Whenever I come to a video about Venezuela, there's always a bunch of chamos arguing about nothing. Venezuela is in trouble. We need to do something about it. Chavez has been in power long enough and his ideals have failed the country. As good as Chavez's intentions are, he is wrong, and has ruined the Country. Something needs to be done, not said, and these petty arguments solve nothing.
In Caracas there is a murder every half an hour, thats an average of 40 murders a day and 16,000 murders a year, thats totally insane for just one city to have that many violent deaths in oneday, shows how completely out of control it is over there, Venezuela is fucked up and Venezuela is going to keep on getting worse while Chavez remains in power.

Ok, este es un problema que radica desde el ceno de la FAMILIA, pero que debe atacar el Gobierno. Es mi percepción sobre las cosas... He estado en Rio de Janeiro y en varias ciudades de Colombia. y Vivo en Caracas, jamas la cambiaría por nada en el mundo.. Y la delincuencia en esos países no es tan fuerte como aquí. Does Caracas have ghetto areas or is the whole city dangerous? In American cities these are usually dangerous parts where you know you have to stay out of....and there are normal parts where crime doesn't usually happen.

Caracas has become the murder capital of the world, not just Venezuela. There are more homicides there per capita than in San Salvador or the infamous Juarez, Mexico. Here you have a country run by a supposed "socialist" where the extremely rich live alongside the extremely poor. Chavez supposedly idolizes Castro, but Cuba is a very safe country. Latin America is quickly becoming a modern region leaving Venezuela behind. Suerte Venezolanos.

@pitolove71 The police in Venezuela are corrupt, most of them don't bother to report crimes and when they do report murders they usually don't bother to investigate the murders, alot of murders in Venezuela also don't get reported by the police either, the police in Venezuela are poorly paid poorly trained under resourced and are under staffed and thats also the other reason why most murders and other crimes go unsolved, it's the same with the police in all other third world countries.

@rodrigonolck I live outside of Detroit. Crime here is nothing compared to Caracas. Trust me on that. In fact, I've been in some seedy parts of Detroit and did not witness any murder nor do I recall any murder occurring in the areas I was in. Plus there are many towns in the Metro Detroit area that are very safe including mine. Hopefully you're not having to personally witness any crimes over there.

Detroit is a very decayed city by Western standards, but it isn't the 5th most dangerous or worst in terms of anything in the world and I have been there. It isn't even the worst in the USA. Caracas has become the murder capital of the world, not just Venezuela. There are more homicides there per capita than in San Salvador or the infamous Juarez, Mexico. Here you have a country run by a supposed "socialist" where the extremely rich live alongside the extremely poor. Chavez supposedly idolizes Castro, but Cuba is a very safe country. Latin America is quickly becoming a modern region leaving Venezuela behind. Suerte Venezolanos.

@pitolove71 The police in Venezuela are corrupt, most of them don't bother to report crimes and when they do report murders they usually don't bother to investigate the murders, alot of murders in Venezuela also don't get reported by the police either, the police in Venezuela are poorly paid poorly trained under resourced and are under staffed and thats also the other reason why most murders and other crimes go unsolved, it's the same with the police in all other third world countries.

Venezuela is going through really rough times, which makes me, as a venezuelan, really really sad. But Venezuelan people has always been hard working, and our universities give excellent education and prepare excellent professionals. But, this government is destroying everything! So please, you, as a human being, pray for us instead.

So while visiting either caracas or Maracaibo i advise you if you own a blackberry phone NOT TO USE IT in public areas, only in places where you are alone and are 100% sure you are not being watched.

@rodrigonolck I live outside of Detroit. Crime here is nothing compared to Caracas. Trust me on that. In fact, I've been in some seedy parts of Detroit and did not witness any murder nor do I recall any murder occurring in the areas I was in. Plus there are many towns in the Metro Detroit area that are very safe including mine. Hopefully you're not having to personally witness any crimes over there.

Detroit is a very decayed city by Western standards, but it isn't the 5th most dangerous or worst in terms of anything in the world and I have been there. It isn't even the worst in the USA. St Louis, Camden, and East St Louis are all statically worst.
Americans love to claim that their cities are worst than 3rd world countries for some reason. Maybe it is a pride thing?
