it's such a pity most of the bands very packing up good music back in the 90's but went down hill in these late periods of time;of course KMFDM isn't necessarily worse than before just different
@gombie I'm not arguing with you, old KMFDM is VERY different from old KMFDM. Esch and Schulz really added something. Then, when they left, they took that with them, but Andy and Jules gave KMFDM something different. And, steve White also gave them a new sound, but since he only appears on Hau Ruck, Tohuvabohu, and Blitz, his additions are limited.
@gombie I agree, Esch And Schulz are different wothout Sascha and Skold. I think Raymond Watts needs to get back into KMFDM. To me, KMFDM's strongest lineup was the WWIII lineup. Raymonds vocals are legendary! Have you seen Slick Idiot do "A Drug Against War"? They really need two guitarists. Schulz on his own isn't enough to do it without sucking.
I really wish I could've seen them on this tour. I believe they had their strongest lineup for Symbols - En Esch, Sascha K, Skold, Raymond Watts, Gunther Schultz
No, this was definitely Germany. I asked KMFDM if they wanted this footage and they said that they've been trying to get it licensed from the German TV station so... there you have it.
@therealweaselfish this was during the SYMBOLS tour in 1997. Im not sure about Germany, but in the states KMFDM was touring with Rammstein (which was Rammsteins first US tour i believe)
I love when artists like him dont take things so seriously. Thats what turns a musician into a legend.
I mean its like Rammstein chasing each other around stage with flamethrowers and rubber dildos... people love that stuff.
its brave, funny, entertaining, innovative, original, unique, enjoyable, artistic, sensational. You have to provide the audience with something extra at a live gig, and KMFDM, and the industrial heroes were, and ARE great at that!

This awesome old KMFDM, but they're even better, what with Jules and Steve and Andy.
Tormundisc00l 2 years ago
True, they're better players, but they don't use the same sounds as the old members.. There isn't really anymore electric drums.
gombie 2 years ago 9
Dude, all of Blitz is electric drums, look it up, dude.
Tormundisc00l 2 years ago
Didn't know that... Well the drums are still VERY different.

Well, schultz and Esch sound different too without sascha and others. They kinda miss each other to perfect themselves.
