I knew this was an awesome concert when I heard it back in the 70s; My brother brought home the album and I would just rock out all over the room, mesmerized at how freakin great it sounded.
@msginca Attended the 7 Jun. Fillmore performance somewhere between Kent State, my 18th birthday and draft registration, and HS graduation. Two hours before the 8 p.m. concert, a dealer friend opened a half-pound bag of pot and invited me to dig in (eat-- I didn't sully my body with smoke). Eat, I did. All I remember of the concert is that Crosby had 2 pink laser beams shooting out of his eyes. Spent 1/2 the night with my chin on my chest. Was stoned through next school day. Wasted opportunity.
@DonVueltaMorales That hurts me ... not just a wasted opportunity, ... but a wasted opportunity of a lifetime ... they'll never be that age again, or ever sound quite like that again. I'm sooooo grateful it was recorded and released to the public. This is a national treasure, and will, sooner or later, be recognized as such.
Aye Laddies , what a period in time to let your freak flag fly, weed was cheap gas was cheap, could cruise for ......ever & 4 way st was practically welded in the 8 track player
I remember this version of "Carry On" being played on a regular basis in its entirety on the radio (WFSO 570 am in Pinellas Park, Florida) in my senior year in high school (1970) . My first period instructor had the radio turned on during my Drafting class. Man! Did we turn out some awesome drawings with this music playing in the background!!! I'll never forget that 1st Period class or those mornings! Wonderful memories!
This is one of the best songs that has been posted on YouTube in my humble opinion.I've been waiting to find this one on here.This is a fantastic song that you can get totally absorbed in.Great from start to finish.Thank you!!!!!!! :-)

@MrMeddled
Sorry to have given your comment a Thumbs down, but I totally disagree with it.
Knowing the original studio version, this is an absolute great live session to me

I'd given up for quite some time searching for this. It was a gem for me too, I was 14 when it was released assuming that's 1970.
Thanks much for considering it hasis20.

It was an expensive album too. My brother and I pooled our $12 for it. A chunk of money for a record or a 15 year old then, but worth every penny.
