Blue Screen of Death at least TELLS YOU what's wrong, the black screen of death for Macs doesn't, and besides that 99% of all PC crashes are caused by third party programs, not the OS itself, unlike OSX.
Also, most Mac crashes are completely illogical, plus a majority of OSX is based off of linux, so you're basically paying for linux.
Also PCs are 1/3rd the cost of Macs.

I got a BSOD on my Windows computer when playing SRB2, got me mad. I use my Linux laptop for things I do not do on my Windows computer, a lot of stuff.
@GaelicHighlander Most of the mainframes and Servers within the US are running Unix or MS. There is an official statistic vom the US DoD from 2008 or 2009 on that. Windows has the lowest quality? i dont think so. I just shutted down one of my first servers which ran with Windows 2k Server for over 5 years without any crashes or restarts. And on youtube you find vids from Server who ran more then 7-8 years. That so far for "low quality"
@GaelicHighlander I work with PC´s (C64, Amiga, Mac and PC) for almost 20 out of my 28 years started when I was 7. I dont knw what kind of problems do you have and what question a Windows PC ask you regarding simple task. Not all mayor companies uses Apple. Even governments around the world use MS, But yea, they dont know it better.... And for Server, there is no cuda based workstation from Apple.

No matter which aple system I "could" buy, there is nothing what comes even closer then 30-40 percent. Windows is easy and fast. Never had any problems with virusses or anything else. And its a fact that mac hardware is normally twice expensive as PC Hardware. Apple doesnt even have Bluray ROM.
Funny how stupid people can be paying twice the price for a computer just because it has an apple logo and it runs MacOS. Worldwide most of the PC Users use MS. I only get blue screens when debugging my drivers. Blue screens are commonly seen in computers with faulty hardware, such as when you use a PC in an environment not designed for that hardware. In those cases XP embedded should be used.

Uh, no, look into Xerox, IBM, and all the rest. First, Mac is a product, didn't invest computers, but I think I know what you meant, you're suggesting Apple did. Well surprise, "neither" of the big two invented the "computer". If you want to dig deep and try to give credit for the many technologies that lead to this and that, have fun, but you'll be hearing Xerox more often than Apple buddy.

He's right and wrong, but the BSOD is missunderstood. It's not necessarily the "death" of a PC, and even if something did die, unlike a Mac, you can have that component replaced with great ease.
Regardless, a BSOD can be a result of a bad Dimm, bad sector on the HDD, and a number of other things that aren't very serious. People just thing "Oh god, blue screen", meanwhile reinstall drivers, or repair utility usually fixes it.
Oh, and if you're getting a BSOD with Win 7 you're a fucking liar.

PC has a way larger user group then Mac. We actually have 84% of the user market while you have a mere 6.8%. Even Linux is beating you. @HypnoticSuggestion PC speed isn't everything, neither is gaming performance, if i want to play a game, i'll use my PS3. I use a HP Slimline desktop at home, and a Mac laptop when out. Neither one is above 2GB ram / 2.5Ghz, and they do EVERYTHING i need them for.

When I built my workstation my budget was 'half' of what a Mac Pro would cost, was over $5,800! The workstation I've built is spec'd much higher, & only $3,200. Same dual socket Xeons, 24GB, but also dual 6970's. PC was my solution, for now.

People think they suck since you can't upgrade them. They are expensive, they CAN run windows programs...but then its not really just a mac. Also since yes u can run games but are limited to your built in video card AND have to install a program just to play them. PC's can go online and download thousands of programs to make movies with for FREE.
I've had it once, for a real, none software related issue. The motherboard of my laptop got bent out of shape from years of abuse. When I say bent, I mean it.. lol, BSOD is -Mostly- caused by hardware faults, and that is -Why- it's there. Though some software faults can trigger it, if it could possibly cause hardware damage.
Don't get me wrong, I don't take -You- for an idiot, I'm just trying to be informative to the best of my knowledge.
Oh By the Way! The BSoD won't be a problem for you windows 7 users! The BSoD Repairs itself!! So like if you get a BsoD. after u restart, a box comes up saying repairing, and everything is fixed.. There are also programs in place to prevent the BsoD in windows 7.. So you mac people! The BsoD cannot be an argument against Windows anymore!! XD
You can only get the BSoD if you have done something incorrect to your system. ie delete system files, download a virus(porn, cracks, torrents), have improper or no drivers, and have run a program or have told it to do something it should be supporting like overclocking to high or running way to many processes.

to tell you the truth, ive never had a blue screen of death, ever. i've only seen other people have them. maybe its because they didnt know what the hell they were doing. i build pc's and they can be real hell, but if you build a pc with quality parts and you know what you are doing, they can run as stable as a rock.
i have nvr had it on my dell even when i didnt ave VP only this dell crashed but the only time it fucked up was when the hdd messed up and we had in home service so he cane in and instaled a new one but that was a while back oh and my laptop went through hell and back until my bug brother tripped and stepped on it and he put it in the floor and cracked the screen but he already ordered a new one for me so ya i got 190 dollars in upgrades just for halo 2
well mine was not entirely my fault, because through no action of my own, my mobo set the cas latency on my ram to 5-5-5 15, instead of 5-5-5 18, which didn't work too well with my video card. figured it out pretty quick though.

Uh, no, look into Xerox, IBM, and all the rest. First, Mac is a product, didn't invest computers, but I think I know what you meant, you're suggesting Apple did. Well surprise, "neither" of the big two invented the "computer". He's right and wrong, but the BSOD is missunderstood. It's not necessarily the "death" of a PC, and even if something did die, unlike a Mac, you can have that component replaced with great ease.
Regardless, a BSOD can be a result of a bad Dimm, bad sector on the HDD, and a number of other things that aren't very serious. People just thing "Oh god, blue screen", meanwhile reinstall drivers, or repair utility usually fixes it.
Oh, and if you're getting a BSOD with Win 7 you're a fucking liar.

@HypnoticSuggestion PC speed isn't everything, neither is gaming performance, if i want to play a game, i'll use my PS3. I use a HP Slimline desktop at home, and a Mac laptop when out. Neither one is above 2GB ram / 2.5Ghz, and they do EVERYTHING i need them for.

@D3athcricket I'm a gamer, I do, well I don't need two 5870's, but I want to use EyeFinity, and it was only a little more money to get two 5870's than the x6 display edition. Now days I'm running 8GB DDR3 1333, and a PhII 1090T Black Edition @ 3.8Ghz.
If not a serious gamer, then sure it's more than most would need, well the Gpu's. The board/mem/cpu aren't overkill at all, not even my present hardware. That's an old post, forgot I even left it, wasn't even sober lol..

@florianwicher I think OSX is nice, but beyond audio production, it just didn't serve me. The gaming performance is my problem, Im a gamer. Although I enjoy audio production a lot, I haven't needed a Mac for that in yrs, all the appz are now available on PC.
When I built my workstation my budget was 'half' of what a Mac Pro would cost, was over $5,800! The workstation I've built is spec'd much higher, & only $3,200. Same dual socket Xeons, 24GB, but also dual 6970's. PC was my solution, for now.

The only trouble is the price, many ppl just can't afford it. Sadly, people with Macs are looked up to, but not for the obvious reasons. Our economy is CTD, and a Mac is almost a novelty item now. People think they suck since you can't upgrade them. They are expensive, they CAN run windows programs...but then its not really just a mac. Also since yes u can run games but are limited to your built in video card AND have to install a program just to play them. PC's can go online and download thousands of programs to make movies with for FREE.

I've had it once, for a real, none software related issue. The motherboard of my laptop got bent out of shape from years of abuse. When I say bent, I mean it.. lol, BSOD is -Mostly- caused by hardware faults, and that is -Why- it's there. Though some software faults can trigger it, if it could possibly cause hardware damage.
Don't get me wrong, I don't take -You- for an idiot, I'm just trying to be informative to the best of my knowledge.

Oh By the Way! The BSoD won't be a problem for you windows 7 users! The BSoD Repairs itself!! So like if you get a BsoD. after u restart, a box comes up saying repairing, and everything is fixed.. There are also programs in place to prevent the BsoD in windows 7.. So you mac people! The BsoD cannot be an argument against Windows anymore!! XD

You can only get the BSoD if you have done something incorrect to your system. ie delete system files, download a virus(porn, cracks, torrents), have improper or no drivers, and have run a program or have told it to do something it should be supporting like overclocking to high or running way to many processes.

i have nvr had it on my dell even when i didnt ave VP only this dell crashed but the only time it fucked up was when the hdd messed up and we had in home service so he cane in and instaled a new one but that was a while back oh and my laptop went through hell and back until my bug brother tripped and stepped on it and he put it in the floor and cracked the screen but he already ordered a new one for me so ya i got 190 dollars in upgrades just for halo 2

well mine was not entirely my fault, because through no action of my own, my mobo set the cas latency on my ram to 5-5-5 15, instead of 5-5-5 18, which didn't work too well with my video card. figured it out pretty quick though.
