One thing that differs between A7X and Atreyu is that A7X will probably never go back to their roots with their metalcore style. However Shadows has resumed screaming in live shows. Maybe that's a sign or maybe the band is taking a shit in our pants.

Atreyu's next album (released this summer) is going back to their roots with more of the metalcore style we all love. I think they just wanted to try a new style with one of their albums but they know the genre they're good at.
