  • I prefer this version only because it's more soft, slower and more... congregational worship. I could see my church playing this song compared to the flyleaf original version, but i do enjoy both, just this one feels more... personal i guess?

  • The song is by Flyleaf

  • I like the original, but I like the softer version this is, easier to worship to, but the original is what I jam/workout to lol, both are great

  • flyleaf's version is way better....

  • Hey guys, I heard flyleaf did a cover of this!

  • @ZombieSlayer1942 no DCB did the cover, Flyleaf was the original

  • @RHTodd05 i was being sarcastic..like this cover is better than the original so flyleaf did a cover of this.

  • @ZombieSlayer1942 To each their own, cause I do not share the view of this being better, I just don't hear the heart behind it, and I like the build that the flyleaf versions has, where as this is more along just a singular plane all the way thru it.

  • @RHTodd05 that is true....flyleaf does put more emotion in it.

  • @ZombieSlayer1942 actually it's flyleaf's song...

  • beautiful :)

  • wow, this is a great cover... i would say that i like this one more than the flyleaf one... :D WHOOO! i love this song!

  • I really want to know how to play this on piano... but there are no free music sheets available. e_e

  • Whoa! The first 2 measures sound exactly like Comptine d'un autre été: l'après midi (piano wise) Even sounds like it's been played in the same key too (not that I'm saying he's stealing from this song or anything--just thought it was interesting how they sound exactly alike)

  • David crowder band sucks. Flyleaf is way better, and they are a christian band. Lacey (from Flyleaf) sings this as a love song to jesus christ. LOOK IT UP

  • @gear24x um david crowder is a praise band bro/broette

  • @gear24x hahahahahahahahahaha that's funny that you know Flyleaf for being more of a Christian band when David Crowder wrote songs like, no one like you, never let go, SMS Shine, O Praise Him, and Everything Glorious! Some of the most popular worship songs. Flyleaf is good but part of being a Christian is being able to sing someone else's words and praise just the same. God deserves it all and then some and Flyleaf wrote a great song that David Crowder seems to really like. I love you!

  • This is a great cover.

  • wow...love the original flyleaf version...i guess I like that version so much that this version sounds just horrible....and the original version-flyleaf's version- they're a christian band...it's a christian song...

  • @alyssaselby I've always like Flyleaf's version as well...but just letting you know that David Crowder is an AMAZING Christian band as well. They both just did the same song, but all to the glory of God :-)

  • this is the best thing ever. nuff said.

  • Never really thought of this as a Christian song. Then I listened to this version. It really CAN be taken that way. For me, it has multiple meanings; romantic, Christian, friendship, family, etc.

  • @xSixBillionSoulsx I think that's how a lot of Christian music is written these days, especially by the artists with a lot of talent like this band. It appeals to a larger crowd[er] (Sorry! I had to make the pun).

  • @xSixBillionSoulsx flyleaf is a christian band....it was written as a christian song...

  • not too bad DCB. I like this version way better than Flyleaf's.

  • I feel you on my fingertips!

  • I didn't think about this being a Christain song until I listened to this version. I can really hear it the words now. I love it even more

  • i think everyone who is arguing over comments on youtube needs a maturity check on top oft he check of your hearts for letting a disagreement take precidence over what god has done through this song. its people who do these things who are indeed the ones with a need...=/

  • @liljoneeb We are supposed to minister to people where they are. And this is where they are.

  • @NeverMindLover im sorry but arguing isnt ministering please dont call it as such

  • personally my favorite version it the flyleaf acoustic! i think its absolutely beautiful. but i would love to hear them record a real recording together no the overlapped versions

  • Sue. Why are you correcting every comment on here? And as soon as someone comes against you for doing so you have to respond by degrading them? Or finding technical flaws that could be found in anything? Will your senseless prideful jargon mean a thing in the end? No. So why, if you are so perfect, must you defend yourself or say anything for that matter to nearly every response on here? You need to learn the difference between humility and false humility. Try reading the Bible in spirit and tr

  • I'm sorry, but this is the better version of this song. i love it way more.

  • wow i didn't no this was a christian songs until DCB made it!? respect to Flyleaf for reaching out to the none christians through there songs!! God Bless u all!!!

  • @iwillmakeitwithGod

    Oh I stand corrected :P

  • im proud to be a christian :D

  • Starts off like that Amelie song! I really like this :) His voice is beautiful. I'd love to hear Flyleaf do it this way actually. I just have to say, if someone wants to know what this song is about, Lacey has talked about it in interviews, so surely thats the best place to find out?

  • Wait...so this is christian music? I really didn't pay attention to the lyrics >.>

  • I love this version!!!

David your voice is awsome! <3

  • flyleaf but they were christian but they went bad

  • @123callofdutyguy O_O What do you mean by that? They made a whole album dedicated to god. Check out Beautiful Bride by Flyleaf. It talks about how as one body of christ, we make a wonderful and beautiful community that shall never fall. :P

  • @cloudhatake haha when did they make the album? right. along time ago. theyre new album rember to live has nothing to do with god. so the comunity did fall lawl

  • @jesuaflores Remember to live is just and E.P. of songs that the preformed live but never wanted to record until the fans asked them too. They're old songs from the past and it's suppose to be a nostalgic to the listeners that knew them as "Passerby." :P Besides, What the heck are you talking about anyways? "Okay" from remember to live is all about God xD

  • @123callofdutyguy how so?

  • @123callofdutyguy they never 'went bad.' they simply don't cater to Christian audiences. I love that about them because I don't listen to solely Christian bands. Seeing Skillet, Flyleaf, and other bands with Papa Roach, 3DG and company is an amazing ministry. Just because a song is loud, has metal/screaming/ isn't explicitly about Christ doesn't mean they 'went bad.'

  • who made the original song flyleaf or david crowder band?

  • @Nacko96 Flyleaf ...

  • This is a really awesome cover...

  • The piano is like a rip off of yann tiersen's song

  • @ishan2945 | It's because it's a simple chord progression. With one chord progression you can play millions of songs.

  • amazing!!!

  • Qe hermoso cover, me encanta la voz del cantante & el piano creo qe le da el toqe! No lo habia escuchado.. Ahora qelo encontre no lo voy a parar deescuchar... Es tan lindo :D

  • the first few seconds of the piano sound like "

comptine de'un autre ete lapres midi"

  • Piano sounds like Adele's Hometown Glory

  • i got a touch, its not all blind faith. so i know haunting of Holy Spirit, though sight is limited sometimes all I have is surrender and sanctification as a process and faith the blindness as i continue to walk and share with others the great ultimate plan waiting and yet the evidence of the fullness of creation before us each day but its coexistent with sin and death and Jesus answered , He is door and it takes faith receive it sometimes these songs all I have during droughts and journey

  • -_-

  • Do the people who are fighting know the song was really about a guy? Well it is no matter who sings it

  • @708Y9 It was a song about God, she said it, hence why they are a Christian band, it was written in a way that a person could be like wow that song is really sweet to someone, or for another person to say wow they really love God. But if you actually listen to the words its about God. Period

  • @pierces19941 so God is making him unable to breath because hes thickening the air hes breathing what a good guy. PERIOD

  • @708Y9 You get one line from an entire song and you think you've proved a point? We'll if we're going to go on that mindset then I can pick any song and turn it into a christian song if I pick out one line. Oh, period.

  • @708Y9 | I must comment, as your stupidity is truly intolerable. She speaks of the presence of God, which is in all good sense overwhelming, thus making it hard to breathe. And quick fact: thickening the air adds pressure, but doesn't make it harder to breathe. Thinning the air makes it harder to breath, as it removes oxygen. I suggest you revisit school, as well as work on your deducing skills. Idiot.

  • @LoveSikWarrior | Choosing to challenge without solid research is truly sad. I am well aware of that passage, but perhaps you should take in to account that of which you ask me to mimic. After all, did Jesus not call the pharisees a "race of serpents"? Sons of the devil? If you must retaliate, I beg you to please, read the entire bible, and not just for reading, but to make sure to understand every single chapter.

    Regards, SueRecords

  • The truth can be spoken without any degrading remarks made towards anyone. I have not read every chapter, but I know that in time the Lord will guide me through His Word.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Please Chew on this and allow God to write this on the tablet of your heart.

  • @LoveSikWarrior |

    Jesus also said:

"You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?" Matthew 23:33 NIV ... Read it all. I read to chapters every day, then proceed to write my favorite passages into an elegant notebook. I calll it my devotional. Chew on this, and try it out. After all, I'm not insulting the person, but the one who influenced the persons stupid remark.

  • @SueRecords Wow...that's edifying...you reek of pride and confidence in your knowledge. It would behoove you to learn how to humbly correct someone, rather than calling them stupid and an idiot, especially when you're on the computer. It severely lessens your credibility as a follower of Christ.

  • @djking2d | I am more than humble enough, but I do not yield to those who directly attack God, who already seem to have a grudge against him. I suggest you apply your own word to yourself. It would behoove you to learn to humbly correct someone, rather than calling them prideful. Especially on the computer. Nevertheless, your incumbency doesn't concern me.

  • @708Y9

the whole song speaks about how the person can feel Gods presence so i guess even if the original singer didn't mean the song that way the guy whos singing it right now feels that so he sings for gods ears not for people, his meaning is to tell God that he knows hes there

  • Take my heart i give it to you now you own me all i am you said you would never leave me i believe you i believe.

  • and i see you, i'm alive, i'm alive, I'm alive..

  • STOP ARGUING AND ENJOY THE SONG

  • We must compartmentalize everything. Art can't be about 2 or 3 or a million things...it has to be about one thing. And Lord help us if it is about God...surely someone wouldn't write a song about God!

  • This song is NOT about an imaginary friend...it's about GOD!

  • @NessaVLove God is an imagenary friend :O

  • @JoZzAHD what you mean by that?

  • @JoZzAHD

He's not imaginary or mind created delusion.. He's REAL.

  • @jamesz03 And i suppose you've met him?

  • @JoZzAHD

what i meant by real is even though i've never met Him, He exist. Its about faith..

  • @JoZzAHD Re-Read my comment...

  • Pretty piano but I prefer the Flyleaf version. :)

  • As with all Christian music, when people listen to it and refuse to worship God, and instead attribute it to their lover/friends/whatever, it should be of no concern to believers. C.S. Lewis said it well: "A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell."

  • wow this was amazing both versions are awosome. this thing left me in awwww <3 this song

  • Flyleaf does a cover of David Crowder Band and then they do a Flyleaf cover:)

  • @dreamywriter14 Technically speaking, DCB didn't originate the song, and How He Loves is on the same album this song is on.

  • @thunderhayes I was actually talking about Flyleaf's cover of "You are my Joy" by DCB.

But I like all the versions and covers:)

  • @dreamywriter14 Well, I stand corrected on that end...

  • :O I never knew DCB did a cover of this song!!!! MY LIFE JUST GOT BETTER! WOO! PRAISE GOD FOR CREATING SUCH MUSICAL GENIUSES!

  • Brothers and sisters! Stop the fighting! This is not what Jesus would have done!

  • AbsolutelyAlise5732:

Christianity follows history. If you read the bible, and we can go and back it up with TONS of history all over the place. It's not made up, its the Truth, and its not a religion, its a relationship with Christ.

  • literally every time i hear this i get those goosebumps. there is absolutely nothing that compares to that feeling. PRAISE GOD!!

  • there is a book series i love and when i first heard this song my brain made a connection and i could split this song into the three books and it would work perfect

  • I looooooove this song!!! I don't know which one's better this version or Flyleaf's...both are awesome I guess!

  • Maybe to solve all the controversy i will arrange a version that starts off as this version and builds into the flyleaf version. Its possible lol. But both versions are awesome. To me the DCB version sounds more like a person in a secret place coming alive in their heart. The Flyleaf version is someone running through the streets rejoicing in the Lord. God loves both of those things. So we shouldn't discriminate between versions. :) God Bless

  • @stringman1995 totally agree. both versions are amazing. God really spoke through Flyleaf through her song and DCB's reiteration/version of it is just as powerful.

  • WOW, THIS VERSION IS AWSOME!!!! AND FLYLEAF'S SONG ROCK!!! BOTH GREAT!!

  • i like both

  • wow very well done not as good as flyleaf but i still love it

  • lol only lacey can hit that " and sooooooooooo i crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry, the light is whhhiiiiiiiiiiite, and i see yooooooou-uoooo" part but i still love the cover

  • Beautiful...Just Beautiful!!! I can see this played at the ending of a movie...or during a scene when the person realizes that they need to get in God's presence to heearfrom God like NOW!

  • ooohhhhh myyyy gawdd!!!! personally i like this version better, but thats just cause i've gotten tired of the origional song by flyleaf ....still amazing

  • I don't understand why so many atheists and people from different religions love Christian music but down the Christians. It follows no pattern of logic o.o

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 i definitly agree, and its so true,we stay true to what we believe in but they sway back and forth on some stuff, they confuse me lol

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 I love this music. I am an atheist. I do not down Christians. Ever.

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 Probobly cause they like the melody and refer the text to something else :P

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 They like the hopeful message, but hate the rules and regulations that come with it. Christian music is the hopeful message, and Christians are the embodiment, for lack of a better word, of the rules and regulations. Atheists have their own idea of logic, and it is ALWAYS completely illogical to Christians. I've learned this from observation. haha

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 cus songs have a different effect and hold different meanings for everyone. meaning even 1, an atheist, can enjoy it and get some sort of comfort from it. I dont think about god when I hear it, I, like many others, have a different take on the lyrics

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 It's simple really... Anyone can appreciate good music, regardless of the religious views of the artist. I'm an agnostic (definitely don't believe in the Christian God), but I never disrespect other's religions. What right does anyone have to do so?

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 Lots of Christian music is really good, despite the fact that they're singing about their imaginary friend. So I enjoy Christian music as long as it's not just a "I love Jesus yay Jesus" sort of thing. I just enjoy the sound of the music and apply my own meaning to the song

  • @cowsruleme

this song is not about an imaginary friend it was dedicated to her boyfriend who died in a car accident

  • @examae15

actually she was talking about god...

  • @nitemaremonsterrr

Im not saying it isn't a spiritually moveing song but I will say I've done my research and it is about her boyfriend if you listen to the lyrics you can hear her talking about the crash and how although he's gone he is still with her

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 i'm not speaking for everybody but lot of people out there are still searching for something to believe in this song like all other christian songs may make them feel like God does exist but just dont know who he is yet

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 so true!

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 it's cause they like how it sounds, yeah haha it's fucked up, but if i was athiest i'd love this song haha.

  • Honestly........ Because Christian music is actually filled with the Holy Spirit. They feel that tug on their heart, but do not know what it is. They have not allowed the WORD to open their eyes yet. I hope and pray that they do. There is no LOVE like the love of God through Christ Jesus.

  • @LoveSikWarrior Amen! God Bless You

  • @APUfan11 God Bless You brother!

  • Comment removed

  • @LoveSikWarrior AMENNNNN!!! <3 So well said!

  • @bumblebeeG12 , God bless you : )

  • @LoveSikWarrior God bless you bro! i totally agree, and the LOVE of christ is creating a revolution right now!

  • @Need4Smeed- We can have all the talents in the world, but if we have NOT love, we have NOTHING. I know one day we will walk amongst one another in Heaven, see you there : ).

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 because the music is good ... just that they dont follow there faith ...

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 It's because once everyone hears the truth, they want more of it and they can't get away from it.

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 Other religions are captured by the message that our music displays and can't help but listen to it when it's on.

Atheists don't have any amazingly awesome songs like Christians do. They have songs, just nothing good. ;P Unfortunate for them, but it's completely true. (Steve Martin (who is a Christian, and who "felt bad" for atheists not having anything good) did write a pretty funny song making fun of them. You should check it out. "Atheists Don't Have No Songs)

  • @bumblebeebay1 hmm...I guess I would never have seen it that way. The way I see it, worship music is in a "box", that needs more creativity. Not that I don't like this band, I do. But all the good bands like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Elton John, and stuff weren't Christian and they have amazingly awesome songs. I suppose it depends on your music preference.

  • @AbsolutelyAlise5732 A lot of atheists are fine with Christianity but not the organizations that "govern" them. The music is usually free of any aspect of organized religion and adheres more to the raw emotional power a believer has for his faith.

  • Wow.. First Flyleaf did "How He Loves" by DCB, and now David Crowder is doing "All Around Me". Epic. Love this. God is definitely blessing both bands.

  • @daydreamingirl25 john mark mckmillan did how he loves first

  • @PillarOfChrist she cited the author incorrectly, but she was noting how they did covers of each other, not who originally wrote How He Loves.

  • I love this song.. it reminds me of the awesome feeling of the Holy Spirit all around me, it's amazing <3

  • Wow.... Just, WOW.... There's something about his voice that makes this song so much more hauntingly beautiful. Don't get me wrong, Flyleaf OWNs this song! But this version is blows my mind!! Chills!! <3

    ~Carla~

  • My hands are serching for youu! (: Jesusfreaks are better than posers waaay betttter (: HAHA. Amanda's daughter Mikayla lanae Martin! :DDD

  • This song is good,

but a lot of people are Jesus freaks.

    Ha.

  • @CUTEisWHATweAIMfor08 Its hard not to be with music like this!!!! Haha

  • WOW. This is just amazing. I've always been used to hearing Flyleaf's version but now that I've heard this one... it's just WOW. Then again that's DCB :) Such an inspiring song. Definitely thanking God for both DCB and Flyleaf :)

  • 16 people need to hear the angles singing.

  • Haha, I love the bands that don't sing for men, but for God. I don't know anything about pitches...or voice modulation...or whatever. But I know that God loves to hear our voices...no matter how wonderful they may or may not be. I love Flyleaf and the David Crowder band lots, and I thank God for them!

  • I dont know... I feel like both the piano and David's voice are both a little to staccatto (choppy) for me. It's just...decent. I won't be listening to this again though. I like the original wayyyy better, but that's only because I love Flyleaf (and Lacey Strum's voice) infinitely. To each their own.

  • 14 people don't feel God all around them.

  • This is very haunting...both versions are like East and West ....but both cardinal directions are equally amazing no? LOL

  • this can't relate the original but its good none the less :) both bands are trying to witness to the world about God so that's what matters :)

  • @SamSamSammmmy u dont need to be putting stuff like that on a christian music video,u should be ashamed...

  • Its not epic enough, sorta flat and the original it very epic and big, not a horrible song but not a good one either...nothing aginst dcb..

  • David crowder generally butchers songs that he covers, his range is way too small, go listen to the original of this (acoustic) and How He Loves by Kim Walker (yeah i know John Mark McMillian is the orig for that song but a woman singing it just sounds so much better, plus the higher range on how he loves is so much better (musically))

  • This version is so much better than the original...

Okay so it's because I hate Flyleaf cause I can't stand the lead singer's voice but... Whatever, to each their own right? :/

  • When i listen to flyelafs all around me i just want to spin and worship

this one makes me want to fall on my keens and beg for Mercy i love them both THANK YOU JESUS YOU ARE SO AMAZING AND MERCYFUL

Jesus i wish i could be perfect for you

<3 i love you Jesus God bless everyone else who watches this

  • I LOVE BOTH BTW

Flyleaf is my favorite band ever BUT their coalations with david crowder and covering all their songs is AMAZING.

  • Anyone else think the piano piece at the beginning of this song sounds exactly like Yann Tiersen's Comptine D'un Autre été?

  • @shadowshands AGREE! i started thinking that this song/video was misnamed, haha

  • sorry but Flyleaf is better on this song. Nothing against david crowder.

  • I like the original better. I don't know, Lacey puts her soul in that song and it's simply beautiful. It gets me everytime.

  • I like the original. David crowder is cool. but I like how Lacey sings in a higher range lol

  • Why is People fighting on this?

I came to hear and see what people say about My God and not get depressed by what people are fighting about.

    <3 <3 ill see you Janurary 9th:D

  • This blows away Flyleaf... and I don't even normally listen to Crowder's stuff.

  • i think its awesome because flyleaf also did a cover of a david crowder song
