Great tribute. I know it may not mean anything to you but, there is an order in which each branch is to be shown. Each branch varies in the regulations, but the DOD Directive 1008.d dated 1977 states the order as follows:
U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S Coast Guard. This is the Official Order and overides all Branch regulations. Since there have been so many of these videos and tributes posted, thought that the folks doing them would like to have this info.
buyubengals, you posted this comment on one of my Tributes (Argus1948). We are patriots. I say, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines. The order is long lost. We should enjoy what is left. This vid is part of that. Obama flubbed this when he told his daughter that the US Marine Band would play four songs (Anthems) for the military, the Army, Marines, Air Force ... and ...Navy. He left out the Coast Guard. Problem, with Tribute poeple, music available is not in the proper order. Vote YES on this video!
I've always been told the branches are supposed to be played in the order they were created. (June 1775) Army, (October 1775) Navy, (November 1775) Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard...
@GettysburgFife I dont think the Cost Guard is the newest... I could be wrong- either way they seem to ALWAYS play the Air Force song last, and Ive watched almost all of the ones on youtube. The only thing consistant about them is that.
@mypureimagination The reason the Air Force song is always played last is because it is in 6/8 time and the others are in 2/4 time. It is more consistent to play the Army, Navy, Marine & Coast guard songs in the same tempo and then change tempo for only the Air Force song. I am an ex-Air force Bandsman.
@danscalera1 that's really interesting to know- i had alwyas wondered why the Air Force song was usually played last- now I know its nothing against the USAf or the song- its just for technical reasons
tralbry" I guess for ignorant people like you I guess I should have explained my self better. I like Christmas lights, but it is the music by the Air Force band that makes me proud to have served my country for 31 years. How about you?
Outstanding music. I've heard the U.S. Air Force band in person and they are simply awesome! My father is a Army Air Corps veteran of W.W.II, and I have a lot of respect for the Air Force, as I do all the U.S. Armed Forces.
great song if we were actually protecting freedom and not being murdering whores for the jew bankers

Coast Guard is not the newest- Air Force was formed in 1947, while the Coast Guard was formed in 1790.

That is interesting as this music was taken directly from the free music site of the Air Force. Glad you liked it.
