no bad experiences for me the only flight experience i have had was they over booked my 6 hour flight from New York to BC Canada so the up graded me to business class!!
1/18 going back to Fairbanks from Salt Lake with a stop in Seattle. 1st 2 flights from salt lake were canceled got a flight to Portland then Seattle, flight from Portland was canceled got booked on another, was delayed missed the Fairbanks flight. had to sleep in airport all the flights to Fairbanks were canceled or i was bumped got a flight to anchorage then to Fairbanks the Seattle to anchorage was late missed the last flight slept in anchorage and was bumped off 2 more flights. arrived 1/20!
You're lucky to be able to hang out with Meghan! She seems like a cool person to hang with! Also, you may not have noticed, but she's really pretty too! =)
a few years ago i actually flew to Utah as well and a bunch of random creepy guys kept either talking to me or trying to make conversation with me....I forgot how long the flight was but whatever anyways i was just playing my mario games on my ds and stuff and this guy i didnt know was just like whatcha playing there? and im just like..uh mario...but in my head i was like STRANGER DANGER STRANGER DANGER!!!!!! he said cool then he starts asking me a bunch of questions but i just listened to myMp3
I think the worst airport experience I've had was in Menorca, we set off in the plane and had to turn around like you did, but were stuck in the airport for 20 hours, and they are obliged to give us food after 4 hours, and we waited way longer and when they did it was just old dry sandwiches, and this one girl got SO dehydrated! on the upside we got to stay in a 5* hotel for the night and the breakfast was AMAZING.
I was in Newark Airport two night three days December 23 and 24th 2009. I was headed to India. Slept on the floor of the airport the first night. Partly cause the flight from NOLA to Newark got in at just before midnight and the next two hours were spent in line talking to staff. They got me a hotel. I learned the second day that there is only one flight a day to India and it's always over booked so I just had to wait till I got on stand-by.
(cont) Then I found out my friend who had already gotten to Madrid was pickpocketed and had no money or cards. So I had to pay for everything. But I didn't have a lot of money at the time so our meals consisted of bread with pate and cheap snacks. We also didn't have enough for a hostel the night before our flight back and had to sleep in the airport. So much went wrong I can't even fit this into one comment. It was quite the experience.
When I was studying in Italy a friend and I decided to fly to Madrid. But I accidentally booked my ticket for the wrong date so at the last minute I had to book another flight for later in the day. Then when I bused into Rome it turned out they were having a major metro strike. So instead of taking the metro to the airport I had to hail a cab. Which everyone and their mother was trying to do. It took forever and the traffic was terrible because of the strike so I barely made my flight. (cont)
I traveled from Atlanta to South Africa last summer. We had to take a plane to Ft Lauderdale, a train to Miami, then a plane to London, and then another plane to Johannesburg and then a six hour car drive to where we were staying. The whole thing took about two days of nonstop travel to get there.
i missed a flight from Rome to Venice once by 1minute! And the annoying ppl at the check-in booth were so horrid & sacarstic.. They were like well we can't help you now the counter's closed.. You should have been here 1 minute earlier.. So what would have been a 2hr plane ride became a 6hr train ride! *sighs*
Hubby and I had a tight connection to make, but they didn't tell us we had to check-in again when we got to the next airport. So even though we technically made it to our flight on-time, they wouldn't let us board because we hadn't checked in an hour prior. We watched everyone board the flight before they even told us they wouldn't let us on. Frustrating... but not as bad as what you went through! Ah.. the joys of travel
Well it was when we left the airport from our holiday in Spain. It was 10 at night and we had a 2 hour drive home. My dad took the wrong turn and got lost down a country lane, to make it worse the bonnet started to smoke. It took the AA 3 hours to get to us, it was stupid! Then we got towed home and it was really scary cos we were in the car being dragged along by a van and my dad had to just steer the car, scary without being able to see infront. So travel related trouble at it's worst.
I'm in Utah! I wish I was going to the film festival... :(
Have tons of fun for me!!
My only weird airplane experience was that I lost my voice on the plane home after I had been gone for a long time and I couldn't talk to my family when I got back. My voice was perfect when I left and when we landed I couldn't make a sound. That airline stole my Voice!! but I got it back, no worries =P
I ended up being locked inside an airport in spain , Im not to sure why we where locked in there but all I do remember was sleeping inside my granda's suitcase and them giving me water and horrible food i didnt want to eat . we where stuck in there for a few days
My nana finally finds a tow place we get the car fixed and after all that we are exhausted so we (no joke) stay at an "it'll do motel" (it was the only place with vacancy. Go figure)
I went on a spring break thing with my grandma and some family friends and on our way to Houston (10 hours from where I live) our car broke down. It was like in the middle of the night and the closest place was a convenience store called buccees. So we had to walk to buccees but it turns out my friends boot fell out of the car a few towns back so she has to walk barefoot. We get to buccees and we spend fifteen minutes trying to figure out what animal is on the sign (it's a beaver) and my nana f
Two years ago my parents, my 3 little sisters and I flew to Arizona. When we landed we went to get our luggage and my family all found their luggage but I couldn't find mine. Apparently, mine went on to a different flight to the east coast and I had to wait the whole day until they sent the luggage to our hotel :3 lol.
My mom and I had to take 3 busses and two flights to get to San Francisco from Detroit. We got lost in Chicago at 3 am and I bunch of guys were creepin' on us. I don't recommend it.
That's crazyyyy. I've only flown once and it was a long time ago, so luckily I've never had an awful airport experience. I've heard of a lot of bad situations though, it sounds terrible!
Also i've had that happen to me twice, where they pay you because of some problem with the flight (which was their fault), and they get you a nice hotel room and you just take the next available flight. Like you said, not a bad deal :P
Kind of both good and bad, there was some mix-up about which planes were landing on what runways when i was landing in NYC. We just ended up going in circles waiting for them to sort things out which took about an hour, but the good part was it was later in the day and we were getting an aerial tour of NYC right as the sun was setting, it was so cool :D. And the sun actually set about the same time we finally landed ^^.
ah omgosh thatz terrible worst then when my parents made me late and miss my flight by like 5 minutes and i had to jump on a over booked flight and take another flight in the morning thank goodness Southwest airlines saved me cause i had gov papers that said i need the next flight out.
I feel sorry for you! My family won a trip to Lapland and our flight should have taken 4 hours but there was too much snow on the runway so we flew around for 3 hours more then were going to land at a different air port but it had problems so had to fly back to the original one in the end we had about 10 hours on one plane then got another one for 6 hours . It was worth it to see santa though ;)
when i was little, i was heading over to asia from the US. Somewhere near new york, our planes wheels went crazy and we had a emergency landing. We were supossed to have 3 different flights in one long strand of time, but the first plane had that problem and so we missed the rest of our flights and had to spend 2 nights in the airport :/
I had a bad travel this christmas. I live in Holland & I was going to the south of france to ski . I was going to take a train to go to paris and from paris to Pau. But the train people in belgium went on strike, so there was no way to go to paris. I decided to through germany, but when i arrived to frankfort, there was no seat to france until the next day, so my best option was to sleep in the airport, take a plane to madrid next option and another plane from there to toulouse. 32h travelling:S
lol, you know in movies when you see people trying to catch a flight, and they are literaly running down the airport? Yea well that was me not to long ago, lol. We had a connecting flight, but the current flight we were on was late, so we had to run throughout the airport like crazy people, then one of those airport cars, or whatever there called. Picked us up, and we just made our second flight. When we got on board, everyone was giving us the evil eyes. When it wasnt our fault. :( lol
Probably the worst experience I ever had was flying home for the holidays. They changed where my lay over flight was and I didn't see it because I had five minutes until it took off and I accidentally ran onto a korean air plane. Because of it I had to stay at the airport because I had missed my flight. To top it off I was flying home to surprise my folks so I couldn't call anyone to let them know what was going on. I was there for two days. Missed Christmas...
One time I was trying to get home with my mom and we were all on the plane and then we all had to get off. No one knew why but when we were all off they pulled all the luggage off the plane and lined it up on the tarmac. Then there were a bunch of airport police and dogs that went through the luggage. Turns out that someone left a note on the back of one of the chairs and in the bath room saying that 9/11 was an inside job. So yeah.... wasn't fun...
When I was 15, I moved from Newfoundland, Canada to Florida to live with my dad, and I flew by myself. I got lost in the Newark airport and missed my flight, but in the end, the airline got me a hotel room and flew me out the next day. It was so scary.
All of the flights out of SFO and LAX are always overbooked, I swear to God. I've become quite accustomed to sleeping on the chairs in SEA, though. Such an awful time.
When I was younger, my family and I took a trip to Hawaii (from Colorado) and on the way back, we got stranded in an airport halfway across the country from home because of a blizzard. We spent the night in the airport sleeping on the hard floor, and we only had shorts and stuff so we weren't prepared for a blizzard. The next day, we finally hopped a plane home, but we had to wait for another several hours for snow plows to clear the roads. Blizzard of '97. :P
Please don't stress over getting a video on time please! We all understand that you have things going on and always can't crank out videos at our leisure. IT"S OKAY:))
mt friend use to live in utah and when she waz little and i cicle almost killed her because she waz clost to to part were the ice cycles form and it waz 3 ft long im glad she is still alive or i wouldent be were i am today
We were stranded in Atlanta airport in the middle on the night for like 8 hours because of a storm. And once we finally got back to Minneapolis, they had lost our luggage somewhere between South Carolina and Minneapolis. Airports aren't very fun places to sleep :/
3. After a few minutes one guy became mad and punched a steward. So the police on the airport had to come and took the man off board. After 2 long and hot hours the problem was fix and we finally took off.
2. Finally after the eighth circle the pilot got on the speaker and told us that there were some other difficulties with the communication system so the plane must land on another airport to get it fixed. Only the problem was that there was too much fuel in the plane, so we had to fly to the ocean to get it dropped into the sea. When we finally landed on the other airport the pilot said that we had to stay in the airplane. Unfortunately for us it was a very hot day in the Netherlands.
1. Two years ago I was traveling to Spain from the Netherlands, but the flight got delayed due some problems with the communication system of the plane. So when we finally took off, 4.5 hours later, the first minutes in the air were normal. But suddenly the plane turned to the right and kept flying in big circles. We didn't know what was going on, because the pilot didn't communicate with us.
@liannliann993 wow that gotta freaking suck i waz on a plain from tennisee to new york and nothing bad hapend but i waz scarred because my mum made me sit by and old lady that i didnt kno and i waz 4 i remember it bc is waz horrable !!!
My mom and I went on a train from Santa Fe to Seattle, but on our way there we got stranded in Los Angles for 9 hours on Christmas eve. We had to travel on a bus from like Organ to Seattle. it was crazy.
I only flew once in my life and it seemed like it was the longest 5 hour flight. It was for a softball tournament in Florida so we had all sorts of equipment but, was all good best first experience. Also live in New England so I'm use to more snow that that. That would be a good snow storm unlike last year where we had 10 - 14 inches per storm throughout all of the winter season.
Hmm my experience with flying is not that bad, one time we had to wait 2 more hours cuz the plane was delayed and than again an other hours cuz they had to fix something, bummer! But than we got free food at the airport and i was happy again :D
I used to fly sudan airways from khartoum to port sudan regularly. A 6 hour delay was quite normal. Whenever it was on time-ish, like left within 2 hours of when it was supposed to, we would get worried, because we thought, well theres always a problem and clearly this time they just haven't noticed the problem. GONNA DIE!!!
I've also had a horrible experience! My friend & her family and I went last summer to Croatia, island Krk!And everything was perfect had the best time, but when we had to fly home, they told us that there was something wrong with the plane & it is still in Latvia.. The airport on the island was basically a box & we had to sit the whole day like 12 hours out in a meadow!! The horrible part was waiting & not knowing if we will even get to go home that day & then getting in the before broken plane..
I actually like airport security the most about planes. At least you're standing and moving around instead of sitting in layover for 8 hours and sitting in a flight for another 12 hours. -.-
Me and my bros first time flying alone and the security check on my bros psp was soo long we missed the flight-.- apparently the psp was "suspicious" WTF? So they almost got us to spend the night in the airport but ended up getting a flight! Yay
We were able to land and everyone clapped haha but it was really weird hearing a pilot saying we might have to turn around and go back where we came from!
I was flying with my dad to a city 2 hours away by plane and the flight got delayed due to wind where we were going. So then we finally took off, and we were like 30 min away and the pilot gets on the speakers and says "we're going to try to land and if we can't make it we'll have to turn around and fly back to Calgary (where we came from), we have enough fuel." so everyone was freaking out... and we were going for my grandma's funeral which was the next morning so we needed to be there. Anyway
Years ago I was traveling to Sri Lanka from the US and i was too young to remember but something happened with our flight and we were given a random hotel stay for a few hours in Dubai cause our plane was running late. The toilets were scary, but the people were nice!
cont. my boyfriend running towards me right when I sat down saying it was a a joke and Brittany and Cody gave me a huge hug while I am still crying. I look over to my boyfriend and he is FILMING THE ENTIRE THING. This is my flight story and I still hold a little grudge about it but hey I guess I would have done the same to them :)
cont. my boyfriend when I got home. Everything was ok we made it home and I texted my boyfriend I just landed and he said he couldn't make it because he had to work early that morning so I got really upset because I missed him and I just wanted to see him. I called my friend Cody to tell him I landed and he told me that he forgot and was just leaving his house 30 minutes away. I was so drained I went outside and sat on a bench and just cried. Then I hear Cody, my other friend Brittany, and...
My boyfriend was texting me the entire day that I was leaving saying he missed me and that he was coming to pick me up from the airport with my friend cody. I had a layover in SLC Utah and the plane from OR to there was terrible there was tons of rough air and they kept saying we may need to make an emergency landing and so at that point I am bawling thinking we are going to crash or I wasn't going to make it that night. One of the things that got me threw it was thinking I was going to see...
So this isn't terrible but it is just my first time flying and I was by myself visiting my brother in Portland, OR and I live in Fargo, ND. The flight there wasn't terrible but the day I was leaving Portland I was really emotional because I loved everything about Portland and didn't want to come back and I didn't realize how much I missed my brother because our mom died earlier this year and I just missed having my family around so I went into the bathroom and cried for a long time. cont.
I live in Pennsylvania, and one time i was coming back from mexico, and it was during winter. Our flight was canceled because there was a snowstorm in the northeast. the worst part was we were in miami, and that just happened to be where and when the superbowl was going to be, so all the hotels were booked. we ended up taking a flight to new york, then we had to take the subway, and a train to get to my house. it was terrible.
the night in chicago! Worst part, it was snowing and we were traveling in only tees and thin sweaters. No extra clothes! Also i had school the next day and our bags were somewhere in LAX. Just a tough trip! Great way to start the new year? Am I right?
people, and he asks us if he can interview us. Well that lost us like 10 mins. then we did the lines for check in, 30 mins. then we got to the line, but they couldn't find us on the system. 1 hour passes and we finally r found. we get to the baggage claim, another new system, 20 mins. Ok so now we go through customs, another 40 mins! Lastly, we get through all that but have to be strip searched, 20 mins. Now we run and make our flight, but when we arive we miss our flight and have to stay
I really should go to the sundance film festival sometime. I live less than an hour drive from Park City. Not a travel experience but I used to work at a hotel. I had a guest once that could not get out of their room because the door was broken he ended up calling the fire department and they got him down by ladder. was a really crazy night.
Ugh airports. One Christmas I was up in Montreal visiting my family, and on our way back, we were traveling Montreal to Chicago, and then Chicago to San Francisco. Ok so this happened Christmas 2010, a few days after the guy tried to fuse a bomb in his underwear and the security had just been reinforced the day that I was traveling. Being safe, we arived at the airport 3 1/2 hours early after doing one hour in the car. We get there and this guy for the local news is like interviewing random...
Oh and our flight we finally got was crazy louisiana to north caroline to atlanta to pheonix to denver??? What is up with that? Sorry about your crazy experience, glad you finally got there.
Me and my twin sis were trying to get back for my younger sister's graduation... five days before going back for my twin sister's wedding and our flight was cancelled at the connecting flight. So we weren't offered a hotel or anything and had to stay at the airport for twenty hours in North Carolina from 4pm to like noon the next day it was fun to be with my sis but aweful since we had to stay awake and watch our bags.
i love how happy and upbeat you always are despite everything! you remind me so much of my friend, she's exactly the same as you, always such a cheery disposition.
My parents were coming back from Puerto Rico last year and their flight got delayed by 8 hours. They were stuck in Florida on a Sunday night. They got back to Dallas at 1 am and had to get up at 6 for work the next morning.
When I was 13, my younger sisters and I traveled from NJ to Alabama alone and our connecting flight in Atlanta was cancelled and we had to sleep at the airport.
A few years ago my parents and i were mobing frim WA to AZ and we were driving through CA. We had stopped for the night and being mid July it was 120 outside. We got locked INSIDE our hotel room. The AC didnt work and we had to wait two hours for them to get the door off so we could get out.
my dad was stranded in an airport for a couple days because of snow. The worst thing I've ever had was flying to Atlanta, then waiting at least 5 hours for our next flight, it was intentional, it was the best flight we could find, but my little brother wasn't either a year old, so that was fun...
I was on holiday in Europe, I was on my way back to the states, and they lost my luggage over seas. In Switzerland. I didn't get it back for like 3 days and I had like glass stuff in there. My socks saved them from getting smashed but still--losing your luggage in another country and coming home without your glasses, chargers, and converse. No fun.
My mom got stranded in Hawaii for about 4 days on her way to the Philippines from LA. She got a little vacay out of it though. I was a little jealous I'd have to admit!
once I was in in the middle of playing one of those downloadable games they have for the DS in the airport and my flight was called. I had to leave...so tragic! :'( I didn't get to finish cooking with mama!
On my 10th birthday we were flying from Hawaii to New York with a connection in Chicago. But we missed our connection and had to take four planes total instead of two. Plus I was sick!
I've never had a bad traveling experience. I did sleep in LAX twice while waiting on flights and that was interesting, and not so comfortable. The food in airports are also super expensive. It's wise to pack some snacks. ^_^
I was in orlando flying home(during the winter) and a LIGHTBULB was out of the plane, so they canceled out 6PM flight. I ended up catching a 11PM flight to kentucky to sleep for the night and fly home later the next day. But when i landed in kentucky it was snowing (I was in shorts and a t-shirt) and for WHATEVER reason the motel i stayed at, there was no way to turn off the air conditioning. FREEZING IN HELL.
I was on a 9 hour flight to Germany, and the company that provided food for the airline was on strike. So we almost didn't have food. For 9 hours .____.
Flew from Sydney to L.A then after a week in L.A we we're trying to get our flight to Orlando but something was wrong with the tickets, no one really knew what they were doing so we ended up spending the entire day at the airport (it was my brothers birthday) until one person found a solution called a "crayola" or something and fit us in this tiny plane XD getting lost around LAX was an adventure
I don't have any terrible travel experiences per se, but when my sister and I were going to Orlando, on the shuttle to our hotel, there was this super nerdy kid that talked about rollercoasters the entire time which was highly annoying.
However, good story, on the way back from there, we got back to O'Hare early so we just flew around Chicago and over Lake Michigan till we could land which was pretty amazing.
I'm traveling to Vietnam this summer, first time out of North America, I've seen Taken with Liam Neeson, kind of scared but I'll be with close friends and family. I hope it's a good flight
So last summer my brother and I headed to LA from Pittsburgh international. My dad used to work for the airline so we can fly standby/nonrev for free. But, we first had to fly to Philly, then Phoenix, then we couldn't even get on a flight to LAX so had to fly to long beach. It took the ENTIRE day just to get to California. Ugh.
We got to the airport at around 12 pm and had to wait until 11:30pm because something was wrong with the plane and they were really late. It was the most freightening thing ever to get on it D: and we got home at around 3 in the morning.
I was traveling from Finland to New York (a 9 hour flight). I had never been on a plane that long so I was already scared and breathing through a paper bag. Well... The canadians wouldn't let us in their airspace so we had to hover around for few hours until we got a permission. Then we found out that we had way too little fuel to get to NYC so we had to make an emergency landing in freaking Bangor, Maine. It took another hour and a half before we even got back up. so about a 13 hour flight.
Once I was stuck in an airport in Rome for 6 hours because the plane we were supposed to be flying on was flying in from Calgary (I think), and someone had a heart attack and died! So they had to make an emergency stop somewhere on the way to Italy, and the plane didn't arrive in Rome until 6 hours later.
Once when my family and I were going to New Orleans, we had to take 2 connecting flights, and the first one was delayed, so then we missed our second flight, and so we had to stay in like minnesota for then night and then go on the next flight, and then when we were going back, the same thing happened. it was very stressful 0_o
Once my friend missed his flight during a layover and got stranded at the Atlanta airport all night. Otherwise I don't really have any terrible stories which I guess is a good thing! All the trips I've taken have gone pretty smoothly.
Ive never really had a bad experience in the airport...knock on wood...but every single time I travel the airport looses my bags. It never fails!

Apparently, mine went on to a different flight to the east coast and I had to wait the whole day until they sent the luggage to our hotel :3 lol.

3. After a few minutes one guy became mad and punched a steward. So the police on the airport had to come and took the man off board. After 2 long and hot hours the problem was fix and we finally took off.
liannliann993 1 month ago
Unfortunately for us it was a very hot day in the Netherlands.
liannliann993 1 month ago
