I'm a high handicapper, been playing for about a year so basically I know nothing about the game. But on a good day I can drive the ball about 300 yards. For me - what this bloke is saying works. Forget all the bollocks that people tell you about stance, grip, straight arm etc. Just focus on the ball and give it a good whack.

you will hook it, b/c your hands work more when you are trying to Nail it, which means that your hands go ahead of your body movement, and it closes the club face and gives you your hook.

Swinging hard= a lot of people start to grip the club hard when they want to bomb it, this will not allow your hands to release through impact, which will leave the club face open. Causing a slice, or a shot which starts of straight right, then slices even more off target.

the key to hitting the ball hard is not swinging hard, its all in your hips. while your already on youtube watch a video of Ernie Els. He hits the ball far but he does not swing hard, the reason he does is all in his hips. Getting your hips to 45 degrees is the most important part, this was the stupidest advice ever the harder you swing the more you are going to throw off your swing plane

wow... thats not how you hit a far drive dude...first of all, if you dont hit it staight its not going to go far. you have to make good contact. if you miss the sweet spot your obviously not going to hit the ball crisp. you want a low accending drive with good roll. get your tips right.
