I ask retail shop does samsung iPhone looking thing come with the tv and he say they did when the tv first came out but later they stop giving them out as it costs too much for them to give away which sucks
I own this tv my misfortune is to come from england so were stuck with the crap plastic remote and one pair of last years 3D glasses i also own a galaxy s2 so cannot get the android samsung remote app as it does not install on s2.So everybody in europe complain to samsung and get them to treat us the same way they do there usa owners or return tv then samsung may think twice about there of usa first europe nowhere policy dont accept it do something about it.
Also, I now have this TV and it comes with a HORRIBLE black plastic remote, it is HIDEOUS! Also if you have a Mac and you want to connect your digital content then forget it cos you can't!
@AntNLucee wait were do u live because form what i was told and see that the new keybord remtoe and 2 pairs of 3D glasses come inside of the box ,that kinda sucks that u did not get the right remote .let me know dude .also how is the 3D on the tv what do u think of it .
@joseph10704 I'm in Europe, don't get the QWERTY keyboard remote, just a nasty black plastic brick, oh and only one pair of (the cheapest) 3D glasses, I think this is possibly different in other countries though, not sure..
If I'm honest I think considering the cost of the TV it should at least come with a better remote, my remote doesn't even look as though it belongs with this TV, the TV's metal and the remote is black plastic, pretty lame TBH.
@AntNLucee i dont blame u buddy for all that money that u have spent u sould we sould all get a nice remote over here in the states from what i was told we get the keybord remote and i think 2 pairs of 3D glasses inside of the box .beside the remote not being good how is the tv and it picture and also the look and fetures of the tv do u love it or hate the tv beside the remote.
@joseph10704 TV itself, yeah the picture is good, but even there there's a bit of unevenness in the backlighting with slightly more illumination around the edges. All in all great design but it's let down in so many ways. If you use a Mac for instance forget sharing your digital content with the TV cos it just won't work.
@AntNLucee i been thinking alot enfact a ton about in compareing the D7000 TO THE D8000 and the guy at pc richerds told me that really the only differenc is contrast from the d7000 its 15,000,000 to 1 to the d8000 its comtrast is 25,000,000 to 1 when u look at the it is a big difference but ony in the black and white and some of the color ,pluse the d8000 has micro dimming + were as the d7000 only has micro dimming really there is no big difference its just a word samsung like to use to confuse.
@qool786 both stands are metal bro hell they both could be plastic too i mean i dont care really while people hate the way they look i mean i like them but i am not going to use the stand lol i am mounted this bad boy on the wall for sure.
@joseph10704 you were mentioning the differences between the models not preferences and to honest if i had one i would probably go for the wall mount aswell
The best TV so far on the market - I sell all the major 5 brands that make TVs and this D8000 and 7000 ... they look like something that's like 2 years ahead of its rivals. Forget the VT20 . This one is the new king. Build in wi-fi reciver , full browser and apps page is nonstop updated , social networking , hdd recording and all the latest codecs on the USB player.
@AntNLucee It's not a cruddy remote, it in actual fact comes with a blackberry scroll device to give you a fantastic control when web/smart hub browsing. The TV and blackberry remote are awesome.
The Samsung TV remote app will work exactly the same on your iphone/touch mobile device, save a few buttons, and will save the confusion of picking up your remote control to take out with you to play your mp3 collection. The TV app is free, the remote, who needs another device inferior to your iphone.
Not very bad ass considerin most 2010 models had support for the iphone and ipad as a remote, nothing new here apart from the slim bezel that LG did last year on the infinia lx9900.
Looks amazing - I have had the b8000 and now own the c8000 - looks like I'll have to get the d8000 now when it comes out! (bit of a samsung fan boy lol)
Whats the story with the ios app for this TV? Anyone have any info on this? Would love to get it working on my TV. Had the touch screen remote whilst I briefly owned the c9000 and was not impressed tbh..
Most 3DTV's you can watch without glasses & still have the clear picture. This one is 3D, I bought my LED 2 years ago (UNB7100) and I'm amazed at how far they've come after that! Mine has the 120hz and I really wanted a 240hz but oh well. I'm still in love with the quality of every Samsung LED television. What I love about these new ones are their WiFi capabilities & Netflix already installed. Also their touch screen remotes. But I'm thinking about $4,000 to $6,000 in price. Mine brand new was
@demorik true i wait it out all summer then around the holiday's i see what's going on but for nwo this is still wahat i want to get lol but still u got to see what the outlook will be to me tho i will never go for a plasma i never had one but i had family and friends have a ton of problmes with them and just will stay why for whatevr good reson ther is for me it's just will never happen lol.
@joseph10704 you know what is the craziest thing, i have always been a lcd guy until i got a $1100 panasonic g25 plasma which beat out my uncles $2000 led set in terms of picture quality he then sold that and got a vt25 plasma from panasonic and he wont stop watching the damn thing lol. led/lcd tvs look great but for me the disadvantages at this point are too much and people have been getting false info on plasmas but i respect your opinion.
@demorik Yeah-- except your electricity bill is double or even tripple that of an LED. There are cheap - low quality LED.. and that's probably what your uncle has.
@Windbringer true the power consumption is higher but it is only slightly more especially after calibration of the plasma which drops the power consuption down. Would you call the samsung UN46C7000 a cheap low quality led/lcd ? and also at the time he paid about $2200 for the 50 inch vt25 which was the best tv of last year 2d and 3d. The power consumption issue is true but is overblown considering plasmas are now energy star rated and the cost of some of these led/lcd tvs are laughable.
does it have 3d? I guess it does since u had the glasses, lol but still:o Can you watch normal TV without 3d on a 3d tv or can u only watch 3d related stuff? just a random question.
