@adiblasi all i need to make music is a computer, a midi keyboard and a music program with some good vsts. A NEKO by openlabs would be the ideal though.
Sweet setup, Love the Synthesizers. I am hoping to learn the Keyboard soon so I can eventually get some synthesizers, but for now I am a Sound Tech which I quite enjoy, lots of fun.
that xbox is to heavy for that beautifull mac! how dare u! hahahahahhahhahaha crap a wanna have my mac back! give me one!!!!!!!............................... ok no nice studio friend
and the crazy thing is you can do all of what this whole room can do these days with a good mac or pc, a midi controller and good virtual instruments and plug ins. im still jealous...my room used to look near that till i figured out i wasn't making music, just going threw sounds and never accomplishing a thing. i get more done with fewer toys and it keeps my ADHD ass from going nuts and never being satisfied with the sound i used. Still jealous tho
I wonder how serious you are about making music vs. collecting gear -- I mean, seriously, printers are noisy -- who the hell would put a laser printer with its "loud-ass" fan in his or her studio???? And anyway 99% of those keyboards could be inside your computer, imho. You don't need to dust soft synths either.
@cwcpr Pf! Are you even a musician? Do you think he records with mikes in front of the monitors? It's all done directly by wire. Ambient noise doesn't even factor in. The only problem might be RFI and for that there are shielded cables. And, yes, the life of a gearhead is rarely understood. And the different between a soft synth and a keyboard is the difference between porn and a real live girlfriend. You can't caress the keys and knobs of a soft synth. There's just nothing real there.
@gridsleep - you sound like a dinosaur. sorry, someone who brags about having a laser printer and an X-box in their "studio" and thinks that postage stamp is a "big ass" monitor is asking to be made fun of. And you have no idea what you're talking about re software vs. hardware. Maybe your comments would have been credible 10 years ago. Where have you been? Good luck.
Wow Al. You are surrounded by racks. How much better does that make you work? Knock it off I know. Great studio set up I really like it. Say hi to your four core whore for me!
So glad you ditched that Evolution controller in favour of the Nord - different universe! Even my D50 is better then the Evolution I had. Have you tried the Nord Stage piano? It is analogue, I just cannot believe it is digital, truly amazing and makes the Korg Extreme stuff sound like toys.
Have you listened to the Yamaha piano/controller? I think it is the SY90 or something like that -- I was very impressed. Nice stuff. Ever hear that Korg OASYS? What do you think?
Hi Craig - good call. I actually really enjoy movie soundtracks - I am starting to integrate more of my own music into my movies - who knows, perhaps the start of something new! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Phwoar - nice array. Are you not into vintage gear as much? I saw you Polymoog vid, but your studio seems mostly digital. Very nice though. I've owned a fair few of those synths myself, and they really bring a smile to your face don't they!
lol as you said in that UPGRADEING YOUR G5 machine " JESUS H CHRIST" I would hate to see your electric bill haha if you keep all those computers turned on and lol everything in your STUDIO turned on lol.. btw how many freaking computers do you have? and wow I thought you were just a mac man, but I see you got " A FEW" windows machines too lol
Hi Nagchumpalot! Actually, most of the gear is used for psycho-acoustic experimentation/research (sounds for meditation, inducing theta brainwave states, etc). But, I will be posting some stuff you can hear later this year. Thanks for watching - more to come! - Alfred
That's one of the reasons why I got into psy-trance:the bpm was similar to the bpm of theta waves. I've always been curious about the psychoacoustic affect sound can have on consciousness so I look forward to the vid.
Hi Zoran... I work my ass off! LOL! I am in sales/marketing/advertising. Thanks for watching. Did you throw a wooden stool at your little brother? That was you, right? LOL! - Alfred
Xbox 360 - get the Xbox 360. It will take the PS3 about a year to have good games. All of the launch titles suck (just like the 360 launch titles sucked). This is a GREAT time to buy an Xbox 360 - Gears of War, ChromeHounds, Call of Duty 3, etc. - Alfred
You got a Nord modular! And the G2 version! I am supposed to get one (the rack version) any day now from ebay. I have high hopes for that synth. Man you have way more gear than I thought, geeeezzz.
Dude! The Nord Module is a SWEET system. YOU will love it! Let me knkow how you do with it, and please post up some of the audio work you do with it!! Thanks for watching 'Gear Slut' -- more to come! - Alfred
Damian! I just saw your comment -- sorry for the delay. Hey, thanks for visiting. I've been adding some new gear, so you will see and hear it all soon! Let's keep in touch on the music end! - Alfred
yo i cant send u a message, its being gay. We use logiv 7. I used to use dp, never really liked it though. Ur studio is pretty sweet man, not a hardware man myself though. You got a myspace?
Creative - thanks. I used to sell Apple products a while back - they are really great for audio and video work. And YES, I have that bad boy "Mac Pro" on the way! The unpacking video will soon follow. Thanks for watching - Alfred.
You dont need all that stuff to make music but whatever, it looks like youve got money to blow lol

@CrankDATdance56 You can make music with pots and pans in the kitchen. I collect hardware synthesizers.

I"m a hobbyist and collector. And yes, the laser printer is off if I am recording -- besides, it blows the circuit if its on at the same time.
