First of all there have been many hollywood films which portray Arabs in a good light there are three which involve Anthony Quinn and a recent one about Saladin and the crusades.

Secondly those streriotypes he talked about do exist in the Arab world

Double Standards Arab governments and cultures have.

It is required by LAW in some Arab nations for citizens and tourists alike to abide by their dress code, yet refuse to allow govt. of the nations they migrated to, to ban certain pieces of clothing and have an uproar about it.

This is one of many examples of the bad experiences I've had dealing with certain Arab people.

@gaieve but on the same token, there are very lovely Arab people, who've assimilated and grown accustomed to the culture of the country they live in (I'm referring to Australia), without having lost their heritage and identity as an Arab.

Also, Western Cultures can learn from the modesty Arabs are trying to achieve...referring to men and women dressing like they're going to the beach, but on a daily basis.

Excellent Movie. Dr. Shaheen has definitely given me some fruitful information. I used to be so hurt by the depictions of blacks in movies, usually produced by Jews, e.g. Al Jolson. The Zionist seem to focus on the differences between groups and exploit that difference for their own profit. In "Sleeper Cell," that is a Jewish actor doing all that anti-american ranting. There is certainly truth to this and many people may benefit from seeing this but it is also VERY focused on ONE aspect of the american film industry. American cinema also misportrays east asians, latinos, africans, etc., woman, sex, other religions, bla bla, but movies aren't text books, they aren't meant to be factual and neutral and please everyone, they are engaging stories that also happen to strongly reflect aspects of the culture that make them.

Yeah there are some American's just like there are people in every country who are racist. But I gauruntee you there are just as many racists if not many many more in the middle east. What would happen to me if I sat on a corner in virtually any muslim country and read the Torah. At very least, in a country like turkey, I'd get spit on. At worst, my head would be rolling.
