Who said he was dead to begin with. According to the Arwingpedia it is possible Scales may have just been knocked out and taken into custody by his traitorous minions. Scales may still be alive in a prison cell somewhere and if he is he could break out. If Scales for some odd reason does return would you want him to only exist for cinema like in this game or would you actually want to fight him?
I pwned this guy in one hit using the Ground Quake move. The battle was over as soon as it started. If you do not attack him he just hops around in a fighting stance begging you to attack him. Despite the fact he has a sword he does not even attack at all. What a pathetic excuse for a boss if you could even consider this a boss.

Why couldn't the final boss be scales? It could have worked out like this: scales is beaten by fox with the staff lunged through him and is given the krazoa spirit. But then scales becomes reincarnated into a krazoa beast due to one of the spirits being his.
That part where I never got to kill scales really titcked me off as well. I mean why have andross as the ending boss? He wasn't present t all in the game till the end!
PLus scales is badass, he had the last krazoa in him XD
this game was awesome, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT SUCKS??!!! you don't get to fight general scales! thats what i thought the ending boss would be! it would be alot better if you had to fight him for the krazoa spirit THEN battle andross! i was so pissed when all i had to do was walk up to him and do nothing. talk about a dissapointment!! but besides that, the game is awesome.

he killed himself cuz his spirit was attached to the Krazoa spirit, I guess. Andross used the Krazoa spirit to help scales gain power, but really, he helped scales just so he could help himself. Once Fox got close to scales, Andross killed scales to give him the Krazoa. Andross then used Krystal to transfer the Krazoan energy to himself to revive himself.... pretty smart, i'll admit.
