I have been around true prophetess that has actually told me about a deep decision I was contemplating the night before. The lord gave her my thoughts and she came and confronted me with it the next day and it was true. Amazing! She was a real prophetess in our church.

Hi, study your Bible carefully, there are several kinds of "Tongues"
There is speaking of tongues for personal edification, there speaking in tongues and interpretation, and there is speaking in tongues as a sign. Read 1 cor 14. 1 cor 12, and Make 16:16.
Not every speaking of tongues needs interpretation. You don't have the authority to condemn that which have have not experienced. "Do you speak in tongues?"

@godapproved I agree and disagree. You have to read the whole chapter in 1Cor. Yes, the bible says that there needs to be an interpeter but theres different kinds of tounges as pointed out above. If I go up for prayer or even in my home praising the Lord and speack in tounges then there no need for interpertation cause thats between G and the Lord. However, in this setting I believe she needs an interperter because she is preaching to people, it's just like the bible says no one understands her.

NOTICE that verse you quoted said to pray that you might interpret: she didn't pray for interpretation. I think it is clear that she did what she did in error.
@godapproved oh i definitely agree with what u are saying. speaking in tongues is def something that more believers need to educate themselves about by reading their word and praying for the wisdom to know when certain gifts of the spirit are and aren't appropriate for that moment. im just giving her the benifit of the doubt i guess. ppl tend to forget that just bc its a gift of the spirit it can and too often is misused. anything done for God must be in decency and in order.

@BludBaut This isn't criticizing someone behind their back as you say this is a public forum in which the whole world can see. Gossip is defined as idol talk in which case this is by no means Idol. I brought up a valid point in which scripture commands us to follow and yet you argue with me instead of adhering to scripture. @godapproved I agree and disagree. You have to read the whole chapter in 1Cor. Yes, the bible says that there needs to be an interpeter but theres different kinds of tounges as pointed out above. If I go up for prayer or even in my home praising the Lord and speack in tounges then there no need for interpertation cause thats between G and the Lord. However, in this setting I believe she needs an interperter because she is preaching to people, it's just like the bible says no one understands her.

@godapproved In this case she needs an interperter because she is preaching to the people. If your praying or whatever and feel the spirit and began to speak in tongues you dont need a interperter because it's between God and you. Very simple.

@godapproved the Bible does say that a person who speaks in tongues can also interpret them also, so one can speak and interpret their own tongues. 1corinthians 14:13. shes preaching as shes speaking in tongues so whos to say that what she is preaching isnt the interpretation of her speaking in tongues?

@justindwebber Perhaps you're right…it also speaks of letting another interpret. It says that tongues are a sign for an unbeliever. NOTICE that verse you quoted said to pray that you might interpret: she didn't pray for interpretation. Suppose she did give interpretation, she should have made that clear to avoid the confusion... which lead to this refutation. God is not the author of disorder. I think it is clear that she did what she did in error.

@godapproved oh i definitely agree with what u are saying. speaking in tongues is def something that more believers need to educate themselves about by reading their word and praying for the wisdom to know when certain gifts of the spirit are and aren't appropriate for that moment. im just giving her the benifit of the doubt i guess. ppl tend to forget that just bc its a gift of the spirit it can and too often is misused. anything done for God must be in decency and in order.
