My 2003 Crown Vic Sport has been flooded. This was not reflected in the CARFAX report, but by contacting the original owner. The water entered the car BELOW the steering wheel and the car was NOT running when the water level enveloped the car. This was evident by debris in the trunk crevices as well as debris in the engine compartment. The warranty replaced the lighting control module and another component not damaged by water. The car is perfect after several thousands of miles.
This is bullshit. They are so sensitive about this sort of shit. A car is a car, man. It's made of metal, not sugar. Yes, water may fuck up the electrics and yes, it can stink your interior up, but that doesn't mean it can destroy metallic mechanical components or render the car useless.
You Americans don't know shit about making, owning, using, and recycling cars.
I will not argue with you, I AM an asshole and that remark was kind of generalist/stereotypical, BUT I know how shit goes down in Europe/Asia and when it comes to cars, the US is kind of in the wrong. I'm talking about the sheer hugeness of the US cars, the way people treat them and the irresponsible way people destroy some perfectly good cars that could run for many years just to buy brand new vehicles, but still huge and ridiculous, often more pollutant than the ones "recycled".

You can restore the car to it's orginal condition, depending on damage, but it may be prohibitively expensive.
