Killer Whales typically travel well over 100miles a day. They are debatably the smartest and most proficient hunters on the planet. You cant suppress those instincts. You take this massive king of the sea, place him in a glorified fish tank and use his extreme strength to "splash the audience" and you you're surprised when things go wrong.

They're actually called Orcas, people nicknamed it the "Killer Whale" because of it's un-predictable behavior. Well hmm lets think about that for a moment, us human beings were retarded enough to decide to start capturing WILD animals, take them from their homes and use them for our own entertainment. But you can't blame them, once again they're wild animals, it's in their genetics to be aggressive. Orcas are predators, even if they're trained, they're STILL wild animals.

I don't blame the orcas for being agressive, especially when they're treated like this. but i do agree with you on the fact that you should NEVER trust a "killer whale" because they have un-predictable behavior, are known to be agressive, and are wild animals.

Killer Whales typically travel well over 100miles a day. They are debatably the smartest and most proficient hunters on the planet. You cant suppress those instincts. You take this massive king of the sea, place him in a glorified fish tank and use his extreme strength to "splash the audience" and you you're surprised when things go wrong.

As sad and horrid that it is that these poor animals are kept in such small places, because they are so large, it's despicable the disregard for the fact that this woman died. She had a family, friends, and people are saying she got what she deserved? She worked with the animal, she didn't capture it! And also, though I do believe that the whale exhibits should be shut down because of the animals massive size, you have to realize, we can't just set them free. They would die!

Okay I'm hearing a lot of it was on purpose and release them they don't belong there. What he did was intentional- but let me say this. He did not WANT to kill her. It was a thought of the moment and a bad one. And Sea World should not have had them working with Tilikum when he was clearly agitated and not listening to directions before hand. If the animals were not happy there, I'm pretty sure there would have been a lot more action than this. I'm sorry, but I think they are happy- not killers.

...I don't care about what others say, but if I was that big and I was forced to be in an empty fish bowl the size of a room witouth a T.V or a bed or something but just empty....BELIEVE ME, I would have killed even more people....Its a big tragedy as the trainer didn't had the fault....but is not the Whale's fault either....and one a side-note, would you be happy if some random insects caught you and take you from your habitat to continue your life in a miserable empty room!?....poor trainer :(

From Australia, visited SeaWorld San Diego in 2005. Disgusting. No sympathy for humans killed in this way. If they were true animal lovers they would respect them too much to be involved in this forced captivity and torment. My advice to the Killer Whales is to take out the first row of the audience next time. End of show. Be ashamed Seaworld, you have cause to be. Don't sit in the front row in fact don't attend these shows. This is the only way to stop it. The balls in your court people.
