Kind of re-discovering this for some reason? Could be my poor memory from all the dope and accidents! Memories of myself and a lot of friends(r.i.p) That will keep me straight for a few days! even with all the time I have on the books(18yrs) I NEVER forget OUR past! "is LOW livin" will stay with me for a while. Thanks so much. Peace Rick Wichita Ks.
this song choaks me up. it has my "x" hemroid written all over it, maybe the allman bros. got some to in order to write this song, hmmmmmm could be. the fuckin ho........GREAT SONG!!!!!!
I lived in the south suburbs of Atlanta from 1969 - 1979. I saw many a concert on TV with the ABB, Marshall Tucker and Wet Willie to name a few. In my opinion the ABB are as good now as they were then. Of course you can never replace an icon like Duane just like it would difficult to replace Derek. Rock on BROS!!!
@fenderjones I was thinking that too, pretty much the 1st hand lyrics of a functioning dope head back in the day..... but he knows what he did was wrong and it cost him a lotta friends... but he did fuck Scooter over so that has to be taken into consideration..
he used to use a '65 fender twin reverb for everything. he still uses that with the Derek Trucks Band...but now he uses custom made Paul Reed Smith amps. I think the key to his tone is probably the volume! he doesn't have much distortion on the amp...but when he turns it up it distorts naturally and he gets this amazing dry sound that works soo great for slide!
This concert is absolutely true vintage Allman Bros sound...but modern day! The sound that Trucks adds to them is a saving grace for the long lost soul man Duane...no one could ever take his place but if it had to be someone why not a man as talented as DT? Great stuff!
What a fantastic band!

The thing that hits some about this song, is that you realize that as usual Gregg is talkin about himself

damn cranking an 85 watt twin reverb must be loud as hell!!
do you know if he uses the stock Gibson pickups in his sg or if he changed them?
thanks
guitarshredda2 2 years ago
he has seymour duncan antiquities in his main Sg, but he's been using a vintage SG in his recent shows with the brothers, so I assumer they're PAFs.
I changed my pickups out in my SG to antiquities, and I like them alot.

@gibsonlespaul2008 - Both of Derek's amps get that wonderful break up because he runs his tubes very hot through low watt Weber Speakers.
