  • when i ear the first bass line i though... o god, this goin to be horrible... but this version is very good, i dont like the voice of Les Claypool, but is just a personal thing

  • This is pretty sick. Long time Sabbath fan and I think this kicks ass!

  • im surprised you dont like Les Geddylee trained him you dumbass

  • Les fucking SUCKS.............:)

  • frikin awsome

  • chida la rola

  • This sucks! ;)

  • @DestroyEmos I dont think you really get it. Primus or any of CLaypools music is not trying to be anymore than what it is.... Expression without the colossal crap most artists have to deal with from the industry itself. If nothing else you could say that this is pure music..... no boundarys no limits. Trippy could be an insult.... That one could trip off of it, now thats different.

  • Is that Andy Kaufman?

  • My favorite musician of all time playing my favorite Sabbath tune. Incredible

  • You see the drummer just shaking his head at 3:25???

  • I'll never get sick of this vid.

    This cover rules!!!

  • Nice drum work. Different, but still is a nod to the original

  • One of the weird things about Claypool. On his own tunes, his bands have an amazing groove. So it is odd when he covers Black Sabbath or Metallica and they don't groove as much as the original bands. Interesting study on different rhythmic fortes.

  • @Kragnorak Lisn up, uni fuck. No need to groove up shit..they just pick n Primus it..

  • @Haestackaawittoo - Well let's examine this critically. When Primus covers "Tippy Toes", their sucky groove is almost as good as the fabled Meters. But with "The Thing That Should Not Be".... well, not so much.

  • BRILLIANT! SABBATH AND CLAYPOOL, DREAMS DO COME TRUE

  • les claypool is the best thing thats ever happened too the bass....

and whats wrong with the vocals? i love the fact that he sings like an illiterate hick :)

  • @Warthogfan thnaks buddy :) and yeah tommy the cat. 'nuff said

  • im not a fan of black sabbath, but les nailed it

  • the drummers nails it, gotta love claypools bass

  • Primus Sucks!!!!

  • @norecess10 and les claypool on his own sucks more.

  • @chubbymosher700 He sucks so much it makes my head explode.

  • Fuck yeah! You gotta dig the 'elvis' fatigues Les has got on.

  • @TheArbiter74 hahaha, elvis fatigues, that is great

  • Fuck yeah!

  • Frank Zappa meets Larry Graham meets Rush.

  • Excellent, great, genius, master...

  • jesus the vocals are horrible. sweet instruments.

  • Good Cover... But Vocals.. :/

  • @EnryD1 I agree aha.

  • Lol, I think this is the exact reason they had Ozzy do the vocals for the Primus cover of N.I.B.

    Good cover, though.

  • @Bungle41582

Les just has an innability to take anything seriously

  • @dbBosco1 i love claypool hes crazy and awesome at bass.... like me :D

  • Damn I really like the cellist from a concert I saw today but can't find like a website or something.

  • @zegoogez this guy's name is sam bass

  • Think he should have left the vocals, still not a bad cover.

  • Sick cover! I love it!

  • I just had a joygasm!!!

  • I love the way he makes a rly dark song sound so funky :D

gonna see him in march <3 first time ever he's coming to europe without Primus :D

  • thats it im going to bonnaroo next year

  • So is Les Claypool.

  • Drummer 3:25, lol

  • OMG. Les is The Shit!

  • Bass Hero: Les Claypool

Just throwing it out there. Wonder if he's been approached.

  • omg..i had an eargasm at 0:15

    and again at 3:26

  • Comment removed

  • definitely,he is a superb bassist.more importantly,he is quirky singer.his voice is very cartoony (:

  • Not to offend anyone but his vocals suck.. on this song I mean...

  • His vocals are supposed to suck, its les claypool thats what makes his singing so GREAT and amazing, the fact that he cant sing, and he uses it to his advantage.

  • he makes me sound like Peter Hammill.

  • thanks les i learned the riff from watching ur fingerrss ha ha hah ha

  • Les's voice is maybe little too pathic for this one, or he just took that approach to this :) could bene better but not horrible

  • *apathetic

  • Les Claypool is the man!

  • gah being here for this show was such an epic point in ym life

  • imo Les has THE perfect voice for his kind of music.... it wouldnt just be Les claypool/Primus if he'd have a normal singing voice...

thats what makes it all unique

  • I quite enjoy ole Mr. Claypool's voice. Ever since my first concert in 95 his voice has always been fun. It's cartoony.

    PRIMUS 2010!!!!!!!!!!

  • pleasant sounding voices don't make for the best music or creativity, they are just generic and stale at worst, and at best can be outstanding. As for Les, his voice is ideal for what he plays and writes. His voice is hard to forget, and one American legend made a career of having a memorable voice, and that was Bob Dylan.

  • he is my favourite singer.

  • I could deal with the devil to get his voice, and sell my soul to get his bass skills ^^

  • EPIC

  • This is hilarious. Les is the fucking man.

  • Kick ass!

  • I LOVE THIS

and i am a huge black sabbath fan

  • Check out the drummer at 3:28 xD

  • @Krafnaumraku haha that was awesome!

  • turn it sideways...and chello! you have a bass! boom baby!

  • SICK ASS SHOW!!! That's me surfing the crowd. No one wanted to get into Les to much and i was determined to get my 300 bucks worth out of Bannaroo's ass

  • that was fucking sick. saw him earlier in the year wish he would have played this shit, was an awsome show anyway

  • I want the audio of this

  • Fuck i love this song!!!

  • It woulda been fucking sick with buckethead on guitar and the ozzman coming out to sing lead

  • les is 2 bassists. der.

  • les is over 9000 bassists!

  • at least 10,000

  • on a good day im at lest 12 europeans

  • and that's a cello.

  • Dude that was the point...if you've ever listened to Primus or any of Claypool's stuff, they TRY to be odd/trippy...

  • @DestroyEmos I don't think they try, they just are. In a good way of course:-)

You have the best name on youtube BTW

  • @Warthogfan i beg to differ

  • @DestroyEmos I dont think they try: they just are trippy

  • @DestroyEmos and when they look odd, u laugh ur ass off when ur trippin. supposedly

  • so sick. i love the elvis thing les is wearin haha

  • Thank You Les, Black Sabbath Upon The Hippy Masses!

  • ughhh this is so sick

  • do they have 2 bassists?

  • No.

  • Why the hell would they need two bassists?

  • why not?

  • that would be something

  • its a cello dude

  • Dear god!!!!!!!! LES IS MORE!!!!!

  • Les Claypool rules over all.

  • that was cool. i dont know why fuse cut thus out! all i saw was of whales and woe.

  • thanks for sharing. it was awesome. i just watched electric apricot last night, some really funny moments but overall it was a little weak. reminiscent of spinal tap but not nearly as good.
