Pure class. Could listen to this all night. Along with "6 million steps" by Rhani Harris, another instrumental classic, but with a touching story attatched to it. Those were the days ...lol
This was my number one jazz funk track that i danced to at the Rum Runner on Broad St Birmingham about 1979-80 I was well known them days for dancing great memories, Sandi.
Mange Tout Mange Tout Jolly Boys outing to stage 3 Leysdown 30 April 1982. At midnight the DJ interupted to anounce WE JUST BOMBED PORT STANLEY AIRPORT, Did we go wild Come on you Brits.
Bob James! Wilbert Longmire from Ohio!! Thank You for posting this great instrumental single from his 1978 LP, "Sunny Side Up." This track stands up well next to anything, say from Deodato. Please check out 1980's "Music Speaks Louder than Words" as well!! Happy New Year !! DAVEDJ
@jazzfunkeddie still have the album my god,we as black people need to go back to making proper music and not the stuff that is coming out which is direspecting legends like these
I have this album on vinyl and boy it is one of the greatest albums ever produced! I love that computerized synthesizer arpeggio on 2:16. Bob James is the king of jazz and funk!

This is my all time favourite jazz funk choon. It has everything: flutes, strings, horns, bass, girlie chorus.

Great to hear this again. Thank you. Have to go with MarioSpeedWagon138 and ask you to upload Good Morning.
michael1608 3 years ago
I'll upload good morning tomorrow seeing as 2 people have requested it.
However, I could only be honest and say that it's not my type of Jazz.
I would be tempted to refer to it as "lift music"
VespaPX2001981 3 years ago
A brilliant song that really hits the groove.
Bob James really did produce some the best Jazz Funk in the late 70's early 80's.
