i just came back from orlando and went to epcot and went on this ride get a fast past if you go to the park or you may not get on it was the most amazing ride i will never forget it was like being in a glider soaring above the landscape below i can still see myself on it a once in a lifetime experience
And this is why Disney parks always dominate in theme park attendance every year. You can go to virtually any park and ride some big,fast, looping coaster that is just like any other big, fast looping coaster,(nothing against them. I love them) but how many parks can you go to and see rides so incredibly well themed as this? They focus on making their rides more of an experiance than, you know, just another ride.

Does the thing you sit in actually move? Like, I know it's just a simulator but does it tilt forwards and stuff, and also, on the pre-ride video, it showed the seats lifting up, how high do they go? :3

I rode this when I was in Disney World a few months ago!! It was AWESOME!!! I was scared a little when the ride started to go up. I was crying a little bit. But, I got used to it, and loved it. Me, my dad, and little brother we're in the back row. It was SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!
Besides the Great Movie Ride, this is my favorite ride at Disneyworld. It is so amazing. Its feels like you're really there. :) You can feel the wind and smell the pine trees and oranges. It's amazing. There is no other feeling like it. Best. Ride. Ever.

To me it is the best ride in all of Disney World. I am 36 and have done this ride 8 times in the last 2 years( trips). I get such a feeling of overwhelming joy and happiness when I ride this. Maybe thankful for everything in my life and glad I live in a free world. It is a goosebump ride for me I know that.
this is literally the worst ride i have ever been on. if you like taking naps, this ride is for you. i was expecting the most amazing simulation i have ever seen, but there were no transitions and i could see the peoples feet in the rows in front of me which ruined the entire aura of the ride. i would have rather gone on its a small world and had it break down than go on this garbage ride again. it's just a huge disappointment for all the commotion that was made about it.
@cataglottism also the smells, although really nice, would have been a lot better if they were consistent throughout the ride instead of in three frames. it could have been a fantastic ride and made a lot more exciting but lets face it..there are WAY more things that are actually worth a 70 minute wait time..like getting your picture taken with cinderella.

@marym2011 no its just that everyone talked it up so much and it would have at least been nice to see a coherent, flowing video as opposed to as choppy as it was. disney has always had such an attentiveness for detail and i feel like they were just really careless with this ride. i love a lot of the non-thrill rides there, i just feel like this was not their greatest achievement in the least. they have non-thrills that are a thousand times better and i cant justify a 120 minute wait for this.

@cataglottism Fair enough. I always hear young kids I work with "diss" Disney roller coasters because they don't have "Loops" or whatever. I guess I am so happy to be down there when I am able to go that I could ride anything and be ecstatic. However, the first thing I do when I get to Epcot is fast pass Soarin and then hit the Rose and Crown for some martinis. After a few trips around the countries... Soarin rocks!

Disney World is the place of your dreams. If you never went as a kid... well you missed the trip of a lifetime. I like the part when your waiting to go on soarin, theres this interactive game thing. My favorite was the bird race! :D

I FLIPPING LOVE THIS RIDE, reccomend it to anyone! I went to Disney in 2008 (I'm from England so it was a rare opportunity) and I fell in love with this, am dying to go back, the smells and feelings you get are AMAZING, this, mission space, expedition everest, test track, rock n roller coaster, and space/splash mountain are by far my favourites, LOVE WALT DISNEY WORLD!

I teared up @ the part when they fly over the carrier, I always wanted to be an airforce pilot but, I have bad eye that would not allow me to fly jets. I kinda felt like I was there for a moment, even though it was a naval carrier. Awesome Ride.
That ride was amazing. Even though I knew that it was just a ride, it felt pretty real- loads of people kept lifting their legs as if they were going to hit the trees!
Amazing ride. Loooooooooooooong line. Even when its dead at Epcot this line is still well over an hour usually, partially because of all the fastpass that they hand out for this ride.

Right - just experienced Soarin' for the first time during the holidays - there's really no way to capture the experience no matter how good your camera is.
It's really well done. It's a simulator ride for people who don't like simulator rides. I normally get queasy on them, didn't have any problem with Soarin'.
@disneylove221 you don't move, but it really feels like you're moving, and as been said before, you can smell it, and feel the breeze, its awesome :) but not recommended for people scared of heights!!
@disneylove221 The seats move out and up to get you in place where your feet are off the floor for a more authentic hang gliding experience, it kind of feels like an elevator (a real one, not the Tower of Terror elevator). Once you are in place the glider leans back and sideways along with the movie to make you feel like you are flying. Then it moves you back down when the movie is done. It's all very gentle. That is the extent of the vehicle movement.

@disneylove221 Not exactly. It's hard to explain. You sit in suspended chairs and buckle in, and the rows of chairs move so that everone can see the screen and is suspended above the ground. Then, the seats tilt with the screen so you feel as though you are truly hang-gliding through California. My description doesn't do it justice; this ride is a BLAST!!! But be sure to get there super-early to fastpass it and bring a book or two; even the fastpass line is LONG!
Does somebody know the name of a part of the music of the exit queue il florida ( this ong sounds like a chorus or severals vocalists signing an hymn or something like that ) . If someone knows something about this music, it will be really nice to let me know :D
when i get to go at the end of april till a few days in may i will recommend it to my group. im in the marching band in my school and my directors planned a trip here to be in a parade. soarin was my absolute favorite ride and i will try to convince my group to go on it.
This is my absolute favorite ride in all of Disney World (including Universal). Notice how Disney appeals to your sense of sight and sound (and on this ride smell as well!)? I'm going there tomorrow and will get on this ride as many times as possible.
depends on when you get there. I got there really early so I was on the first ride. but as I passed the line on the way out...it was already maybe a 2 hour wait?
i went on this ride last saturday and it just took my breathe away, my eyes was gettin teary cuz it was so beautiful and the music is just amazing,u never knew places all over the world can so beautiful, its the best ride in disney world

This ride is amazing! I couldn't believe how basic it was and did not expect it! I thought it was fantastic and if I had to sum America up this would be it! Such an amazing ride!

amazing - did you smell oranges when in the citrus grove and pine trees when they were kayaking down the river? I LOVE this experience - just one week and we go back to WDW!!! Fast pass here we come

@irishmom58 God i love that ride. I remember being there at the opening and it took 3 HOURS to get in! It was horrific lol! Amazing ride though :D

Right - just experienced Soarin' for the first time during the holidays - there's really no way to capture the experience no matter how good your camera is.
It's really well done. It's a simulator ride for people who don't like simulator rides. I normally get queasy on them, didn't have any problem with Soarin'.

@disneylove221 you don't move, but it really feels like you're moving, and as been said before, you can smell it, and feel the breeze, its awesome :) but not recommended for people scared of heights!!

@disneylove221 The seats move out and up to get you in place where your feet are off the floor for a more authentic hang gliding experience, it kind of feels like an elevator (a real one, not the Tower of Terror elevator). Once you are in place the glider leans back and sideways along with the movie to make you feel like you are flying. Then it moves you back down when the movie is done. It's all very gentle. That is the extent of the vehicle movement.

@disneylove221 Not exactly. It's hard to explain. You sit in suspended chairs and buckle in, and the rows of chairs move so that everone can see the screen and is suspended above the ground. Then, the seats tilt with the screen so you feel as though you are truly hang-gliding through California. My description doesn't do it justice; this ride is a BLAST!!! But be sure to get there super-early to fastpass it and bring a book or two; even the fastpass line is LONG!

Does somebody know the name of a part of the music of the exit queue il florida ( this ong sounds like a chorus or severals vocalists signing an hymn or something like that ) . If someone knows something about this music, it will be really nice to let me know :D

when i get to go at the end of april till a few days in may i will recommend it to my group. im in the marching band in my school and my directors planned a trip here to be in a parade. soarin was my absolute favorite ride and i will try to convince my group to go on it.

This is my absolute favorite ride in all of Disney World (including Universal). Notice how Disney appeals to your sense of sight and sound (and on this ride smell as well!)? I'm going there tomorrow and will get on this ride as many times as possible.

depends on when you get there. I got there really early so I was on the first ride. but as I passed the line on the way out...it was already maybe a 2 hour wait?

i went on this ride last saturday and it just took my breathe away, my eyes was gettin teary cuz it was so beautiful and the music is just amazing,u never knew places all over the world can so beautiful, its the best ride in disney world
