  • I hear ya, dvd.

My parents moved us there in 67. At that time I was almost oblivious to most of the racket, except for the jets. I developed a penchant for straightening wall hangings, from the vibration, that I still have today.

The trains and bells didn't seem to phase me - but those airplanes were a constant annoyance that I never learned to ignore.

  • Even when I moved downtown in the early 80's, I was able to acclimate to random gunfire and sirens, and prostitutes "advertising". Except for police helicopters - which are fortunately a rarity anymore.

I think people who move to Olmsted are still going there for the same reason; a tremendous school system. 'Cuz it ain't for the taxes! It's a nice little town, still, and I am very fortunate to have grown up there.

  • Nice place as long as you don't mind hearing landing commercial airliners flying over head every three minutes, trains passing blowing horns every 20 minutes, and church bells chiming every quarter hour.

  • Thanks Scott I miss home sometimes. I spent a lot of time at the falls fishing.
