  • THE PURPLE COW

    by: Gelett Burgess (1866-1951)

I never saw a Purple Cow,

    I never hope to see one;

But I can tell you, anyhow,

I'd rather see than be one.

  • i love it... that part with screaming... its fantastic..

  • @vEEtNULA07 imagine the noises she makes during sex!

  • Some of the songs on Gling-Gló are jazz standards, translated into Icelandic, while others are original compositions.

This one was an intriguing in-between. For the longest time, I thought it was a translation of "Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise", but apparently it's an original composition.

  • Jo elska dei;)

  • wo, could you translate the lyrics? I love it too, but speak only norwegian, english, and german.

  • you can find the translations at bjork's official webpage

  • I'm not speak in Icelandic, some time I fell in love in one guy half Polish/Sweden, and he was singing me songs from Gling-glo and translated it.

He knows Icelandic very well, even he wrote dictionary Icelandic/Polish.

    Oh sweet times: Gling-Glo, Egoist-Chanel and Victor-haha;)

  • Back in 2001 after her concert in el liceu in Barcelona I bought this album. I'd been tryin to find it for ages in Greece, where I live. Of course she didn't sing this in that concert, but I still love it and reinds me of those days...

  • I love Bjork and i love this song.

Anyway, "Caata" in the italian dialect in Tuscany means "shit", and this is waaay too funny.

  • psycho-cowadelik

  • Can someone tell me what's the connection of this cow to the song. I'm really curious. What does kata rokkar means?

  • There is no connection, i just thought the cow was weird, just like this song hehehe!

Kata rokkar means Kata (a girl's name) rocks.

  • This cow is well hypnotising! UohUohUoh..... By the way, it's funny, cause Bjork sings many times Icelandic word which sounds like cow... :D

  • just a coincidence. Alot of the lyrics/words end in á which in Icelandic sounds like "ow".
