infamous is kinda like X-men without the pointless angst. they both use superhuman characters in less of the context of a traditional superhero and more as actual people, they both use the concept of superhuman powers in the context of philosophy and ethics. but infamous takes it a step further, and has a character that is less concerned with wallowing in his past and being a whiny bitch( like wolverine for example) and is more focused on how he is using his powers in the present.

Just to let yall know, I actually went to infamous 2 site, and they confirmed the fire/ice powers will branch off and are upgradeable!!!! They also stated the reason Cole is able to use those powers is because the scientist who created the Ray Sphere created a device that kinda transfers small portions of a individuals power to another person. The choice of wither you choose ice or fire depends on if you're good or bad.
