The only reason Dodge hasnt built the PW with a diesel is cause the axles that have selectable lockers can't handle the torque from the diesel .....thus requiring a lower GVWR than the majority of diesel consumers want
the power wagon is slated as an offroading machine. A 1000+ pound diesel engine (i would think around 1200lbs since 5.9 24v is 1150) could take away from its nimbleness a good bit.. would make it pretty front heavy but that kind of torque would probably be pretty cool on rock or hard ground.
Yes, there is a noticeable weight difference with the Cummins, but I've been 4-wheeling with several 2500/3500 Cummins Powered Rams at off-road parks like Paragon and Rouch Creek and the additional weight didn't appear to limit them any when compared to similar 2500's with the Hemi. Actually, I noticed the torque of the diesel made them a bit better on some of the rockier trails.
Additionally, I participate in a number of Dodge truck forums and I've seen many times, members stating they would have purchased a Power Wagon over a standard equipment Ram, if the PW had a Cummins option. From the various comments I've seen, it appears to me, people prefer the Diesel over the Hemi in a 3/4 ton truck. I strongly believe they would sell more PW if it had a diesel option.
The 12,000-pound Warn Winch thats integrated into the Power Wagons front bumper blocks where the intercooler would need to sit for the Cummins engine.
I am aware of that, but that can be remedied with a simple change in the bumper design to move the winch forward a few inches. There are a number of aftermarket bumpers available on the market that already do that do just that and add additional front end protection to boot. Even if Dodge just offered a diesel PW w/o the winch but offered winch/bumper as a Mopar Accessory, I believe people would buy them.
Ford raptor.

I agree if the PowerWagon had a Cummins in it, it would the most badass truck out there! But otherwise it's still a sweetass truck.

A Power Wagon with a factory installed Cummins would be the ultimate off-road truck, & daily driver combined.

@WaltFelix Yep. Especially rock crawling. It's all about low RPM torque.

they cant make it fit with the electronic disconnect sway bar they would have to put a bigger front bumber and they dont want to do that
