It may well be sung slower at your church, but it certainly isn't at mine. I am organist at six churches & all of them have different tempo requirements. There is no right & wrong in this...I simply do as I am told - that way I keep my job!
I start off with,Flute 4ft & Stp diap 8ft on the Great coupled to the swell with Lieblich gedact 8ft & Salicional 8ft, & Pedal, Bourdon 16ft, & towards the last verse full swell,with no reeds for this one, of course this can be varied.
Nice sound but too hurried.... It is sung slowly and more prayerfully.

off fairly softly & build up towards the last verse.
