  • It actually seems like the coffin locker and wall locker give you a lot of storage space. It seems better than college dorm rooms in the sense that you have less things to keep track of when onboard.

  • Who's berthing is that??? Combat Systems? It's wayyy cleaner than our female berthing on that ship..... Ijs

  • Looks like the Damn Hilton compared the old days in the fleet. You folks should have road on the CV's after Nam... Those days Chiefs talked like “"They're gonna have to muster a 20 man working party to get my boot out of your ass.. now get up and get to work!!!"”

  • Officer Inspiration right there.

  • Wow..That is why you take you become an officer. Lieutenant Commanders and above get better housing on board. I do not understand how anybody can not go to college?

  • Go on a Frigate, Its half the size, with the same amount of people.

  • @007coldtemplar Better liberty ports on small boys than bird farms

  • atleast there's a little cubby in there for your toiletries

  • Can you choose to be on an aircraft carrier or does it depend on your job? I'm looking to join after high school.

  • @0909bram36 I was stationed on this boat for 4 years. You cannot chose what ship you can go on, but before you join, you can chose what job you want to do. After boot camp and your first training school you will have a list of orders to chose from.To be most likely stationed on an aircraft carrier you would want to pick an aviation rate such as AT, AE, AM, AD, AO, ABH, ABE, ABF, AS. AT's and AE's have it pretty good on the boat. All the other rates i mentioned work pretty hard.

  • @ARzielke Haha, Have you ever had to spend 14 hours on the flight deck?? Some of the AIMD guys have it fairly easy, but Ive never seen an EM break a sweat.

  • @SELFSUFFICIENTMAN oops, i forgot about the squadrons X-) I meant I-level has a pretty good. We AIMD people are spoiled rotten.

  • @ARzielke I was an AE 2 years squadron two years AIMD. AIMD has its own kinds of stresses, but the work isnt hard. Theres a lot more paperwork and bullshit, and nobody seems to care about each other in AIMD, while in the squadron, you work your nuts off but everybody is best friends and covers each others asses.

  • looks a lot nicer since i've got out. Made some videos about life in the navy

  • fuck...that

  • My boyfriend is on the George Washinton! and he is an undesignated airman. He strikes for a new job in September then gets new orders.

  • My boyfriend is on the George Washinton!

  • Do not walk in to the females Berthing area and say 'Nice Racks' it might be taken the wrong way

  • I'm leaving for bootcamp in May, HM. I have a long way to go, but i'm making youtube video blogs to keep me motivated.

  • What is the job where you don't necessarily specialize in anything? Is there a position where you're just a regular sailor or do you need a specialty? I'm looking to join.

  • @veson231 you can join undesignated but you wont be able to advance past E3 until you strike for a rate.

  • RACKS ON RACKS ON RACKS!!!

  • wheres the kitty hawk

  • @sirrober Decommisioned. i was actually lookin for it yesterday.

  • I am a plankowner of the GW, first of all Luishazong, congrats on joining the Navy. I had a ton of fun when I was in. I honestly wish I never got out.

  • is it hard to finish the navy bootcamp

  • @leonidasjos No bootcamp is hard to finish if you have the determination to finish it..

  • @leonidasjos No. As long as you can swim and put up with a lot of bullshit...

  • @leonidasjos Basic Training is the easiest thing that you will ever do in the Navy.

  • Oh God, It's soooo small!!!

But well as he said, I hope I get used to it FAST.

  • @Luishazong you will, only because that's not nearly as bad as the other crap you have to deal with on a ship...

  • @TehMrNemo very comforting thought lol

  • @TehMrNemo True there is a lot of crap to put up with but as long as you do your job and dont bitch about it. I was an undesignated seaman apprentice back in 1985 on my first ship USS Durham LKA114. I went before the striker board and was ok'd to strike SH. Made SH3 on Durham the on to USS Lake Champlain CG57 made SH2. Got out of active duty in 1990.
