You use a Leslie! Wonderful. The nearest I get to that is a Korg simulator pedal. It's pretty good, and a lot easier to carry...
And yes, JLV definitely has killer tone. He used this sound to great effect on the 'Butt Rockin' ' (a classic, I'd say) and 'T-Bird Rhythm' albums, as you know.
Jimmie is playing through an amp custom-built for him by an English guy, I believe - he loved the sound so much he used it on almost every song on this tour (I saw the show a day or two after this one). I like his solo here and also Kim's performance, natch!
Thanks to TEXANOBLUES for this: I used to own the video tape, which was ok quality but the DVD copy I later acquired was pretty poor...
@guitarandharp Looks like a Leslie 16/18 which is what is giving him that effect. I know this sound anywhere .. I use a leslie 16. Not sure in that stack of amps what is powering the leslie. Either way .. JLV has killer tone!!!!!!! If I only knew what he has forgotten.
hey my friend, you've posted this 17 month ago.... now I found it here ! I like the Fabolous Thunderbirds in different ages and changing music-styles !!! great hit !!! more of such music is welcome in my ears!!! peace G.
..oh so nice...my favorite, I love that snare change up at 3:08, for just a spell, then back to 2 n 4. For lack of a better way to describe it..is there a specific term for it?
Thanks allguitarscnc
