Oh I'd give anything to watch Bronco again! I haven't seen it since I was 7 and this brings back so many memories. Does anyone have an episode they could upload please?
you and me both girl! I used to think he was the "Bees Knees" next to Kookie of course! Mind you, looking at Bronco now I didn't realize he was so "square lantern" jawed and some of the language was pure corn!!
@TheGillypot Lady, how did you look in a poodle skirt? Did you know at it's peak, there were 23 westerns on TV in 1959. Really! I was seven at the time and packed a red plastic six gun.
I'm not "disowning" anybody. It's not my business to "own" anyone other than myself in the first place. However, any denial of someone else's humanity, especially when it is because they're a member of a racial, ethnic or religious group, is reprehensible - whether it's coming from Jackson, Farrakahn, the KKK, Hitler, Stalin or anyone else.
Did Hardin say or mean ALL international bankers are "sub-human?" Or merely those who behave in an inhumane manner, a manner which is demonstrative of their own hate and intolerance.
Just take a look at the guy's own history. The "Arizona Patriots" led by Hardin in the 1970's and 80's stockpiled weapons and published anti-Semitic materials. I have a feeling that you may be very familiar with the same.
Take a look at his website for yourself. The hard truth that applies for the salt of the Earth, as well as some of the worst monsters history has produced, and some who are among us today, is that we're all "human." We're all capable of great good and great evil. I think the greatest potential for evil in ourselves occurs most when we deny the humanity of any individual, ethnic group or race.
OTOH, Hollywood is filled with standard variety liberals on every issue but Israel and Zionism who have sympathy for every oppressed minority group but Palestinians. Give Hardin credit for going against the grain.
"Going against the grain" is fine and well, and I do have a good deal of sympathy for the Palestinians. They have a much a claim on the land as the Israelis. However, I have a big problem with anyone denying the humanity of any group of people. Refering to "sub-human international bankers" is hate speech of the worst kind. While I would not deny a person of his or her right to espouse their views, history all too painfully reveals the violence and tragedy hate and intolerance lead to.
Sorry to say that it is true. No offense taken at giving tribute to the character. It's possible but sometimes very difficult to separate a person's talent from some pretty extreme views - e.g., John Wayne. I kind of liked Wayne as an actor in some of his films, such as "The Quiet Man," "True Grit" and "The Shootist." Some of his stuff though was vintage right-wing junk, like "Big Jim McClain" (the Duke hunts Commies (and chicks) with James Arness in Honolulu). Ditto for "The Green Berets."
The star of this show, Ty Hardin, went on in the '70s and '80s to leading an anti-government militia-type group espousing pretty blatantly anti-semitic views. Hardin has a web site railing against "sub-human" international banker types while at the same time preaching about "God's love." In other words, he is a whack job who drank the Kool-Aid at some point in his life. His true worship is that of hatred.

Didn't Ty Hardin turn out to be a neo-fascist?

Christ said worse about folks who weren't doing His will and he might not have been using poetic language like Ty.
Another man you must disown? President Andrew Jackson who called the bankers of his time "vipers."

He might have stockpiled weapons, but did he tell lies about purported WMDs
belonging to an unthreatening nation and
kill large numbers of that nation with them?

Sorry to hear that, if true. This is a tribute to the imaginary character only, not the actor.
