I have to say, Palladino is really channeling the Ox on this one. I don't think he carries quite the same punch that Entwistle did, but on this piece he's really kicking. it. Then again, there was only one Thunderfingers...
Well, they gave Ks to Mick Jagger and Elton John and messrs Townsend and Daltrey are arguably infinitely more talented and do a lot for charity, notably the Teenage Cancer Trust.
I don't know if this was mentioned yet or not, but this song is said to almost predict the internet. Of course it came out before that and Pete I think was talking about spies or something, can't remember. But this also defines the internet so Pete again was way ahead of his time :). These guys are brilliant and that's why I love them!
ahaha oh Pete :) Nice hat :) .. aww.. I was their concert in Helsinki yesterday 09.07 2007.. . Totally fucking awesome rock show I ever seen! 8)
I'm going to R0lling Stones concert too in next month, I can't wait to see them!.. :P ... Only Queen's concert missing... why he died :( ..Freddie.
When Freddie died, Queen actually died too.. But Freddie Mercury is living dead man so he must live forever! RIP Freddie. Roger D. and Pete T. you guys rock!
yes that drummer is the first guy to bring the vibe to the band since moon departed. I wish he had showed up t twenty years earlier! kenny jones was really stiff, and in retrospect i am just not feeling that Simon guy. the really tragedy is moon going into a bad condition. tears me up really. i had to get out of rocknroll. so many deaths.
you seen that video where daltrey talks about moon and how moon used fills? it is some good information. more did fills based on the vocal lines and did this during the verses. here it is watch?v=KLMc6J9h3mU check out what daltrey says at the console
fucking shame that rock today is overpowered by pop sugar garbage. I wish it would all go the fuck away and rock have a resurgence. There are lots of bands out there now who never get heard unless you search for them. Music companies sell us American Idols for a quick buck because kids today don't know better.
This is so good I can't believe it. I wish Pete would play more leads like this one. They all sound great, how does Roger do it? His voice sounds amazing! Is the secret tea? I saw them recently at MSG and am grateful. Long live The Who!
This a great song, very underated single "Relay" Wish some Who Fan can upload the mimed performance of this song from Russell Harty Plus in January 1973 and the Live Vocal Alt. Mix from The Old Grey Whistle Test from 1973 if any of you guys have any of these videos please put them on !

Some interesting solo work at around 4:55. What I like about Pete's work is his constant desire to try something new. Always pushing the envelope.

I suggest that Messrs Townsend and Daltrey will still be rocking at well into their 80s. A Knightood each wouldn't go amiss - take note PM and HMQ

@randomdave30 A brilliant and exceptional guitarist and performer but a knight..a Defender of the Realm..a hero, come on!!!

@randomdave30 So they give to charity. This isn't a hero; it's only doing good. Loads of us give to charity.
And none of the others deserve it either. Sickening!

Arise Sir Roger Daltrey....
Arise Sir Pete Townsend...

C'mon, predicting the internet? Traveling twice as fast as on any freeway could mean anything. From tree to tree, from you to me?
