  • Awesome, you are both hard working, especially carrying the stove in to the woods. I just love this video. Hi Jaimie I knew you had to be behind this. You have tremendously cool friends. Happy New Year 2009!Caramia

  • Thanks for watching. I have been helping Jaimie with his banana building rather than finishing my sphere since it's been really freezing up in Vermont lately. I have some cold weather footage that I guess I should post. I am going through your videos and enjoying them!

  • You're incredible!

  • Thanks for posting a response. I love the footage of us swinging in the sphere. With a little luck, I'll be able to securely hang it so I can have that feeling all the time.

  • what will you cover your sphere with?

  • I originally wanted something light so I thought I'd use that foam board insulation that's got foil on both sides- polyisothiouranate or something (?) and then coat it with Herculiner which is do-it-yourself truck bed liner. But Jaimie suggested I use very thin plywood (luan) and put the insulation either inside or outside of it. That would be stronger in case a tree branch fell on it.

  • The protection that plywood can offer can't be beat, the last thing anybody wants is a hole in their dwelling during a storm. The insulation you have in mind sounds practical, light, easy to cary and easy to fit. Herculiner is strong and durable and rolls on easy. Plus, if you don't like black it takes paint well

  • BTW if you have any bright ideas about it, I'd love to hear them. It will probably not get covered until spring since it was about 20F with a wind chill that made it seem a lot colder this week up in Vermont. Not easy to work under those conditions and the Herculiner will not cure properly below 32F.

  • The only bright idea I have would be to add to Jaimies, Maybe fit some ply on top then marine style shrink wrap, it's really cool stuff, and will actually shrink around to tightly contour to your sphere (it would look like a giant golf ball:) anyway, it would be water tight forsure, they use it to keep boats dry during winter months, it's also easy to repair, you could easily add insulation to the interior for a really clean look - just an idea.

  • How do you get it to shrink? Do you need some giant heat gun thingie?

  • yeah, giant flame, small propane bottle. it carries a lot easier than plywood.

  • Jaimie would probably love the flame aspect, LOL. I'll have to look into this, thanks!

  • I thought he might like the giant golf ball look... no, giant soccer ball..., no, i know, paint it orange. Who wouldn't want to live in a giant jack-o-lantern?

  • He already insists on calling it "the banana ball" so my guess would be yellow (rolls eyes).

  • LOL... That's hilarious, paint it yellowy orange and name the video "Jaimie & the Giant Peach"

  • More tramampolines! :-)

  • You can NEVER have enough trambampolines! I have a funny feeling this one will end up inside the Banana building.

  • I can't beleive I misspelt "trambampolines!" how embarrasseing :-).

And I suppose thats one way of fitting the remaining bolts! :-)

  • Now THAT would be a video!

  • It would! Lets start petitioning Jamie for that to happen!

  • Maybe we shouldn't give him any more death-defying ideas. He comes up with enough of them on his own :-)

  • Maybe your right. :-)

  • i forgot about your channel hehehe nice channel

  • Why thank you DannysCam. Feel free to offer suggestions as I try to complete the sphere. Preferable suggestions not involving either firearms or roadkill :)

  • yes mam

  • Well it looks like you could use a little muscle up there! *flexes in various poses*

Glad to see it up in the trees! I really want to come up there again and work on stuff with you guys again heh I have the whole week off after christmas so im gunna try to plan to get up there again. I have to talk to Jaime about that one too haha

  • Yes!! That would be great. I don't know if it will be work on the sphere or the Banana Building, but I'm sure there's lots to be done. I'm going to try to get up there some time that week too. We just have to check with Jaimie some time closer to that week to make sure he's in residence.

  • Dunno yet. I want a stove in the sphere, and Jaimie offered me the use of one, but I felt I had to replace it. I reasoned that he might need an interim stove for the Banana until he could build a really big one. So I'm not sure if the stove we carried up will get used in the sphere or somewhere else. but you can never have enough wood stoves up there IMHO. Recently when another guy came up to help him, Jaimie built a fire in it for them as they worked.

  • I agree it was great seeing so much of you EJ :o)

The hood on Jaimie's jacket is hysterical!

As always you two rock ..

Question .. where is the stove going to be placed??

  • Jaimie will probably use the banana building explanation in one of his next videos- I really recorded it for him, but I couldn't resist putting it in here because he's so funny. We don't really have the same "readership", so I don't see a problem with it being in 2 places.

  • This is the best video ever! Especially because we get to see YOU so much :D

    "...it's gotta be in numbers."

LOL so scientist of you :P

HAHAHhaahHhAhahAHhahHAhaaa!! The Banana Building explanation is the BEST ever. You should post this as a video response to Jaimie's latest BB video - I'm sure his subscribers would be interested in seeing :)

Oh I miss that mountain! So absolutely gorgeous. I need to get myself back to the east coast soon.

    <333 Glad you posted this!
