  • Very Cooooooooooooooool stuff man.

  • Brother sync!!

  • Brother sync!

  • Master, may i ask you why do you use two EDPs? AWESOME VIDEO!!!

  • @sukum17 thanks :) :) I use two so I can separate guitars from my vocals. :)

  • what kind of guitar is this?

  • @SeboSalvatore It's a fender toronado.

  • @stateshirt thanks mate

  • Mind blowing man! Love it. Great sound. Tripped me right out.

  • Vary cool ! Love all those pedals

  • Reminds me of something M83 would make.

  • Nice vocal effects. A friend of mine uses 3 Echoplex's and likes em a lot. It's hard to find a looping solution flexable enough to accomadate all styles, I currently use a RC-50, and RC-20 running through a Kaoss Pad (amongst other effects).

  • This is great man. I'm tossing up between getting Ableton live or new hardware - was watching your vid closely and wondered if you're able to go back to say, you're 2nd and 4th loop, as if they were on individual tracks? - Notice it stripped back to the original riff near the end.

Also interested in why you have two of the Echoplexes operating? Thanks!

  • @andrewkeoghanmusic Thanks! :) With the Echoplex you can record to separate loops, and switch back and forth. You can also copy one loop to another location and overdub over the copy, which I did in this vid. The Echoplex is mono, and I like to keep my vocals and guitars mixed separately, that's why I'm running two of them. :)

  • @stateshirt Thanks a lot for that!

  • Amazing sound! :0)

  • @sonicattack77 @EvilHippy38 Thanks very much!! :) :)

  • This is phenomenal!

  • creative. What camera are you using?

  • @brighton09100 thanks! on this vid i'm using a canon 5d mkii.

  • Great sound and really

  • what guitar is that? a jazzmaster hh? amazing work btw!

  • @geetarplayer11 thanks!! :) It's a fender toronado.

  • That's an amazing set up, brilliant work.

  • holly guacamolly!

  • I'm here cause of Justin too, but it's really amasing, I wish to be so talented as you ! ; o

  • Very cool dude...!!! Def dig it..!

  • You love music , thats for sure ! look like ur in a trance !

  • Beautiful rug. How could this not work with such a beautiful foundation?

  • Justin sent me here and I was blown away. Fantastic stuff!!!

  • @sudhindrak thanks a lot!! :) :)

  • Justin Sandercoe brought me here (via Twitter). Dude, you're great! Gonna watch more of your videos now. :)

  • @RockyRaccoonsFriend Thanks for the kind words and for checking out my music!! :) :)

  • cool stuff!

  • Unreal

  • Great work!!

  • I lost my words...

    this is amazing!!!

  • @SamOConner thanks so much!! :)

  • well done!

  • is necesary the two loopers ? or I can do the same only with one looper.

  • @cvj2311 hey there! I like to use one looper for guitar and one for vocals, but you could certainly use just one looper if you don't mind having the audio channels combined.

  • excellent.

  • well that's what i meant: you run your mic HOW into the timeline? does it have xlr-connectors? ;-)

    sorry if i am lame...

  • @laurentius75 oh i see what you're asking! I have an XLR to 1/4" adapter to run the mic directly into the TimeLine.

  • hey man, sooooo great your atmos! what i am really interested in: how do you amp the mic? and do you run into the same speaker/amp with the "vocal" channel as with your guitar?

    respect,

    laurentius

  • @laurentius75 thanks!! :) for this video i went direct into my Mac, no amp. Sometimes I'll run the guitars into an amp, but always run the vocals separately.

  • @stateshirt sounds incredible!! you're awesome

I have an El Capistan, and I'm curious as in why do you use EC here and not Timeline only. Do they have different tonal quality, and what EC have can't be produced with Timeline? or El Capistan here functions as to provide the base delay?

and what do you think of Blue Sky? I was looking at blue sky for that shimmering swell effect but after I stumbled upon Timeline, it might be a much more versatile delay/reverb unit...

  • @cgDominic Thanks a lot! :) I run my vocals on a separate channel for my guitar, and I want separate sound processing for each. El Cap does have additional modes/features that are not in TimeLine. I use blueSky quite a bit, especially for vocals. TimeLine does have the Ice mode which can offer octave-type effects, but not the same as the blueSky shimmer mode. Hope this helps! :)

  • amzing sound and creation man! love it i was just strolling thru some youtube videos and never even heard of strymon. was thinkin on buyin the eventide h8000 but really considerin on buyin these guys pedals. and the reveb pedal is nuts! glad i could see your video thanx for posting!!!!

  • awesome dude

  • How do you like the FCB1010? Did you just route it to the TimeLine Looper to control the looping parameters or just through the Mac? Also, could this pedalboard work with the MIDI integration of the TimeLine (ties in to if you used the looping function, I guess) to control presets?

  • @ElectStringQuartet actually for this i was using the FCB for the Echoplex. You could use the FCB for TimeLine, especially if you wanted to use some buttons for presets and some for the looper. Other than the FCB being a bit big and breaking a switch, it's been useful.

  • @stateshirt Ahhhh, okay! Makes sense. Definitely good to know, I'm getting one for my violin as soon as the next batch comes out and definitely want to take advantage of the MIDI function. I'm also looking into the Rocktron Midi Mate, which seems a little better, but I'm definitely in the market for just cheap. Being a solo musician isn't too much fun when you have to pay for everything, haha. Great stuff, though, really inspired me with the Strymon video too. Thanks!

  • Are you the dude who did the demo for strymon?

  • @777jordan yep that's me! :)

  • @stateshirt hey is there a way to get the el capistan to loop without it dying out or the tape sounding really old??

  • @ihaveaverybadcold hey there... there will always be a tiny bit of degradation since it's a tape-style looper. I actually put together a few vids about this. Here's one: youtube DOT com /watch?v=MMNc1Dj8ufg

  • @stateshirt cool thx

  • favorited for sure...this is awesome!

  • Nice touch with the vocals. It sets a great atmosphere.

  • how are you amplifying your sound? if using a PA of some sort... does the am4 provide good amp modeling?

  • @claytushaywood1 - for this I'm just going direct into my mac, using studio monitors. am4 is convenient (except for the size) but there are probably better options.

  • @stateshirt thanks! one more... do you know if the timeline's looping function can do the lo-fi'ish modulated looping sounds that the el capistan can do? or the half double time stuff? cant find much on the timeline looper even though ive read the manual! i got one coming when the second one comes out!

  • @claytushaywood1 - it does all sorts of cool stuff but isn't the same style as the El Cap SOS mode. It does do reverse and half speed. :)

  • @stateshirt so none of the zvex lo-fi loop junky tape warbling old tape effects on the timeline looper?

  • do you use two echoplexs for stereo mixes????

  • @fxman8 i run vocals into one and guitar into the other. :)

  • I am seriously really diggin what you have going on here. awesome stuff bro

  • @nightbulb42 Thanks!!! :) :)

  • How is the mike connected to the timeline? Is it just through some sort of mic/line converter then straight in to the pedal? Can you plug both a mic and guitar into the left/right in of the pedal?

    Awesome sounds!

  • @iam0103 Thanks! :) I have an XLR to 1/4" adapter for the mic, and it goes into my Boss DF-2 distortion then direct into TimeLine. Guitar is Line 6 AM4 -> Strymon El Capistan. You can probably plug both into TimeLine, but keep in mind both signals will be merged. Hope this helps.

  • wow! That's one of those videos that I want to watch over and over again. Awesome, man!

  • @kantefier Thanks a lot!!

  • very nice ... btw, are you using Uno on your FCB1010? I am planning to use one for the timeline but I have the original chip/firmware.

    thanks!

  • @rhoydotp - i'm using the original FCB firmware... never bothered to update!

  • How the hell have you got a Timeline!? Really wanting one.....sweet tune though

  • Sounds beautiful. Love it.

  • @cosmogang Thanks!!! :) :)

  • Stunningly good dude…

  • Wow!

  • good stuff man...ill keep watching

  • Well done, nice stuff. Can't wait for the Timeline!

  • AMAZING dude! So inspiring... congrats!

    (I need a Strymon Timeline)

  • Awesome man

  • Couldnt be any more perfect.

  • live looping ambient.;)

    great!:)

  • How'd you get a hold of Strymon's TimeLine already?! Btw, awesome stuff. If only we can make a band together. That stuff would complement my playing so well as well as mine with yours.

  • @Kroche929 That's Ethan, and he works for Strymon, so no surprise he has one already ;)

  • @Kroche929 Cause he works for Strymon :)

  • very very cool man

  • Awesome as much as I love every other 'Ambient looping' videos on Youtube, this one is so much more musical than the rest of them, very interesting.

    Props.

  • Man, I love your style! This is great, dude!
