We visited this year only short Quedlinburg, so time wasn`t enought for to go with this excellent old streamtrain. Many thanks for this very nice video
here :-)
I created a video about Quedlinburg, you can watch it here.

I was up there for about 15 minutes - because we caught the last train up/down. If we had actually caught an earlier train (in the morning) then we could have spent all day.
Had a great trip to the top in 2000, was so windy and foggy when we got there, enjoyed the traditional weiner and pea soup at the restaurant and firewater below. Amazing how many hikers there are. Much like Mount Washington Cog Railway in New Hampshire. But the Broken train speed is much faster.
Your video is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some 1920's railway centenary tobacco cards and a short clip of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch miniature railway.
The train is actually the only way to get up to the top of the mountain. I live in Germany, and went with a friend of mine who thought this would be fun to see. (no, not organized by travel group)
Those steam trains are the ordinary trains on the HSB(Harzer Schmalspurbahnen) narrow gauge net. This net is relative big and has regulary steam trains running.

I was there this June and it was really amazing! A beautiful wood, a nice place, everything was great!
The trip takes about 2 hours to the top.

Was this an ordinary service train or an organised excursion?
