  • I think Ronnie osullivan would be ranked #1 in 8 or 9 ball within a year. He would crush it but there is no money to be made playin pool. Snooker is way harder and therefore way more profitable. imo so flame on trolls. If you dont believe me then try playing snooker on a big table for 1 hour then watch ronnie's 147's then tell me im wrong.

  • @clayton1979 I disagree with the first sentence. Read my about me section. You come off more as a troll than anything else. Trying to justify our game as inferior just cause it's played on a smaller table and bigger pockets. That's not all there is to the game of pool. The positional play, IMO is the most excited out of all the billiards games, especially one pocket.

  • @ProdigyKimXP I think you misunderstand what my point was. I was saying ronnie o'sullivan is a freak of nature and would crush most pool tours imo. I wasnt comparing pool to snooker. as far as cue ball control goes there arent much better than ronnie that i have seen. positional play is another thing and ronnie is behind most pool players but if he ever had the urge to take a gigantic pay cut and prove his dominance in the pool world he would quickly adapt and overcome. IMO

  • @clayton1979 I agree with those points, but I still don't think Ronnie would have as much success in pool as he has had in snooker.

Ronnie's positional play in snooker is incredible and almost unmatched. But cue ball control in pool is different. I've seen Ronnie play pool and he is good, but he is nowhere near the top players today. It would take just as much work as all the other greats in the sport for Ronnie to be the best. It still wouldn't be a walk in the park just cuz he's snooker god

  • @clayton1979 Snooker is not way harder necessary, if you are a poor player with poor shooting technique, yes it is way harder but if you put 2 high level players (snooker or pool) together to play any of these different games, a high level pool player will not lose all their games aganist a high level snooker player playing snooker. A corner pocket shots are less forgiving on a snooker table but side shots are more forgiving. You can adapt by adjusting shot selection in some situations.

  • is it me or are these Taiwanese players dominating pool right now.

  • Sort of?

You can't say they don't have the youngest talent. Wu Chia Ching and Kuo Po Cheng are unbelievable. And Yang is amazing, when the mixture's right.

The game has really opened up, world over. There's always been a European contingent, but now it's stronger than ever: a Brit is WPA champ, and Immonen just clinched the US Open. There are dozens of promising Filipinos: Gomez, Corteza, on and on... but the Americans are pulling a few back, it would seem, w/ Van Boening.

  • yes.. for me the scariest are the Taiwanese and the Filipinos.

  • Where do they learn this stuff and who teaches them?Ok, the Filipinos have always played but the Taiwanese?........ Seems a whole bunch of 'em appeared from outta nowhere.

  • @lemonite1 Pool can be a part of their school curriculum i think

  • yes, indeed they are :)
