  • Someone said Lynn Hilary should've sung "Black is the Color," the song about a man in love with a woman with black hair, and Lisa Lambe should've sung "Carolina Rua," the song about a man in love with a redheaded woman, because Lisa Lambe actually has the red hair, and Lynn Hilary has the black hair, even though they sang it the opposite way. To which I say, "They're just singing the songs to each other."

  • @Tigresswoman97 Nice :) I didn't think of Lisa Lambe singing this (actually she was blonde before joining CW) but I would LOVE Lynn singing Black Is The Colour. Of all the girls, she is the most versatile IMHO and that song is truly perfect for her voice.

  • ahhhhh that Lynn Hilary. This one is the best I ever saw of her. ^^ Wish she was still in the group. Fantastic voice and gorgeous. :P

  • I was there at the live Filming in the Wicklow Mountains, one of the best songs that night, Lynn, the Choir, the moves, everything was perfect, unfortunately the song is not on the DVD

  • *pauses due to pure amazement* :O .................man,if theres a woman out there remotely like her,i want to marry her :) (best voice i've ever heard) :D........oh and by FAR my favorite singer.

  • @SparkFlea i signed in especially to like your comment and reply to it to say i TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!

  • @SparkFlea I agree with both you and @vishrats and @lm3741 - her leading to Non C'è Piú is unbelievable and it has become one of my all-time favorite songs. But it's hard to find on YouTube. I even have it as my main ring tone.

  • Why would they cut this beautiful song out of the DVD?

  • i love this song :)

  • I am a huge fan of celtic woman in general and my two favorites are : lynn hillary and lisa kelly, it is incredible how beautiful and talented they are

it's always a so great moment to learn and to see this incredible group

    celtic woman for ever

  • Where did you get this video? It wasn't on the DVD.

  • How can I purchase the DVD? when and where this was performed?

    any help is appreciated...

  • @yanek22 Read the description, push on "show more"

  • Wow I miss you, Lynn!! I booked arena seats at Tokyo Dome of Celtic Woman Japan tour in this October. Can you join as a special guest? Tokyo is an interesting city to do sights. Tokyu 109 (ask members sang Princess Toyotomi) is attractive mall!

  • Was this song on the dvd? I don't remember this 1.

  • @Karen21242 It wasn't on the DVD because of copyright problems. They couldn't get rights for it.

  • @LisaKellySingerHolic

Awww, sadness! Eh, at least they got "Pie Jesu" : )

  • There needs to be a directors cut where ALL the songs are on the DVD. We don't want to miss a single one.

  • Caroline with the red hair. Thats the meaning of the title.

  • she's beautiful and so is her voice.

  • does anyone know any other CW songs that we can not find on both their CD & DVD?

  • Comment removed

  • A better translTion could be "Girl with the red hair"

  • It means Carolina with the red hair.

  • lovely song but I like the version on her CD

  • Actually this song is on Lynn's CD if you can manage to track it down.

  • 2 people couldn't find Carolina Rua

  • Beautiful. A better quality I have never found. I'm sorry, that this nice song is not on the DVD. Remeber me on a beautiful amazing night in Ireland. :) :) :)

  • Lynn Hilary truly has a beautiful voice. Her phrasing is so delicate and graceful. I wish she'd been given more solos during her time in Celtic Woman!

  • its such a happy, fun performance! very irish. love it :)

  • Talk about natural beauty at its finest.

  • Rua sounds more like a latin surname...

  • @vabosalam Rua is Irish, meaning "red haired", so Carolina Rua is red haired Caroline. :)

  • i see something close to a penny whistle yet it is not... what is the instrument?

  • Thanks for posting this incredible footage filmed at Powerscourt castle, County Wicklow, Ireland in June 2009! The song was performed on tour during the Isle of Hope tour. It was recorded eariler by Lynn on her solo album Take Me With You--one of many great songs on that album!

  • she is so beautiful, that's all i can say

  • @MrTreyman1000 As close as to perfect as one can be...

  • What's this song about?

  • @kelceejofarra It should be about teen loves =)

  • @kelceejofarra "Carolina Rua" literally means red-haired Caroline in Irish. :-) It's about a tricky little lass by that name who is driving someone mad with her teasing ways. LOL.

  • @beatlebugger Cool and interesting info. Thank-you

  • @kelceejofarra It's about a girl called Carolina who has lovely red hair, who is playful and young and beautiful. The song is from a man's perspective, who loves her and hopes she will love him back. They got Lynn to sing it because she actually has red hair... It's fun isn't it? :)

  • @Hayleybloss77 not to mention she seems playful and is young and beautiful

  • @kelceejofarra learn english.

  • @sfinga2004

Um, excuse me? I know English, thank you very much.

  • @kelceejofarra the song is about a girl named Carolina Rua and how this man is infatuated by the girl. no other woman appeals to him except her and he is willing to difficult paths for her.

the song is from a male perspective, even though the singer is female.

[this is what i think the song is about; others may not agree]

  • @wildcrzyangel no, her name is Carolina, rua means "red-haired"! at least that's what I've been told

  • @ddthienvuong Oh Cool! I did not know that Rua meant that. thanks for telling me.

  • @wildcrzyangel you're welcomed

  • Okay that was hyper-cuteness. Especially the bow at the end.

  • This song was originally written by Thom Moore from the group Midnight Well. As far as I gather they disbanded long ago. Lynn Hilary does a great job on it, as usual. I also like Maread's rhythmic moves to go with the violin's swinging dynamics.

  • she is my favorite singer in the group, she is so pretty and has an amazing voice!

  • what a great idea to form a new group with lynn, alex, orla and meav. they certainly didn't get the exposure and credit they deserved when they were CW. they already have the name recognition. now, if they could get someone to back them i think they would be an instant success.

  • @32paulie Orla and Meav were already famed soloists in Ireland even before being Celtic Woman.

  • @32paulie I would too like the idea, but unlikely to happen since all of them, except Lynn left Celtic Woman because they prefer being soloist more. (Lynn said she just simply missed Ireland and her family)

  • My favorite Celtic Woman... Oh gosh, I miss her...

  • @dougchavo: yeah.. me too. :(

  • Lynn is my favorite and her voice is amazing.

  • She is too gorgeous, it baffles me as to how a woman could be so angelic as Lynn. Looking at her leaves me speechless. mein Gott!

  • Here's an idea: Pull together Lynn, Alex, Orla, and Meav to create a new group. Wouldn't that be a dream team.

  • I love this song. cant help it

  • Where have you found this video?

  • @thasingingbee It was on Amazon :)

  • @Merlenzio Amazon? so did you have to pay?

  • @ddthienvuong No, it was a promotional video for one of the CW pages on Amazon (a real luck since it's not on the dvd due to copyright issues) :)

To buy the mp3 version of this live performance (unfortunately not a studio version) instead you'll have to pay, it is an Amazon exclusive.

  • @Merlenzio do you know any of their other 'secret' songs that aren't available on CDs or DVDs? thanks

  • @ddthienvuong Some of the songs from tours, such as "Have I Told You Lately" or "Walking The Night / Give Me Your Hand" or "My Heart Was Home Again" have never been recorded. Maybe WTN/GMYH will be on next cd.

  • @Merlenzio and "a spaceman came travelling" too, right? however thanks for the informations!

  • @ddthienvuong That song, with "Symphonie", "Forever Young" and "Wenn Du In Meinen Traumen", is on the german edition of the Songs From The Heart cd.

    You're welcome :)

  • @Merlenzio Oh, 1 more thing, sorry for disturbing you, but can you please answer me few more thing?: can you tell me all the Celtic Woman's songs that we can not find on BOTH their CDs and DVDs? does the German version have DVD? if yes, what are the additional songs on it? and do you know any other editions that have songs that are not available on the original version? if yes, can you tell me what are those? thanks!

  • @ddthienvuong Let me see.

"Celtic Woman", "A New Journey", "The Greatest Journey" and "Songs From The Heart" (first edition) have songs that are basically all on respective dvd, except:

    - I Dreamt I Dwelt In Marble Halls (Méav, only on CW dvd)

    - My Lagan Love (Mairead violin solo, only on CW dvd)

    - You Raise Me Up (original lineup, only on CW dvd)

    - Vivaldi's Rain (Chloe, only on ANJ cd)

    - You Raise Me Up (with Orla and Lynn, only on TGJ cd)

  • @Merlenzio

    - Carolina Rua (Lynn) & True Colors (Alex) only SFTH dvd

    - Beyond The Sea (short promo version, only on japanese ACC)

    - The Sky And The Dawn And The Sun & Mo Ghile Mear (without Hayley, only on TGJ cd)

    - All the new Lullaby Songs (only on Lullaby album)

    - Some of the Christmas songs from the ACC dvd are not on the ACC album, but on Celtic Family Christmas EP

    - Princess Toyotomi (two versions, only on Believe, exclusive japan album)

There's no DVD for the german bonus songs of SFTH.

  • @Merlenzio Carolina Rua wasn't on the DVD.

  • Comment removed

  • @Merlenzio Seems like there're some misunderstanding here, I was talking about songs like new Carolina Rua, walking the night,...(new songs, German or any other edition additional songs) that are NOT available on BOTH the STANDARD CD & DVD versions, I'm just trying to ask you that do you know any songs like that? again: songs that we can NOT find on BOTH of their STANDARD CD & DVD versions, thankyou!

  • Just the tour songs. WTN/GMYH, My Heart Was Home Again, Have I Told You Lately.

For any other info that maybe I don't know, you can ask on their forum.

  • @Merlenzio Thankyou for the informations and your patience, that's what I need! :)

  • @Merlenzio that's fine, thanks for the helps :)

  • @thasingingbee

Not on DVD due to song rights. Not approved for resale is basically it. Its on her persoanl CD though. I like this version better.

  • i lovvvvvvvee her! shes my favorite celtic women and she has the most beautiful voice and shes sooo beautiful <333

  • I can't believe this song and Alex Sharpe's You'll Be In My Heart was left out of the "Songs From The Heart" DVD. These were both terrific performances. Certainly couldn't be because of licensing or other problems because they would not have chosen to use them if they couldn't include them in the DVD. Anybody know?

  • I honest to god love this song soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Much!!!!!!!! I cant stop listening to it!

  • hopefully they will one day have a tour with all of the current and former celtic women. that would be EPIC

  • I want to go to Carolina Rua !!! 8D

Beautiful to my ears and eyes.

  • Man she is so hot. Look like a tall curvy brunette version of isla fisher

  • I love Lynn, she should not have quit. I hope the new member are enthusiastic as Lynn.

  • Lynn quit Celtic Woman 2 gals now :/ A record of 5 girls have left Celtic Woman!

  • OMG!!! Lynn is so beautiful!!! This song is amazing! I can't stop to watch it...

  • lynn is carolina rua :)

  • Aw. that;s terrible. I saw them in the US with Chloe, Lisa, Lynn and Mairead. I hope they can add someone to bring it to 4 plus Mairead. Meav was wonderful and Lynn was a good addition. I hope they can go on. I'll buy tickets and find them always.

  • My heart was literally broken when learning the truth that Lynn decided to leave Celtic Woman. T_T

She was gradully growing on me because she and Meav are my favourite sopranos. However, I think I should support her decision and solo career. I wish her all the best for the future.

_ What are we supposed to do now ? Will the rest (Chloe, Lisa and Mairead) disintegrate in the end as well ? PLEASE don't leave us. We never want Celtic Woman to simply disappear like that.

    PLEASE . T_____T

  • @Theclowcard I hope the group doesn't disintergrate... and on the celticwoman official website, it states to keep checking out the website to hear who will be joining them on the 2011 North American tour. There will be a tour next year... hopefully they will find a replacement for lynn and add one more to fill the void, bringing it back to 5 girls. All we can do is hope for the best!!!

  • @kaylinn765

They announced in their newsletter that they will continue the tour with a new member and welcome someone into the family.

  • Noooo. I just found out! :(( Totally HEARTBROKEN!!!!

  • shes leaving celtic woman

  • FANTASTIC VOICE! GREAT PERFORMANCE!

  • what wonderful job on that song. lynn is so so good and boy is she cute. what a pretty lady.

  • I like the interaction between Lynn and Mairead. So cool!

  • Well, Lynn and this one is always a favorite. When they were here, they didn't perform it. :( But I waited for it. Nonethelessl, they were just super. Maybe next year. ;)

  • can anyone post lyrics for this song please?

  • I miss Maev.

  • Does anybody happen to know what key this is in?

  • @PastryMagician420 This song appears to be in A-flat, according to the keyboard sitting next to me.

  • @bretman444 Well it appears my keyboard's batteries are low, lol! The actual key is B-flat major, according to an online virtual keyboard, which I beleive much more.

  • I love her Voice ^ ^

  • WHY is this not on the cd?! I want it.

  • @SchwarzeWitwe2 Many of us want it :D If you live in the US, you can buy the song on Amazon, they have the ecxlusive for this version.

  • @Merlenzio I'm American, but I live in Australia.

  • @SchwarzeWitwe2 Uhmm maybe you could ask this to someone who lives in America. I think I'll do it this way, you know... It's the only way XD

  • @SchwarzeWitwe2 I think they purposefully did not include certain songs on certain versions so you'd buy the extras, if you buy the DVD from amazon you're allowed to view a Full Screen version of this song. True Colors is only on the DVD, You'll Be In My Heart only on PBS. other songs were only available through iTunes or AmazonMP3.

  • I saw a magazine with a girl that looked just like, her exept her hair was blond.

  • The most beautiful girls in the world are Irish. I want to go home so bad. I am third generation American but still Ireland is my home. I have cancer and time is short. Please let me go home. I miss a place I have never been so very much.

  • @satinbarbi : So sorry. Time is short for us all, but it seems shorter for some. I hope you get your wish.

  • @satinbarbi : cancer for one so young is awful. :( I am 67 now with a heart problem that will do it for me in not so long. So I emphasize. At least you should have your last wish before things catch up to you. I really do wish that for you. And I agree. It seems that the most beautiful girls are Irish. I hope you can go home and meet it just for once. :( Good luck. I hope your wish is granted.

  • @mimiller8 : bad typist and new computer. *empathize. also not much on spelling. :P

  • Actually, Merlenzio, you are mistaken. On the Celtic Woman web page, among the cd's listed for sale, is one from Lynn Hilary named "Take me with you". It lists Carolina Rue among the songs. It is much better in video though. You can see them all, and Lynn is gorgeous. I saw them night before last in person. :D Thanks for posting it.

  • @mimiller8 It is on Lynn's CD, but the arrangement is slightly different and there is no fiddle, no choir, no orchestra :) I meant that the Celtic Woman version was never released on CD or DVD, and it's true. There is just an mp3 exclusive release for Amazon.com

  • @Merlenzio : Well, the one you posted just has to be the best, as the fiddle, the flute and the other backup people just add alot. Thanks again for posting it.

  • @mimiller8 You're welcome :)

  • I love this performance and Lynn Hilary's classical trained (Irish) voice. And the song is just so up lifted and bubbly (happy) and full of energy. I am very pleased with Lynn's voice and Celtic Woman decision to having her join them but don't get me wrong CW fans their all great. I love that in a song, where there's great instruments and vocals. Where you just can't help but get up and move around and dance.

  • Lynn, this is just great. We'll see you in Oklahoma tomorrow night. I can hardly wait. :D

  • Well, Lynn is just awesome. and Mairead always is. But i noticed some of the backup people in this one. Just after 2:00 in this, a girl in green with just a devastating smile is just behind Mairead. And then there is the guy on the flute. ::D He's super. So many of them go to make a really wonderful presentation. :)

  • There were two fairies on stage. One was singing and another one played the fiddle for her. I rubbed my eyes because I thought I were still asleep.

  • Lynn did a great job in this song . I am glad to know her as a close freind. God sure bless her in so many ways .

  • I hadn't found this number before, nor had I heard Lynn. I'm glad that I did. Both just become instant favorites. I hope she is with them for the concert I'm going to. (Though I do miss Meav and Hayley also).

  • I have tickets to them for 6 August. I hope Lynn is with them. She is great. Tomorrows task is to print out maps. It's a 6 hour drive to a city I don't know. If I can just find the hotel, the rest should be easy and just a wonderful end to that week. :)

  • ahhhh, that Lynn. I can imagine auditions for this group must be something else. "Well, girl you have a not bad voice, but you are not so beautiful that you make my heart stop. Sorry. NEXT." :P

  • how old is she

  • @tubulat123456789 Lynn was born April 21, 1982 she is 28 yeas old

  • I would give some edvice lynn needs to sing a little louder

  • Lynn waz quick to get on and off stage

  • qxw66 and tubulat123456789: You guys are perverts.

  • Thanks for this tune. Lynn is wonderful here. And, to think I've actually read comments on other videos where the people were bagging on Lynn and her voice. One person even said they hated Lynn's voice, which I find completely absurd. I'm mean, we should hate prejudice, bigotry, house rent, and taxes, not people. It takes all types, I guess. Thanks for sharing this great song with us!

  • @onegnarlyguitar I totally agree with you, and I saw that comment. I understand people have their own opinions blah blah blah but that comment pissed me off. They're probably just angry because they miss Meav and they're taking it out on poor Lynn! I think Lynn is an amazing addition to CW. I miss Meav too, but I love Lynn just as much. I saw her live twice, and she was AWESOME!!! And I LOVE her rendition of Dulaman!!!!! I'm sooo sad Alex left. I hope Lynn doesn't leave anytime soon!

  • @TheSingingSweater Thanks. It's always good to know that there are others out there who are open-minded and not willing to be told what to like and dislike. I would have to say that most of the mean comments that have been made regarding Lynn are based purely on, as you said, anger, or even jealousy. By the way, is that Lisa Kelly with you in your pic?

    Take care,

    Sean

  • From 47 to 54-I now for some reason, understand the song"I Like the Way You Move", she's quite enchanting.

  • Bravaa, such charm!!

  • @MrGutsy1200 Very fun song! I love the tune, the fun, and most of all the voice!

  • i just do love this sog is so cute, and lynn is so kind of free do dance and shows all her charm.

anyway, i'm still missind meav too

  • She's good in this video, here she has charm and a real performer!

  • She sang this at the concert last year! It was awesome! Cute song :)

  • Lynn has a good body.... Chloe has a good voice

  • 1:10 NICE ASS!

  • @tubulat123456789 Oh cmon its blurry!lol

  • Celtic Woman showing their versatility with a bit of Celt-Mex. Lynn Hilary sings great, accompanied by Mairead Nesbitt's always great fiddlin. It is unfortunate this song did not make the DVD or CD.

  • This is the most beautiful i have ever seen in my life. She is absolutly stunnin !!!

  • Lynn and Mairead together! Beauties the both of them

  • Love it! Pity that it's not on CD nor DVD...

  • Comment removed

  • Lynn reminds me of Meav. Not in looks of course, but she sings in a similar style, and her gestures and expressions are very much the same.

  • @BoiledCustard They're both classically-trained sopranos =)

  • @Merlenzio That must be why they are both my favourites!

  • @BoiledCustard

I believe that she was to replace Meav, I went to their concert last month and she song Dulaman. Lynn did a really great job with it too.

  • @BoiledCustard She's amazing,...I'm blessed to say I will see Her in CO. The antisipation is killinn Me!

  • @BoiledCustard Yeah, she does :) I still miss Meav SO much though, and I believe her ringing voice can never be replaced as that high trill above the other girls.

  • Go Mairead. Go Lynn.

  • This song is on her solo cd "Take Me With You"

  • @MusicLover12134 Yep, but the arrangement is different.

  • I have the deluxe CD Edition and it has the song The "LOST" Rose Fantasia; there is no Carolina Rua. In the DVD, it has The "LAST" Rose Fantasia. wierd...

Wished they also included their new rendition of You Raise Me Up and Pie Jesu in the CD as well.

  • You can find the ultimate version of You Raise Me Up and Pie Jesu on their 2008 cd, The Greatest Journey :) Notice that YRMP features Orla instead of Alex, since she still wasn't in the group ;)

  • @xxscaryspicexx They always put more on the DVD edition, than on the CD. I have the CD of The Greatest Journey, and I wish they had put Spanish Lady, and At the Ceili on the CD. I love those songs!

  • this song is featurted on the cd, i have it,

  • @bigsis314 ??? i have the cd too and it isn't on there

  • well i think i got a weird copy because mine has carolina rua and also insted of the LOST rose fantasia its the LAST rose fantasta so i dont no....

  • It is NOT featured on any cd. If it was, the official website of the girls should have mentioned it.

The only way to get this song is to purchase it on Amazon as MP3 download.

  • Carolina is my cousin's name!!!! :)
