.

  • Great video, great message and great illusions. To the unimpressed, consider how this was created: he first devised the script and probably storyboarded all his actions and what was happening on each iPod at the time. He produced three different, largely self-running presentations, timed to the second. He wrote an application to synchronise data streams across all three iPods (mentioned right at the beginning before the presentation 'proper'), and finally rehearsed, rehearsed, rehearsed.

  • what an accent!

  • Thumbs up if you think this should be part of an Apple ad!!!!!!!

  • @labradodlenz It's almost like you think that every other device couldn't do this ?

  • @labradodlenz yes, especially the "lies" and "deception" part.

  • Great video

  • stunning whats the app?

  • Deception... being convinced that this is deep because of the spinning iPods.

  • omg its amazing i love't :)

  • GOD !! My head is spinnning :P

  • Butter Fly , Sticking to iPOD : @1.18

  • very nicely executed....it's jus an illusion..an application he already rehersed n showed to us.....but either way it was cOOl....thumbs up bruv.

  • I WANT MORE LIKE THIS

  • All of that shift was only a video caught in different parts of video and he just timed everything on every phone.... He explained clearly that ART IS A LIE ... and at the beginning he said he created an App... Make the connections.. Well made .. not perfect but well made. Great Job

  • @Cyber2k88 bravo! you think your the ONLY one that understood that? common, also, I was glad that he did this; it gave this video a better presentation.

  • the phone awsers befor he presses the button -.- 1.51

  • @RyanBoyling ......it's not even a phone.

  • @akaTRAP91 iknow that -.-

it looks good but until that part looks crap

  • @akaTRAP91 The iPod is thinner than what device he's using

  • nice!!!

  • 起立致敬!!完美演出!!

  • Brilliant Timing !

  • Does any one know the song when he says that art is a deception?

  • @domenico897 Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy

  • @alpha4005 thank you

  • I think that it is playing a previous recording while doing his demonstration?

  • I wish America Got Talent participants are half as bright as this guy!

  • Whats That app called? Lol

  • In the beginning, I thought that it wouldn't be that good. But later on I thought it was awesome. This isn't just a "digital magic show." If someone said what he said using a powerpoint, most people would consider it to be more of a TED talk. It's a great, short TED talk that is really awesome

  • nice but bad choice on devises

  • THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!

  • but how do you live with this truth? Magic is a lie?!

  • Amazing!

  • simply amazing! I'm subscribing! woooo!

  • That was brilliant!

  • He hast to work on his timing..

  • I had to watch it twice. First to be amazed by the graphics, second, to really understand the profound message. Bravo.

  • That was incredible. Judging from the reaction of the crowd, the magic of watching him on stage with his sleeves rolled up, carrying off this great presentation, was far more than this video can convey.

  • Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes that I horribly quote "A Politician tells lies to get what he wants, where a writer uses lies to tell the truth.

  • Original... kinda reminds me of this...

    youtube.com/watch?v=4G3AGdzrkFU

  • I enjoyed it :)

  • is that an app?

  • this dude is IMBA!

  • I think the most impressive part is the fact is his sleeves are rolled up

  • "IT'S ALL FAKE" duh.. it's called magic. it's not like Magic is real. but he is pretty good! :D Thank you Ted!

  • shaddup and take my money!

  • I dont see how people are not impressd by this and are more focused about the the butterflies and what not.

  • This was stupid, his props were obviously stuck to the bottom of the ipods, you can easily see this at 1:18.with the butterfly.

  • @Ghostman7777 That's a small matter I think compared to his awesomeness. Doing that is obviously hard. Mistakes are normal. That won't destroy the whole performance, right? Just enjoy what he did.

  • @Amber0Davis No, I was not amused or entertained by this. So I will not "Just enjoy what he did".

  • You're seriously not that stupid right? It's part of the trick; the butterfly comes out of the phone into reality. The same trick is shown, albeit more extravagantly, at the end when the butterfly starts 'flying'.

  • that was boss!

  • This is really true... If you want to lie, you have to lie to yourself first then you can lie to others

  • FAKE! Look closely at 1:15,you can see the butterfly wing geting off the iphone screen.

  • @teo5151 OMG ITS A TRICK NO WAI.

  • Wow this is really dumb I get it and all I just dont see what the point of it is.

  • wonderful insights...this spoke to me on a deep level.

  • .....this is just a digital magic show. Why is this a TED talk?

  • i love when people go WHOA! when the video of the queen card changes to video of a 2 card under his hand

  • this was so fucking boring...

  • good iphone commercial

  • why only 304,337, has the youtube viewer stopped working again? AMAZING!

  • As a Swiss I apologie for his horrible accent

  • you can see the edge of the butterfly's wing hanging off the top ipod at 1:17

  • This is the worst TED talk that has got any attention so far...

  • I never watch anything by TED, but the was put together very well.

  • this just inceptioned me

  • 1:17 you can see the glue (duck tape) on the butterfly .

  • @phonecpus 3:46 you can see the wire on the space shuttle.

  • real fail

  • this was a brainception

  • hey

  • @salahhe It was a performance, the topic was deception and the subject was magic/illusion. As the topic suggests, he clearly deceived them as he had 3 ipods but the stage was high so no one can see the stage, they recorded the projection screen on here and not him. Says it all really. Still though, such a nice presentation, wonderful to watch

  • 1:18 fail

  • 4:18 faillll

  • man he got random phones from the audience... what a quincedence all three had those video's on them

  • Cooooool, wish to see more, anywhere I can go to see more of his stuff ...

  • I'm confused.

  • Loved it

  • @TechnoB0T no shit sherlock.

  • Shitty Apple ad, bro

  • Fantastic!

  • This is one smart dude, I like clever people

  • Don't really know what was that all about. :-(. There are far more interesting TED talks out there, for me to really admire this one.

  • 3:19 FAIL!

  • amazing...

  • amazing stuff...

  • Amazing..

  • Awesome

  • @TechnoB0T I don't think he want us to believe that. We know that it is impossible to doing it live. It's obviously recorded and rehearsed. The beauty is the 'orchestration'. How he synchronize 3 different movies played in 3 devices with his hand movement, plus the story that he told. It's not smooth in some parts, but overall, its great.

  • I am not sure if it is really synchronised.

  • this was the most amazing TED i've seen in a long while.. Wow. Although I don't agree that ART is a lie.

  • @kezman2003 V for Vendetta : " artists use lies to tell the truth " and that's true :)

  • @kezman2003 listen to his words deeper about that part

  • wonderful..this is magic

  • great!!!

  • i've seen this video before; the guy put a pre-filmed video of him doing this on the big screen and didn't do it live because you need to edit it w/ the computer to make this work...

  • @TechnoB0T Well, he does preface his performance mentioning the fact that he developed an app that allows you to stream videos to multiple devices, which means all he has to do is shuffle the iPods around whilst the 3 seperate videos play.

Doesn't make the performance any less entertaining tho.

  • Brilliant. It's more about life than technology and magic. Love it! :) Great illustration with the iPods, even though those videos were pre-recorded.

  • 3:12 there you have it religious people

  • Симпатично.

  • @TechnoB0T

I had to think about that. Part of the deception was borrowing the iPods from the audience.

  • you can see the wing of the butterfly coming out at 1:19

  • Iz dat guy instead of Jobs?

  • @TechnoB0T it's not that all about the ipod. :)

  • يا زق شلووون

  • bullcrap .... technology is not magic if you understand it.

  • fucking legend...

  • I don't lie. And I remember all my bad experiences all too well.

  • When I grow up, I wanna be a mathemagician

  • Pretty cool looking, despite not be being very clear.

  • Justification is one form of lying to yourself. However justification is still just like masturbation. You only screw yourself. This talk is fodder for justification for lying.

  • Completely missed the 'moral' of the talk, but the phone tricks were friggin awesome.

  • is art really lying... imo its supposition. Is supposition lying?

  • that talk was terrible!

  • @TechnoB0T sure, I can see his hand in second times is slower than the image on IPOD's screens but the first time it's very fit with the image:D

  • @TechnoB0T Probably.... but he made it work so good xD

  • i-link - -Wow ^^

  • I think I want to go out right now and buy an I-pad. I'm lying.

  • Well you can say its precooked but you gotta admit, the performance is freaking awesome.

  • wow i know all the people suscribed to TED are a bit intellectual, but come on stop bitching about "i don't get it", "what's that between his hands".

Just shut up and enjoy the awesome message

  • I've seen this before xD

    Still entertaining (:

  • magic is shit, regardless of the medium in which it is performed.
