This story never tires, I've watch it uncountable times and afterwards I always watch it after 'The Mockingbird Song' it just clicks those two stories. It always seems that 'never woke up' is about Shawnee(from 'The Mockingbird song'), having her last dream before moving on to the next life (what ever that is).

Maybe she was dead, or at least close to it. There's something wrong with her body, and the machine sounds in the background could be the things keeping her alive. Then her parents decided to let her die, and the forest could be heaven or maybe just death.
