@mmafyasco i'm not an idiot, i was referring to his punching speed and explosiveness which he lacks. i know he has god cardio and all but he can't match gsp when it comes down to how fast he can punch/kick/take down. plus he tends to leave his face unprotected when he starts throwing those power hooks, i think gsp's gonna expose him on that.
look i also think GSP will win, if he tries to outwrestle him, take him down for points, but not really commit to anything because he doesnt want to get swept & end up submitted
& yes the diaz brothers typically start slow, if you look at all of their wins, they usually lost the first round, but they are nick is so difficult to put away & has an iron head & after a couple minutes he just turns up the pace & he keeps turning up the pace until you're slow & gassed

No way to act in a professional sport. Diaz's boxing is good but not good enough to get passed GSP. He wants to provoke his opponents and let them punch theirselfes out and then he is going break them.(He has the chin and condition to do this) BJ Penn said himself that Nick is the best boxer in MMA. I don't know if he's the best(JDS is right up there) GSP will be scared to death to box with Diaz you will see.
@ottl2 The only time GSP jabbed someone to death was Koscheck. It worked very good because Koscheck relies much to much on his right hand and power punches. Nick Diaz has a totally different style, he has an extremely high punching volume and he's not that guy who will get disrupt by a jab. I think GSP will grind out a decision. But if this would be a fight without time limit I would bet my house on Nick.

The only thing I dread about GSP vs Diaz is GSP laying on top of him for 5 rounds because nick doesn't really even try to defend the takedown. If GSP goes in there to win rather than just not lose though it should be a great fight.

@ParadigmOfRuin I think you misunderstand a large part of the fanbase when they say they hate watching GSP lay and pray. We love the ground game when they're trying to win, but when they're just keeping position (stalling) and pretending to throw little fake strikes chest on chest that is not what MMA is all about. And GSP does that A LOT. We want the old GSP, the one that cared about martial arts and winning the fight decisively, not just scoring more points.

It really could go either way; if gsp goes for the take down and lays on top and doesn't try to advance position it would go to him, if gsp decides to advance position diaz would seize the opportunity in an opening to sweep or stand up. if it's a stand up battle, it's likely to go to diaz

GSP chose NOT to wrestle Jake Sheilds, because he thought he could knock Sheilds out, which he couldn't. If GSP actually stands for more than a couple minutes total with Diaz in this fight I will be very impressed. Like I said GSP is scared of Diaz's stand up, and will just lie on him for 25min.

Diaz did exactly what I thought he'd do, he'll do the same to GSP when they fight in Feburary. GSP's a damn good fighter but I think Diaz's aggressive style and gas tank will make all the difference. He can strike with GSP on the feet and submit him on the ground. GSP will just have to pick his poision. Should be a damn good fight either way. Feel bad for Condit though. Yes true. Gsp will try to stand with diaz at first, nick will rattle him with shots, gsp will try a half hearted take down which will fail, and then lose confidence and panic. He might try a couple more half hearted take downs, but when he fails again, he will give up. Nick will then do the same as he does to everyone. I will then smile and enjoy the tears of gsp huggers.
GSP is mad that Diaz fucked BJ up striking... GSP lost the 1st BJ fight, maybe not on paper but those judges made a horrible decision. BJ beat GSP in the striking department, which is why GSP wrestle-fucked BJ in the rematch. GSP won't stand with Diaz, he'll look like a rookie. @drewdrew245 You make some good points but once they are on the ground GSP will have to watch out for submission attempts. It's alot easier to have ground control over opponents who can't submit u. He won't be able to be as aggressive on the ground as usual. And Diaz has some sick submissions. If Diaz works on his take down defense he could stuff GSP's attempts and keep things on the feet. GSP won't be able to keep up with Diaz's workrate, reach and boxing skill if it stays standing.

@ottl2 Just judging on what Diaz said and how he said it to respond to what White said... He looked and sounded like he was panicing and he is just a gangster wannabe... No way to act in a professional sport. Diaz's boxing is good but not good enough to get passed GSP. If you knew anything about boxing you would realize Diaz makes a lot of wrong moves and leaves a lot of openings. GSP is the one fighter that can react to that and jab him to death. @ottl2 The only time GSP jabbed someone to death was Koscheck. It worked very good because Koscheck relies much to much on his right hand and power punches. Nick Diaz has a totally different style, he has an extremely high punching volume and he's not that guy who will get disrupt by a jab. I think GSP will grind out a decision. But if this would be a fight without time limit I would bet my house on Nick.

We love the ground game when they're trying to win, but when they're just keeping position (stalling) and pretending to throw little fake strikes chest on chest that is not what MMA is all about. And GSP does that A LOT. We want the old GSP, the one that cared about martial arts and winning the fight decisively, not just scoring more points.

It really could go either way; if gsp goes for the take down and lays on top and doesn't try to advance position it would go to him, if gsp decides to advance position diaz would seize the opportunity in an opening to sweep or stand up. if it's a stand up battle, it's likely to go to diaz

GSP chose NOT to wrestle Jake Sheilds, because he thought he could knock Sheilds out, which he couldn't. Diaz did exactly what I thought he'd do, he'll do the same to GSP when they fight in Feburary. GSP's a damn good fighter but I think Diaz's aggressive style and gas tank will make all the difference. He can strike with GSP on the feet and submit him on the ground. GSP will just have to pick his poision. Should be a damn good fight either way. Feel bad for Condit though. He's a great guy for stepping aside but how many times do u get to fight for the belt. he might be the next Rashad.

@drewdrew245 You make some good points but once they are on the ground GSP will have to watch out for submission attempts. It's alot easier to have ground control over opponents who can't submit u. He won't be able to be as aggressive on the ground as usual. And Diaz has some sick submissions. If Diaz works on his take down defense he could stuff GSP's attempts and keep things on the feet. GSP won't be able to keep up with Diaz's workrate, reach and boxing skill if it stays standing.
