hay hay hay love your work! just had a question! do you airbrush over some of the fine line pen work!?! ps what is the best frisket film you would recomend! oh and seeing as i am on this vid this is by far my favourt piece of yours
i have a question , once u paintbrush the guitar will the guitar still work if u put the pick ups and strings and all that on please tell cuz if it still works i amma gna do it 2 my flying v guitar thank u
@webcamguitarlessons i used "Edding 8404" pens mate because they are water-based so wouldnt cause any reactions with the water-based paint i was using ;)
Nice! Really like your work mate! If I ever make it big, will have you do art work on mine! Btw, how much would it cost for it to look like the end of this video. i.e just black pen plain surface (protected with whatever)
Hehe thanks mate, love your playing. Been watching you for a while now (that sounds really creepy doesnt it lol). Any time you want something done just shout and ill see you at Monkey fest ;)
Something with this much work in it (aprox 200 hours) would be around the £500 mark mate. Price goes up if you are outside the UK though because of postage/insurance costs ;)
Thanks mate. If its your first go at painting a guitar then i would advise painting over the existing finish. then all you need to do is scuff up the finish so the paint has sommething to cling on to and away you go. If you go down to bare wood you have to worry about grain sealers, wood primers and all sorts and it is loads more work.
Check out my you tube channel as i have just uploaded 4 videos that go into great detail on how to prep a guitar (Appetite for destruction vids).
If its already got a paint job on it (so you are painting on top of an existing finish) i scuff it up using 600 grit wet & dry paper so the surface is rough, not at all shiny and then i lay down 3-4 light coats of Auto Air base coat sealer dark (black) or base coat sealer white.
If its bare wood (or something else) then different primers will be needed. It all depends on what you are painting mate.
Also depends if you are using water-based paints or solvents too.
Cheers mate. Because of the hours involved, Rob's design would set you back £525. You would of course need permission from Llexi Leon (Eternal Descent's main man) as he owns the artwork involved.
do u do other peoples guitars

what is that song played at the end?

Really cool. Nice seeing you freehand the rest of design into what you expect it to look like.
I hadn't thought of the fact the pick-ups and the case would need different priming.
