@MsSilithius for the most part, tyr (and fans/ like minded individuals) directs their disdain for Christianity to the actions of the ones in the past (i.e. the crusades) and the smaller groups of modern day that have the mentality of "we are the one and only truth, follow us or be destroyed, etc."

Realistically most people don't have any issue with the belief but more so towards the more zealous followers

Originally his character was more complex , and he was probably a wizard poet aswell as warrior god at first. Later when Odin became the wizard poet All-Father Tyr became associated almost entirely with battle, bravery and victory. His consort Zisa is the Germanic goddess of justice, law and order. The lady who holds the scales of Justice.
