Alfa is a12v 2.5 v6 and has about 158hp - only weighs 1.2 tonne WITH driver and full tank of fuel. Not only does the BMW have 60 more hp and more tourqe, it also uses much more modern technology in its injection system, has ABS and traction control and a host of other features that the alfa doesn't - you try taking that sherman tank round a corner and see where your hearse ends up then. Oh yeah... and with all that technology it STILL couldn't hold its own. Get your facts right mate.
U're right but GTV is typical sport car, with sport character, and BMW is a limousine... and this 3.5l weights 500kilo more then Alfa... so 60hp more is nothing. Ure talking about technology? heh who cares that? don't tell me that (for example) stock Fiat Tipo 1.4l 75HP (carburetor) 89' can't win with stock 99' Opel Astra 1.6 (C16NZ & X16SZR) SPi 75HP ? this spi is 91' technology, carburator is construction from 70' this tipo wins few times with that astra :)
True, but the amount of gadgetry utilised to get that 2 tonnes off the line at a quick speed benefits it greatly. Not to mention the extra torque. I'd much prefer an old school twin stage carb set up to modern injection anyway. You of course make a valid point that the limo can NEARLY compete (still lost!) but I think talking shit of Alfa is a little rough ; )
Alfa's were naver made for drag racing... They're a GT car - Handle like nothing else with just enough power to impress when you need to.
