David crowder band sucks. Flyleaf is way better, and they are a christian band. Lacey (from Flyleaf) sings this as a love song to jesus christ. LOOK IT UP
@gear24x hahahahahahahahahaha that's funny that you know Flyleaf for being more of a Christian band when David Crowder wrote songs like, no one like you, never let go, SMS Shine, O Praise Him, and Everything Glorious! Some of the most popular worship songs. Flyleaf is good but part of being a Christian is being able to sing someone else's words and praise just the same. God deserves it all and then some and Flyleaf wrote a great song that David Crowder seems to really like. I love you!
wow...love the original flyleaf version...i guess I like that version so much that this version sounds just horrible....and the original version-flyleaf's version- they're a christian band...it's a christian song...
@alyssaselby I've always like Flyleaf's version as well...but just letting you know that David Crowder is an AMAZING Christian band as well. They both just did the same song, but all to the glory of God :-)
Never really thought of this as a Christian song. Then I listened to this version. It really CAN be taken that way. For me, it has multiple meanings; romantic, Christian, friendship, family, etc.
@xSixBillionSoulsx I think that's how a lot of Christian music is written these days, especially by the artists with a lot of talent like this band. It appeals to a larger crowd[er] (Sorry! I had to make the pun).

@708Y9 | I must comment, as your stupidity is truly intolerable. She speaks of the presence of God, which is in all good sense overwhelming, thus making it hard to breathe. the whole song speaks about how the person can feel Gods presence so i guess even if the original singer didn't mean the song that way the guy whos singing it right now feels that so he sings for gods ears not for people, his meaning is to tell God that he knows hes there
We must compartmentalize everything. Art can't be about 2 or 3 or a million things...it has to be about one thing. And Lord help us if it is about God...surely someone wouldn't write a song about God!
As with all Christian music, when people listen to it and refuse to worship God, and instead attribute it to their lover/friends/whatever, it should be of no concern to believers. C.S. Lewis said it well: "A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell."
there is a book series i love and when i first heard this song my brain made a connection and i could split this song into the three books and it would work perfect
I asked Jesus "how much do you love me?" Jesus replies, "this much". And He stretched out His arms on the cross and died. If you love Jesus, post this comment on other Christian related videos. 97% won't do it. Only 3% of you will stand up for Him.
Christianity follows history. If you read the bible, and we can go and back it up with TONS of history all over the place. It's not made up, its the Truth, and its not a religion, its a relationship with Christ.
there is a book series i love and when i first heard this song my brain made a connection and i could split this song into the three books and it would work perfect
Maybe to solve all the controversy i will arrange a version that starts off as this version and builds into the flyleaf version. Its possible lol. But both versions are awesome. To me the DCB version sounds more like a person in a secret place coming alive in their heart. The Flyleaf version is someone running through the streets rejoicing in the Lord. God loves both of those things. So we shouldn't discriminate between versions. :) God Bless
@stringman1995 totally agree. both versions are amazing. God really spoke through Flyleaf through her song and DCB's reiteration/version of it is just as powerful.
lol only lacey can hit that " and sooooooooooo i crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry, the light is whhhiiiiiiiiiiite, and i see yooooooou-uoooo" part but i still love the cover
Beautiful...Just Beautiful!!! I can see this played at the ending of a movie...or during a scene when the person realizes that they need to get in God's presence to hear from God like NOW!
Beautiful...Just Beautiful!!! I can see this played at the ending of a movie...or during a scene when the person realizes that they need to get in God's presence to heearfrom God like NOW!
ooohhhhh myyyy gawdd!!!! personally i like this version better, but thats just cause i've gotten tired of the origional song by flyleaf ....still amazing
I don't understand why so many atheists and people from different religions love Christian music but down the Christians. It follows no pattern of logic o.o
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 i definitly agree, and its so true,we stay true to what we believe in but they sway back and forth on some stuff, they confuse me lol
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 I think there is a difference between a religion and music that is made to follow the lines of that religion. Don't get me wrong I am agnostic (look it up if you don't know that one) and thus I respect the different religions. I like christian music since it has a nice depth to it most popular music lacks, but I don't stand behind many aspects of the christian religion. Those are two completely different matters.
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 They like the hopeful message, but hate the rules and regulations that come with it. Christian music is the hopeful message, and Christians are the embodiment, for lack of a better word, of the rules and regulations. Atheists have their own idea of logic, and it is ALWAYS completely illogical to Christians. I've learned this from observation. haha
@TheKimmyJade19 When you experience the freedom of the holy spirit, you'll understand true freedom. There's worldly "freedom", then there's being filled. It was truly the happiest moment of my life next to when God's spirit visits me and basks me in his glory.
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 cus songs have a different effect and hold different meanings for everyone. meaning even 1, an atheist, can enjoy it and get some sort of comfort from it. I dont think about god when I hear it, I, like many others, have a different take on the lyrics
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 It's simple really... Anyone can appreciate good music, regardless of the religious views of the artist. I'm an agnostic (definitely don't believe in the Christian God), but I never disrespect other's religions. What right does anyone have to do so?
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 Lots of Christian music is really good, despite the fact that they're singing about their imaginary friend. So I enjoy Christian music as long as it's not just a "I love Jesus yay Jesus" sort of thing. I just enjoy the sound of the music and apply my own meaning to the song
Im not saying it isn't a spiritually moveing song but I will say I've done my research and it is about her boyfriend if you listen to the lyrics you can hear her talking about the crash and how although he's gone he is still with her
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 i'm not speaking for everybody but lot of people out there are still searching for something to believe in this song like all other christian songs may make them feel like God does exist but just dont know who he is yet
Honestly........ Because Christian music is actually filled with the Holy Spirit. They feel that tug on their heart, but do not know what it is. They have not allowed the WORD to open their eyes yet. I hope and pray that they do. There is no LOVE like the love of God through Christ Jesus.
@LoveSikWarrior | True, they do contain the Holy Spirit, but don't forget that only those in God can actually be touched by him. On the other hand their also full of God's love, and that is what I believe attracts them. The love that fill's an emptiness they fiercely seek to fill, and the music seems to fill it just a little, that they find themselves wanting more. But I tell you, that the emptiness can end if you open your heart to God's love.
@Need4Smeed- We can have all the talents in the world, but if we have NOT love, we have NOTHING. I know one day we will walk amongst one another in Heaven, see you there : ).
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 Other religions are captured by the message that our music displays and can't help but listen to it when it's on.
Atheists don't have any amazingly awesome songs like Christians do. They have songs, just nothing good. ;P Unfortunate for them, but it's completely true. (Steve Martin (who is a Christian, and who "felt bad" for atheists not having anything good) did write a pretty funny song making fun of them. You should check it out. "Atheists Don't Have No Songs)
@bumblebeebay1 hmm...I guess I would never have seen it that way. The way I see it, worship music is in a "box", that needs more creativity. Not that I don't like this band, I do. But all the good bands like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Elton John, and stuff weren't Christian and they have amazingly awesome songs. I suppose it depends on your music preference.
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 A lot of atheists are fine with Christianity but not the organizations that "govern" them. The music is usually free of any aspect of organized religion and adheres more to the raw emotional power a believer has for his faith.
Wow.. First Flyleaf did "How He Loves" by DCB, and now David Crowder is doing "All Around Me". Epic. Love this. God is definitely blessing both bands.
Wow.... Just, WOW.... There's something about his voice that makes this song so much more hauntingly beautiful. Don't get me wrong, Flyleaf OWNs this song! But this version is blows my mind!! Chills!! <3
WOW. This is just amazing. I've always been used to hearing Flyleaf's version but now that I've heard this one... it's just WOW. Then again that's DCB :) Such an inspiring song. Definitely thanking God for both DCB and Flyleaf :)
Haha, I love the bands that don't sing for men, but for God. I don't know anything about pitches...or voice modulation...or whatever. But I know that God loves to hear our voices...no matter how wonderful they may or may not be. I love Flyleaf and the David Crowder band lots, and I thank God for them!
I dont know... I feel like both the piano and David's voice are both a little to staccatto (choppy) for me. It's just...decent. I won't be listening to this again though. I like the original wayyyy better, but that's only because I love Flyleaf (and Lacey Strum's voice) infinitely. To each their own.
David crowder generally butchers songs that he covers, his range is way too small, go listen to the original of this (acoustic) and How He Loves by Kim Walker (yeah i know John Mark McMillian is the orig for that song but a woman singing it just sounds so much better, plus the higher range on how he loves is so much better (musically))
I prefer this version only because it's more soft, slower and more... congregational worship. I could see my church playing this song compared to the flyleaf original version, but i do enjoy both, just this one feels more... personal i guess?

We must compartmentalize everything. Art can't be about 2 or 3 or a million things...it has to be about one thing. And Lord help us if it is about God...surely someone wouldn't write a song about God!

Pretty piano but I prefer the Flyleaf version. :)

I asked Jesus "how much do you love me?" Jesus replies, "this much". And He stretched out His arms on the cross and died. If you love Jesus, post this comment on other Christian related videos. 97% won't do it. Only 3% of you will stand up for Him.

@dreamywriter14 Technically speaking, DCB didn't originate the song, and How He Loves is on the same album this song is on.

@thunderhayes I was actually talking about Flyleaf's cover of "You are my Joy" by DCB.
But I like all the versions and covers:)

Christianity follows history. If you read the bible, and we can go and back it up with TONS of history all over the place. It's not made up, its the Truth, and its not a religion, its a relationship with Christ.

I looooooove this song!!! I don't know which one's better this version or Flyleaf's...both are awesome I guess!
chocoholicliz 10 months ago
Maybe to solve all the controversy i will arrange a version that starts off as this version and builds into the flyleaf version. Its possible lol. But both versions are awesome. To me the DCB version sounds more like a person in a secret place coming alive in their heart. The Flyleaf version is someone running through the streets rejoicing in the Lord. God loves both of those things. So we shouldn't discriminate between versions. :) God Bless
stringman1995 10 months ago 2
@stringman1995 totally agree. both versions are amazing. God really spoke through Flyleaf through her song and DCB's reiteration/version of it is just as powerful.

I don't understand why so many atheists and people from different religions love Christian music but down the Christians. It follows no pattern of logic o.o

@AbsolutelyAlise5732 Probobly cause they like the melody and refer the text to something else :P
100Predator 10 months ago

God bless :)

@AbsolutelyAlise5732 cus songs have a different effect and hold different meanings for everyone. meaning even 1, an atheist, can enjoy it and get some sort of comfort from it. I dont think about god when I hear it, I, like many others, have a different take on the lyrics
mandyjanemore 9 months ago
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 It's simple really... Anyone can appreciate good music, regardless of the religious views of the artist. I'm an agnostic (definitely don't believe in the Christian God), but I never disrespect other's religions. What right does anyone have to do so?
iLiveInZanarkand 8 months ago
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 Lots of Christian music is really good, despite the fact that they're singing about their imaginary friend. So I enjoy Christian music as long as it's not just a "I love Jesus yay Jesus" sort of thing. I just enjoy the sound of the music and apply my own meaning to the song

"Atheists Don't Have No Songs)
bumblebeebay1 6 months ago
@bumblebeebay1 hmm...I guess I would never have seen it that way. The way I see it, worship music is in a "box", that needs more creativity. Not that I don't like this band, I do. But all the good bands like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Elton John, and stuff weren't Christian and they have amazingly awesome songs. I suppose it depends on your music preference.
amilisom 5 months ago
@AbsolutelyAlise5732 A lot of atheists are fine with Christianity but not the organizations that "govern" them. The music is usually free of any aspect of organized religion and adheres more to the raw emotional power a believer has for his faith.

CheerSleepDanceRpeat 1 year ago 41
