Exactly !! If you really listen Jimi interpete his own song, you will hear that he never played them quite the same. The live at the Fillmore East is a really good example of where Jimi was headed with his music. That album, that playing is Jimi at his improvising best !! My friend and l tried to get tickets for that show and they were sold out in an hour. We probably should just gone up to New York and paid for any scalper tickets
What is the matter with all you negative commentators, these are top notch musicians who are interpreting a Hendrix song, its not supposed to sound like HendrixIf its not your cup of tea just tune out
Purple is an interesting album. one has to hand it to jimi. everyone who is anything admits to being touched by jimi at one point of their careers. his work inspired this delightful indian guitar player Prasanna to make an album called Electric Ganesha Land, which is a carnatic style tribute to Jimi.
Ouaou c'était trop bien votre concert à Patrimonio !
Je suis trés content d'avoir pu passé l'after show avec vous :):) Merci beaucoup. Je pense que tu te souviens de moi Cathy ^^ Le petit bonnomme avec le bob !
Nothing Steve Vai has played compares to the astonishing depth and beauty of some of nguyen's recorded solos on cd. Somehow I have a feeling that Nguyen is content to be himself.
Klastek, maybe it's just that your feeble musical mind just can't comprehend people who are pushing boundaries, searching for something NEW, not content to play the same old stuff that has been played for 4o years. Nguyen is an innovator, just like Jimi.
jimiadam, it ain't the same old imbecilic recycled crap that 99.99% of other guitarists would play. It isn't your typical rock guitarists homage to hendrix where they just play a poor man's version of what hendrix played. Nguyen's influences are far broader than just rock and his playing recalls the spirit of Jimi's playing. If Jimi were alive he would dig this guy big time and he'd be bored shit with most ppls attempts to play his songs.
They start from where Jimi too soon stopped. There would be no point in doing the same trip again.

Are you kidding? Although Nguyen Lê is really underrated, you simply cannot say that Steve Vai plays without feeling!
Vai, too, has an extremely broad vision of music. Maybe you've listened to something which was too Metal for you?

Yeah your right, it ain't the same old imbecilic recycled crap that 99.99% of other guitarists would play. It's called being creative.

Nguyen Le... super guitarist
I seen him playing with Jacques Pellen at Glasgow Celtic connections (although it said "Guyen It" on the glasgow concert hall website)
Would have been better if he played his own stuff at the gig... but I'm just being picky(as that is the stuff I know)
not many Jazz guitarist could do this to a Hendrix tune and make it their own style
class act
